While it worked on making me not care about the pain, it used to plug me up, making another type of pain.
All opioids will do that. I took it last night, but no more. Especially since I was advised not to "push"
...It's always interesting being the subject of a company safety meeting...
If done correctly, it can be a good thing, if not...

I ended up buying a Sony A6400 with a 16-50 lense, just to play with before buying an adapter.

After playing with it for a couple of days, I got a Canon EF to Sony E adapter.

It works great with full functionality of all my Canon lenses.

I shoot mostly at aperture priority to get the depth of field and let the camera figure out the rest. Will have to play with full manual mode and break out my neutral density filter for ghost scenes.

Good morning all!

Another beautiful day today. Currently its 55F with an expected high of 82F under mostly sunny skies. Yesterday we rloke the record when we
hit 83F. Today looks like a carbon copy of yesterday.

Not much going on as of yet. Usual morning household stuff then we will see.

Watched my Cubs last night win 8 in a row.

Have a safe day everyone!

Morning all,

68° with a high of 84° later, Expecting wind, rain and storms later as a front is moving through this afternoon.

Yesterday was a much better day, the fiber company is dealing with the break in the fiber that has the link down. It is 1 mile away from the new Senior center and 3 miles south of the next point. Should be fixed today. At least the boss understands why I said it was fixed, but the link was down. I don't do the physical fiber, especially a mile down the line.

Also can't wait to see Coyote vs. ACME either. Looks like a hoot!

Louis: Glad to hear all is doing well. Get better quick!

James Condon? I want to get a dead mower just to see if I can fix it because of him.
No, I think it was actually a Toro video. I've never watched anything by James Condon, but if you ever want to be entertained there's a channel called "Taryl Fixes All" that's funny and actually pretty informative. They guy dresses up like a redneck complete with a set of horrible false teeth and you get a lesson and a comedy skit all in one. 😆 He's actually pretty good underneath the camp.

Good Morning All!
42F @ 80% more rain. Don't think it made 55F yesterday.

Ants: Boy, we got'm all and they have been busy the last few warm days. Everywhere from 3/32nd to 3/4" in length. Don't have any in the house, so that is a good thing. We just take 1/4 cup of sugar and dump a couple of piles where will want them. They all mosey on over and stay off the porch and decks. Can't wait for Maria to get chickens going again, insect population goes to pretty much zero - no spiders, ants, beetles, grass hoppers ( later in summer ), ground bees ... you name it.

You all know about Darth Vader's brother Taxa? He is in Federal Prison now.

It's sad to see the Weathering Rolling Stock thread is closed. I see many other threads are started around the same subject. Would've been nice to keep all that info in one place.
Yeah, but I agree with Tom's reasons. When your audience trickles away, and you get tired of maintaining it, it's time. That content takes a bunch of work. As a thread owner I can tell you that in addition to the hours or days of work for the project, you have photos to crop and maybe edit (like marking up with arrows & circles, etc.), writing in a manner that's understandable, arranging it all so that it makes sense to a reader. I've actually spent one day working a project, and the next day documenting and posting what I did. It's sort of a labor of love. As for getting it all in one place, well there is a search tool here that will help you with that... :)

Good morning

Yesterday i got a package from overseas :)
My "final" piece for my L&N Diorama arrived!

Will share pictures when i have them ;)

I have one of those. Very nice model. Don't let the cat operate it. They get hung up on the bell function and are terribly reckless!

Just catching up on other news, musician Dave Mason died Sunday at age 79. He co-founded the band Traffic with Steve Winwood in the 60's and is best remembered as the composer of the iconic Joe Cocker cover, "Feelin' Alright". It was also a hit for Traffic.
Low Spark of the High Heeled Boys. My favorite Traffic album. Damn. We're old. When did that happen and how do we make it stop? 😢

I need to rant.

Why is it if im 15 minutes late the doctor charges me and doesnt wanna see me but i get here and they are late by 30 minutes no one bats an eye uggggh
Mass production medicine. The business model is to get as many people through the machine as possible. The Navy made me oblivious to that. it's just how things are. Hurry up and wait. I take my tablet with me and just hang out. I will say that my provider doesn't have this issue or has it rarely. Take a deep breath. 😉

My old Canon EOS 630 along with an oops! That roll may be 20 years old. I may try to get it developed, if I can find a place.

I shoot with a Digital Rebel now but I still have my old film cameras. I can't bear to part with them. A Canon AE-1 and a Canon A-1. At the end of my film days I used the A-1 mostly, on aperture priority when shooting models. That's the thing about cell phone cameras. Great for snapshots, but very limited depth of field.

Good Morning All. Cloudy still and 68°, maybe going up to 79° later today. 80's and 90's for the next few days.

Headed out this morning for the weekly grocery trek, along with a stop at the Vitamin Shop, hardware store and pharmacy. Going to the local Ace Hardware because I can get assistance there, whereas I'm on my own at HD. I need a new aerator for the kitchen sink. Plus I can park within 20' of the door! Hopefully this light breeze this morning dries things up after Tuesday's rain so I can get back to mowing and weedeating.

Uneventful day here yesterday that culminated with burgers on the grill for supper

Out in the train shed yesterday, it was fencing day. I installed this barbed-wire fence on the backside of the main line through the latest project section. It's from Woodland Scenics and is a lot easier than my old method of barbed-wire fences.

Then I added some residents.

I them installed the Tichy fence behind the church.

Putting everything back in place gets me this.

I also made a little progress over on the RH side with driveways and ground cover.

Did some other stuff that I don't remember.

Terry - My eye doc was just the opposite, he told me that I didn't need to do the cataract surgery in 2017. By 2023, he decided that it was finally time and what a difference it made. The cloudiness in the corners of my eyes disappeared and everything became much brighter and more vivid than before. As Todd posted, it's an easy surgery, but it may require some follow-ups.
I am guessing that there were no royalties for being the subject of the safety meeting.
Tom O - What kind of new mower are you getting? I need to get one right now, as my 2-year old electric one won't start up any more. Both batteries are fully charged. No one around here works on them. Supposedly costs less to just buy a new one. I am thinking of going back to a gas-powered one with electric start.
Hughie - "Ponding on roadways" seems to be the new buzzword with TXDOT. I saw my first sign for that earlier this week. The ponding was there all right, situated between two sewers on a brand new just completed highway segment near me. Duh! Seems like the sewers could have had better placement.
Alan -
Low Spark of the High Heeled Boys. My favorite Traffic album.
I have to agree with that, although some of the ones from 67-68 were especially good at the time. "Dear Mr. Fantasy" anyone???

Everybody have a great Thursday. Be safe.

In other news: My old MRC Tech 2 powerpack gave up the ghost, so I'll have to replace that. I have to have one so I can test locos on DC before re-motoring and converting to DCC. Oh well. It was like 40 years old, so it didn't owe me any money. I have to cut the grass today. Just cut it Saturday, but it's been so wet here it's growing like crazy. Train club tonight. Not sure if I'll get to the bench today or not. Going to 80 today, so I'll need to get started soon. If the weather holds, I'll break out the grill. Maybe some wings or steaks.
