No barber again today. She didn't even answer my text this morning. I told the parter she had working for her a couple of months ago that if she ever opened her own place to call me.

Turned out very nice today, if a bit on the windy side. Gusts to over 30 knots out of the south. Tomorrow is a repeat at 80°F and not so cold tonight.

That's what I'd do. I've done it before...

Top the can off with fresh gas. Then when the car is basically on empty take it to the station, dump the can in, then fill it with fresh gas. Any lacquers and stuff that have separated will dissolve in the fresh gas I am guessing and putting it in before you put in the fresh gas (at the same stop -- just the order of doing it) means the fresh gas comes in and mixes with the old gas. Use ethanol free gas if you have it in your area for this.

In our area a lot of stations sell ethanol free gas. It's a mid-grade and is 30-40 cents above regular. You get better gas mileage as well with it.

Also for your small engines like mowers and snowblowers and leaf blowers that use gasoline, use ethanol free if you can get it. They are more affected by the ethanol than your car.

Disclaimer: I am not a petroleum engineer and this advice is worth what you paid for it
Yeah, I separate the ethanol out of my small engine gasoline as a rule. Cannot buy any pure gas within a thirty mile radius at any pump I can find, but the process itself isn't that difficult. Just need a few juice bottles and plastic tubing.

However...don't do it in your basement, either.

The routers supposedly have backdoors in them. Nothing a PW would stop.
I bought, last year, a TP-Link high speed gaming router...for maybe $175 or so off Amazon. And I think I'm gonna leave it unopened inside it's box...because I have and use at least one of my current PC's for banking.

As it happens I have mostly banked with Chase, and their fraud alert peeps are on top of everything I've ever seen. I bought a jacket for my niece for X-mas about ten years back. Used my card and I got a call from them less than sixty seconds later asking if I had just made any purchases from bookstores...not just one, but two...bookstores in China within the last two minutes. No, I hadn't.

So I don't want to risk anything I think the CCP can see. Not if I can prevent it. I imagine they already know what percentage of black vs. white socks I buy, and whether they are long or ankle length...and what THAT percentage is too.

But I don't want to make it any easier for them, just on principle.

Good morning Coffee Shop, it's Wednesday! The temperature is 61°F (16°C) and a chance of rain.

Weather:
Mostly cloudy toward daybreak then becoming partly cloudy. Scattered showers and thunderstorms toward daybreak. Scattered showers and thunderstorms late this afternoon. Highs in the mid 70s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
Have a great day! ;)

I haven't had any issues with hacking of my router and its a Netgear R7800 that I haven't updated in at least 8 years. Not sure if there are any updates any more. I have it parked behind the fiber router that came with the internet service as my router doesn't do fiber, so there are basically two firewalls up. But, the netgear does detect DoS and other types of attacks once in a while.

The only time I have issues with banking or whatever is more due to me in not remembering what I ordered, recognizing the vender, or ordering stuff from hacker sites. My credit union does make me authorize certain purchases on my credit card, so that's cool. I had one that after I pushed the purchase button, I got a notification on my cell (credit union does it over email) to authorize $500 for the item, which was listed for only $80, so I did not authorize it and immediately checked my account, which did not show the transaction, so all was good.

Good morning, Everybody!

No work for me today because of surgery, and I can’t wait to have it over with. Last night I had Jello for dinner as instructed, and wow, that stuff had me running to the bathroom to pee even more than usual! I did not see that coming!

The NL Central - the best division in MLB! "How about that?!"

The Orioles and Royals have played two wild games so far with the rubber match this afternoon. An 8-5-6 double play in the 9th inning... and a walk off wild pitch the next day... You have got to love baseball.
Have a great day Everybody!

Best wishes for the surgery.

Be sure they don't operate on you in the nude. Make them wear clothes!

Good Morning All!
52F @ 60% Supposed to rain Today, Tomorra. Good, we can use it. 74F yesterday 'bout 1700

@bnsf971 Totally spaced the pix I was gonna get. HoneyDu list got dropped in my lap and ... well...

Y'all are using WiFi Access Points for router and firewall? You might look into a Linux box for doing that. Highly configurable, fast and completely blocks all back doors in what ever AP you have; if they have them of course. In most cases, most of you would block *everything* from coming in as it is not needed. If you do need access to some computer/device from the WAN side to internal LAN, be careful with that. Adjust the incoming Port to something higher than 1024 and only allow when you know you will be outside and using; block again when not using. I have been doing just that since '93 ish and have never had any compromise. You can also monitor the outgoing stuff in case some device is 'calling home'; then block that internal IP from getting out - usually Port 80. That tried to happen to me - bought camera's for the Truck and decided to bench test them. Whoa, direct call to China and it was not for updates, pretty much all image data. That quelled those cameras as we only had Cell with Hotspot in the truck and not configurable.

I do like our latest and greatest ( to us ) Netgear devices RAX45 and AC1900 ( both NightHawk ). Upped the Inet speed to 500Meg and we now see ~400Meg at the TV which loads those widgets much faster. It might be me, but it seems like we have a sharper pix at the higher speed. I still can't type that fast, but what the hay!

I don’t know if anybody but me remembers nearly 3 years ago when the eye doc dropped the “cataract” grenade in my lap. I haven’t noticed any significant degradation of my vision since then. I had an eye exam last Sunday, and that eye doc told me the previous eye doc’s diagnosis was a bit premature. At this point, that issue is so far down the road it is barely visible. The analogy she gave me was that of a 30 year old person finding a half dozen grey hairs on their head out of a full head of hair. Neither of us could figure out why the previous doc made his diagnosis sound so bad.

Wishing you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!

Good morning all!

Happy hump Day!

Another great day weather wise today. Currently 59F with an expected high of 78F under mostly sunny skies. The rain and storms
never materialised last night though it wasnt a big chance. It is nice to be able to finally have the windows open in the bedroom
at night.

Nothing much other than the usual stuff planned for today. Hopefully another quiet day.

Have a safe day everyone!

Morning all,

59° and drizzle this morning, high of 70° later.

Hope today is better than yesterday. Get called in because there's a problem at the new Senior Center. Turns out one of the fiber links is down and I was "supposed" to have had that fixed last week. Why was it not fixed? Boss confused a programming issue(fixed) with a secondary fiber break (not fixed as it happened over the weekend). The two events are mutually exclusive. Never tell me I'm not doing my job just because something isn't right.

Meeting with a new financial planner on Friday. The current one changed his fee structure and it isn't in my favor (they never are). Based on the number of high dollar luxury cars in the client parking lot, I'm in the wrong crowd.

Got a bill in the mail from the old house insurance company, letting me know that they required $400 for homeowners insurance for the next month. I had already let the agent know I wasn't renewing. He must not have let his insurance company know, which is another reason I went elsewhere.

Louis: Good luck man, and get better soon.

Best of luck to you today. Hope it solves the issue.

Good morning Crew. We probably will get to 80f degrees today.

New mower arrives tomorrow. Finally fed up with the old one that I’ve threaten for years to get rid of. Neighbor kid took it as he started a lawn service (he’s 11) and wanted a back up machine. He has 30 yards signed up. Not mine as the grandson is supposed to be my lawn service!

I applied a surface primer (Vallejo ghost gray) to the Blow tank in the paper mill build for a friend yesterday. Also used Israeli Sand color surface primer on the digester building and the big Recovery boiler and Bleach plant false front walls. I have to (my rule)wait 72 hours before I work on them some more. They dry quickly to the touch but they need to cure and harden. Usually good after 48 hours but I want to be sure masking tape doesn’t pull any paint off. So the 72 hours before working on rule is in effect!

Terry has dental work today. 2 hours in the chair fitting new crowns. She’ll have the car so I’ll have to spend time in the train room.

Enjoy the day
