Have a great day! ;)

Weather for today:

Mostly sunny toward daybreak then becoming partly cloudy. Breezy and much warmer with highs in the mid 70s. South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph becoming southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph late this afternoon.

Good morning gang!

31° under clear skies. Looking for a high today of 51° . This little cold snap has been a small surprise, especially when we had the HVAC system set up for cooling. somewhere in the wee hours of the morning I did get up to switch it back to heat mode. Tomorrow it looks like temps in the 70s so back to the cooling mode it will go.

Good morning all!

Nice warm up begins today thru Saturday, Currently its 46F with an expected high 74F. They say there is a slight chance of an
isolated T-storm later this evening. Chances are pretty low though.

Nothing really going on here at the moment. Will do some laundry and empty the dishwasher this morning and I do have a couple
prescriptions for the wife to pick up at CVS. Other than that it should be a pretty straightforward day around here.

Hopefully some train time tonight.

Have a safe day everyone!

Morning all,

54° and clear, high later of 78°.

Not a lot going on yet today. Whatever the critter is that has dug a burrow under the front porch step is a persistent bugger. My next step is to start filling the hole with wet concrete mix. I keep filling it with sand which doesn't appear to be dug out any longer as the sand came from under the concrete step. Last night I filled it again and left the shovel across the main hole and it dug to the side of the shovel. That got more sand pushed back into it and refilled this morning.

Good morning folks. 57°F here this morning heading for 80°F today, I hope. Very bright and sunny this morning with a wind shift from the south after the warm front passed. 80°F tomorrow and 83°F Wednesday before another week's worth of 70° days.

I'm going to see if my barber is going to keep her word today about showing up for work, and I have a load of laundry going. Nothing else on today's schedule. Have a good day today everyone.

Servus!

Still waiting for the workers comp insurance company. I spoke with the doctor this morning, and they still haven't authorized my visit from yesterday. She's going to call them, since they haven't called her.
I was involved in a 3rd party WC claim around 2011. Bad slip & fall. It tore the left biceps tendon completely off the shoulder joint and split my labrum. It took 6 months for WC to approve the surgery. Since it was a 3rd party issue I was forced by the regulations (I had no choice) to sue for damages & to recoup the medical costs. What a scam. I just wanted to get back to 100% and move on.

Arbitration is another BS scam. My attorney received 1/3 off the top. WC insurer received 2/3rds of the remaining 2/3rds and I received the balance minus any legal fees, deposition costs, arbitration, etc.

Good morning. Both grandkids are off to school and we are back home. Daughter is on a flight from Florida and should be at Chicago O’Hara anytime now. Then a quick flight to Madison. The son in law is a few miles away in meetings just outside O’Hara till 6pm but he’ll drive home this evening

The brother’s heart procedure took 15 minutes and was scheduled for 8am yesterday. Prepped and ready for 8am they took him at 3:10pm. Says he feels ok but has chest pain that they told him is muscular and told him not to be worried. Fixed atrail flutter. His girlfriend has held up well so far and I am not rushing off to Vegas.

I received another offer yesterday on the property that the county and Town have now both approved for the latest subdivision. It’s real close to the minimum offer I would accept but still it was short. So I said no. Turns out the firm sending the offer is doing it for a large company in Verona that after the recent property purchase they made last week they now abut my new land. That bit of knowledge definitely makes me feel better about saying no. As always I worry about the real estate market here collapsing but still no signs of it in our part of Dane County. Infrastructure starts with earth moving the 1st week in May. The trees on the roads have been cutdown

Enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Cloudy, misting and 55° here this morning. Looks like it will persist all day, as the system is quite slow-moving. NWS says maybe a half inch accumulation over the next 24 hours. Won't warm up much over 60° today, due to the clouds.

I managed to mow the west side between the woodlot and hayfield yesterday; all that's left now is the area on the north between the train shed and the pond. Doesn't look like I'll get to it today. Probably won't dry out until Thursday at the soonest...no wind forecast for tomorrow. Nothing planned for today, I'll wing it from here.
Spent much of the day yesterday in the garden. The Johnson Grass this year is quite persistent. Bad for the garden but good for my hayfield which is quite lush right now. We're not planting anything out there this season, just letting the Johnson Grass grow. It does make good hay which neighbor Marty will use for the sheep and goats. Like his late father, he'll take 125 goats to the local flea market and sell all of them out of the back of the trailer in 2-3 hours to the Hispanics, especially right now just prior to Cinco de Mayo. Dad used to get $125-$150 per goat, I don't know if that price has gone up recently. He'll have another surge for the Fourth of July and Labor Day. It's a good cash supplement to his income.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I moved forward. Did some more ground cover over in the neighborhood.

That will continue next; maybe I'll even move to the adjoining RH side.

I placed a few vehicles out to get a further look at the detailing of the place. There will probably be some changes as well as many additions.

Already thinking about additional figures, especially at the church where a wedding is happening.

This is one of a very few structures that I didn't build myself. It and the accompanying figures were on the consignment table at the LHS years ago and I liked it and the price was right. Don't remember it though!
I also did some vacuuming on the clean-up project on the other side of the layout. I'm woefully behind over there since I was too involved in the neighborhood and forgot to start earlier this month. I know, I am retired and have all of the time in the world!

Troy - I'd top off your gas can with fresh gas and use it up in the car, diluted there with an almost full tank. It should be dilute enough to not cause any problems.
Terry - Pretty sorry worker's comp plan your company has. Our company and the insurance company, responded immediately to reduce potential liability later on. They both also had employee safety high on their priority list. Side note: Texas is the only state that does not require private employers to carry worker's comp. It is provided (optionally) by private insurers. Good luck with your injury and I hope that it will work out.

Would have posted this earlier, but the site was acting really flaky and I couldn't upload the pictures.
Mist has turned into a drizzle now.
Everyone have a great Tuesday. Be safe out there.

That's what I'd do. I've done it before...

Top the can off with fresh gas. Then when the car is basically on empty take it to the station, dump the can in, then fill it with fresh gas. Any lacquers and stuff that have separated will dissolve in the fresh gas I am guessing and putting it in before you put in the fresh gas (at the same stop -- just the order of doing it) means the fresh gas comes in and mixes with the old gas. Use ethanol free gas if you have it in your area for this.

In our area a lot of stations sell ethanol free gas. It's a mid-grade and is 30-40 cents above regular. You get better gas mileage as well with it.

Also for your small engines like mowers and snowblowers and leaf blowers that use gasoline, use ethanol free if you can get it. They are more affected by the ethanol than your car.

That's why I'm burning off the old gas.

Far less expensive to "waste" it than to fix a gummed up engine.

I finally understand "Rec Fuel" signs thanks to your suggestion. And yes, my local gas station has "Rec Fuel" (E-zero) fuel according to their signs. They also have diesel, and the yellow handled E-85.

Is the E-zero a blue handle? If so, I'll look tomorrow when I'm out there.

I've seen one vid suggesting E-zero specifically for generators, so my 2nd gas can is going to get added to the car's fuel tank sooner than expected.

Afternoon All! Took one of the cats to the groomer today. He's a long hair so he gets a lion cut to control the mats and yakked up hairballs. He doesn't like going and says so loudly. Good modeling day yesterday. That's over on my passenger car thread. More today. 70 today, sunny. About time!

Good afternoon. The FUD-mongering is continuing. I got an email a few minutes ago from my ISP, warning me my router had been compromised by the GRU and was being used as part of a bot net to try to take over important targets in the US. They let me know since I owned my router, it was my responsibility to stop this immediately, and they wouldn't be able to help because the router wasn't theirs.
In the next paragraph, they let me know I should add one of their routers to my plan for a nominal monthly fee to prevent myself from being a victim of these type of attacks.

On the very last page of the email, on the bottom, in small letters, it let me know this was an informational email only, to make me aware that some routers could have been compromised if they were older and had not had their firmware updated. My brand-new Wifi 7 router was not affected.

There is some talk of this by some of the computer gurus on YouTube.
U S now blocking sales of some overseas manufactured routers.
