I am starting the new layout sometime soon I hope. I am looking to build it in a sectional manner which I guess means in modules but not to the strict standards of a module. Of course this takes away interchangability but keeps the mobility factor.

i was wondering if anyone would perhaps post some pics of their modules. Specifically how they are connected to eash other, the benchwork foe each, and how they have set up electrical connections. I would like to install plugs on each end of a section to make electrical hook up easy and quick.

Thanks

I have been looking at doing the same lightweight modular setup and I think I have decided on a design. Since I don't have room for a permanent layout, I need something very light-weight, can be stored easily and moved in/out of the house.

The design is going to be based on the module Sacramento Modular uses. http://saccentral.railfan.net/Page5ModuleConstruction.html

Mine will be 30"x45". 45" because that will exactly fit on a 18x48" wire shelf. 30" so it will go through all door ways. Will use spring clamps to hold them together.

For wiring, I am planning on using the Anderson powerpole plugs between the modules for easy connect/disconnect.
