Their beauts aint they! just getting started on detailing my EM-1 :D
added the 3 handrails behindthe water hatch's on the tender and masked and sprayed the cab roof and tender deck oxide red,that makes things jump out a bit. see the difference.

The workman is looking at the wrong train, you've got a derailment on the 4-12-2! Speaking of derailments, how on Earth is that thing supposed to navigate corners?! The pic is a bit blurry but it looks like all the drivers have flanges to me...
 


That EM-1 looks great. I will be geeting one myself in the near future, I hope...lol

The MTH 4-12-2 is articulated.
 
Where is the 4-12-2 articulated? I can't see how you could get any meaningful level of articulation happening with the siderods there...
 
Where is the 4-12-2 articulated

The MTH 4-12-2 is articulated into 2 x 6 wheel sets with the front set swinging from a pivot at the front of the second set.

Both sets are driven separately and the coupling rods are slotted to allow for movement.
The articulation can be locked with a half-moon plate which can be fitted into a curved slot which limits movement.

Here is a photo of my MTH 4-12-2 along with it's larger sister, a brass "0" scale version which is not articulated.

Both have operating Gresley conjugated gear for the middle cylinder and centre crank.
