New Train layout 6-1-23

Just finished Building an Executive Airport on top of 1 of my mountains today. Lego Buildings & 1/87th scale planes. The Airport is 89" long by 10&1/2" wide. 7-20-24

I had never done lego's when I was a kid because back then there wasn't any. I started building lego Kits in Jan. of 2023 at age 84. I was waiting for my Train Room to be finished & needed something to do. I moved up here to Covington, Ga. on Oct.13th 22 after my wife died in Jan. of 22. I now live with my Sister. My building was finished in June of 23 & started building tables 2 weeks after that.

I haven't posted anything on the group for quite awhile. I have been real busy doing other things like building Lego WW2 Planes & now I have too many 17 to be exact & I have also been rebuilding quite a few of my layout Lego Buildings which I have 88 of those. Now, I'm getting back to work on the layout. I've added another mainline which I have to wire up a mess of drops. Then in about 3 or 4 months or less I'm going to add 2 more mainlines to a raised section around the outside of the layout. Anyway here's some pictures. The 1st picture shows my supplies, #2 is the 3rd track on the left, #3 is the rail on the right,#4 is the rail all the way over against the front of the mountain, #5 is the rail on the far right, #6 is the rail where the yellow box car is sitting & #7 shows some of the layout. 1-25-25 What I did was remove a bunch of sidings that I hardly ever used & then moved track over & took at the turnouts where needed. I only have 1 turnout that goes into 1 Yard. I bought 3 new MRC Transformers for the 3 new mainlines. I have been running 2 old MRC Transformers for what I have now. I might move back to Arcadia,Fl. this year if I can find someones property,to put a metal building on. Hope I can get a 24 by 40ft again like I had before.

Been Building a lot of structures for Railroad maint. & Engine Shops, etc. I use Lego's for all my structures. Just this week I built 9 buildings. 4-1-25

This is so cool how you mixed Legos with the HO models. You should build a locomotive shell (Like for a f7 or something). I have done this once or twice.

Cool stuff. I've used Lego (the plural of Lego IS Lego) as structural components in several of my own builds, using ones left by my sons.
Christmas 2023, knowing I'm also a fan of commercial airliners, the wife surprised me with the Lego Concorde. Heck of a kit. Gear is retractable and nose can drupe.

A friend's wife has an amazing Lego collection, lots of the expensive stuff.
I asked him what some of those kits were worth and all he said was “it’s cheaper than a divorce!”

Well, It's happened again. Have to take my train layout down again. The road behind my sisters house is going to be widened to 4 lanes & the county has told us we have to move. They have already given us a price for the house which is the going price with what I have added which will be xtra in the price. I'm going to have to sell the whole layout before the move. I figured it would take me about 2 or 3 months in my spare time to take the layout all apart. I now have 5 mainlines & 2 of them are raised all the way around the 14 by 24ft layout. This time I'm not shipping anything. Whatever anyone buys will have to be picked up here in Covington, Ga. Today I'm going to start boxing up everything in Banana Boxes & marking what is in each one w/pictures. I figured I will have to start picking up boxes at WM & other stores close to me. Shipping charges are supposed to go up 28% by May 10th. I have over 65 Diesels, 320 freight cars, Lots of spare parts, tons of Bachmann NS EZ Track & lots of other HO scale stuff. When I had my Trains shipped from Arcadia,Fl. in 2023 I did it w/a U-Pack cube & there was 44 Banana boxes then with a mess of track in round mailing tubes. Now, I've got a lot more than that. I'm keeping all of my Lego. This time when I move I have to go back to Arcadia. BTW everything in running gear is DC only.

The last time I sold my layout in 2012 from Arcadia, Fl. it took me 3 months shipping stuff 6 days a week all over the world. I sold everything for 8 grand. Drove me crazy with Customs to the Phillipines, Italy, England, canada & about 10 other countries. Those Guys & gals that bought mostly engines were paying more for postage than what the item cost. Then I sold 80 engines & over 350 freight & pass. cars plus miles of NS Flex track & all the turnouts. Back then my layout was 24 by 40 ft. Back then I was building custom engines & crazy looking engines. Sold all of those. Then I started another layout in 2017. Ive been in this group since the 1st day. Bob Harbison started this Group originally. I thnk I was in the 1st 10 members. LOL

Been right here building another MRR Empire working 6 & 7days a week. I have Windows 11 & still haven't figured how to do pictures & send them. Maybe I'll work on that tomorrow & post a mess of pictures. I'm going to post all the stuff on FB Marketplace. I sold all my HO Scale buildings in June of 2023 for $250.00 & the guy that bought them drove almost 300 miles to pay & pick them up here in Georgia. Since I started this layout have only had about 8 or 10 visitors in 3 years. I gave away over a grand tied up in Tee shirts w/ my logo & I have a sign in the back window of my NissanCube. Never had 1 single person respond from either one of my promotions. Makes me sick. In Fla. I had 8 to 10 people every day & on the weekends had 20 to 40 visitors on sat.'s & sundays. I also had a few teens learning how to repair engines I had bought & rebuilt. had 1 14 yr. old that was a fantastic painter & he painted about 15 diff. engines for free & applied the decals. He wanted to learn about Trains. Him & his dad started a huge layout in Sarasota & went DCC.
