Hey N scale friends,
As I posted in my re-introduction thread, I’m getting back into modeling after about 1.5 year hiatus (move, new baby). I’ve also decided based on the room available to me that N scale would be a better fit. I’m not looking at prototyping any particular railroad, more of an “out of my head” type layout with some operating. While I’ve been digging through the forum I’ve been trying to find what a recommended radius would be but haven’t found an answer that would suit my particular needs. I have no locos or rolling stock yet for N either. Looks like I will have about a 12’ x 5 – 6’ area to build a layout but I want to start smaller (maybe modular?) and build on it over time.
Any recommendations on what range to try and stick with for track radius? Also, can anyone point me towards a good “beginners guide to N scale” book/magazine/other source?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help, looking forward to having some fun!
