I stumbled on some Union Pacific E units, 949 and 963. These are I believe the 2nd run before they went with Loc Sound. It was a good price and both units came with sound & LEDs etc. Only thing I do not like on this run as the ditch lights are not operable, I may have to upgrade that. We shall see.
Thanks, it definitely ticks all the boxes, one of the things I love about N. American locomotives are their varied liveries.
Although this is a "new"(ish) railroad it's supposed to run from Mexico and the USA to Canada I'm not sure they have much work at the minute.
Tariffs start 4/2/2025 so yes plenty of traffic still going across the borders. General Motors has been getting motors for all their SUV lines of vehicles stockpiled from Canada in a warehouse in Michigan. They are preparing

I have a buddy who has a couple sets of these. Honestly I can’t remember the light package on it but he has Tsunami2’s that he added to it. It’s a great looking combo
I got my Scale trains order today. The price was supposed to be $53 but because the wrong roof was on these cars they were discounted to $30. Fine with me. I'll have to test run them then head to the weathering table.
I rarely in the last 8 years run out of paint without a backup on the shelf. Today is that rare time. I used the last of my Hull Red xf-9 Tamiya Arcylic paint. I did order online last week from my normal supplier but it won’t be here for another week. The LHS is 4 miles away and does carry Tamiya. Zipped over there got the Hull Red and 3 others, a Pan Pastel and then bounced another mile to Michaels. There I got some orderless mineral spirits. After that the drive through at Portillo’s for a Chicago style dipped Italian Beef. I am home , ate the sandwich, delicious!
At the bench now and will concoct my special rust for underside of a freight car.
I wanted an Italian beef dipped, they over did it ( drenched) but still delicious. I no longer will buy the Chicago dog as the Madison locations don’t seem to know how to make them. Cold hot dogs when I was a kid were great. But not as an adult. Terry likes the salads and the chocolate cake thing they make.
Friday night fish fry and a quick trip to the LHS. Got the call my Central Valley tie strips and switch ties were in. 1 package of the tie strips were there with the switches and other pack of tie strips missing. The kid behind the counter was perplexed but I can finish my soon to start project with the bag I got. Just under $1.00 per foot. $46 for a 50’ and 50 piece bag
I surprised myself by adding a Walthers Proto Wisconsin Central coil car
A very nice car I will heavily weather and offer up for sale. First glance this is a nicer and definitely heavier car than the 2 Intermountain cars I just weathered. The WC is a huge seller in the Northwoods of Wisconsin
Sure put a few bucks in PayPal and it itches to get out.
I have reduced my locomotive fleet and am considering again eliminating all 6 axle units but that’s doubtful. But this early morning I purchased off of Facebook from a weathering client a Gp40-2W, a widebody cab. You know it was a great deal, I know him, the usual excuses…
He will mail it to my painter in Oklahoma to strip and repaint into another Wisconsin Interstate unit
If you need a great painter at a reasonable cost, Sammy Carlile is a super choice
I should see this and the other 2 units he has for me in June, Bowser Sd30eco’s
I like making trees. During the first round of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs I twist the wires for the armatures. I will form the branches in the later rounds. The goal this season is 300 armatures. I went to Michael’s and after the surprise of the higher than expected price increase I purchased 5 rolls of 22gauge and 2 rolls of 26 gauge wire. I’m now ready for the intermissions as I can’t handle the talking heads who know everything
I also purchased a new tub of Golden Molding paste. Here is an older tub as I put the new tub away before I remembered the picture. I use this for tree trunk bark and all over the scenery elements of the layout but especially the sides of ponds and rivers
