Mail Call! Railway Post Office, commonly abbreviated as RPO has rolled in!

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

Were you holding out on us, or did that all arrive in the same day? :D
All arrived on the same day, much to my surprise, I'd been expecting a letter to say how much import tax I would have to pay on the Intermountain loco and it came straight to me after customs, but I've noticed items from Canada don't attract import charges, but stuff from the US does,
the Accurascale Deltic I postponed delivery as I was away in Germany when it was originally supposed to be delivered, and the Pullman coaches I bought in the UK while I was in Germany

I couldn't resist this gem from Trix.

A huge train show today in Allentown, and hiding in the rear of one mans table was this kitbashed New Haven EP4:

Not super correctly done, but the paint and decal job is superb. Coincidentally the Metro North commuter railroad has just done one of their P32AC-DMs in that same paint scheme as one of their "Heritage Series": https://railfan.com/metro-norths-sixth-heritage-unit-pays-tribute-to-new-haven/

I’m one of those modelers that have a list of things I want, things I need and things I must have. The thing is for my layout I had the right mix of freight cars for the era I model, modern around 2015? Truly, I had enough

But on the Second Section Podcast a couple months ago the guys had Chris from HomeshopsLlc on the program. He showed off upcoming coil cars and heck what layout couldn’t use a couple more coil cars! Well, I also model within a budget that I busted right before the USA Inauguration ceremony for President Trump. Because of the threats of tariffs I sort of over indulged on models, electrical and scenic items for the layout. So the 2 coil cars were out of reach for now! But 2 weeks ago I had a bonus sale of containers and chassis I had unexpectedly come across. I purchased the 2 lots via a friend and immediately sold some JbHunt trailers to a regular commission client. Basically paying for all the containers and chassis I had purchased. Any thing now was pure and simple profit. Needless to say I’ve done very well.

It’s coil cars time. I purchased a Eagle River and Kankakee RR

and a Seaboard Central car

The cars are freelance and while distributed by HomeShopsLLC.net the cars are produced by Intermountain Railway. They are wonderfully done and each car comes with 2 coils that are metal and have a good heft to them.

I’m very happy with the cars

Well the Trix Scotsman arrived earlier this week.

But what a pain this has been, it would run on default but not on 0103 or103, (my prefered number) lost count of the number of times I had to do a factory reset, nearly sent it back, took a stab at using 502 as it's DCC address and it worked, I can't get the steam generator to work either, appears I need an extra 3-5v for that, it needs 16-19v and the Zephy only has 13v to track.

I know how frustrating that kind of thing can be… good looking engine though 🙂

Trix is well known for a quality product. Kinda surprised you are having issues.
I don't have any desire to collect or run any locomotives from "across the pond", but this one looks great.
