My wife swears by Amazon for our Grand Daughters birthday and christmas - she is in Anchorage and it is easier to have things shipped directly to her. Like you my wife ONLY buys from amazon IF it ships from amazon - she has been caught out too many times buying from (supposedly) amazon just to discover it is being shipped from some place in California and so forth.

My wife also used to swear by Prime BUT learnt if you spend X amount with Amazon (not a third party) you'd get free shipping anyway. She never bought enough to justify the $9.00 o what ever it was per month for prime.

I guess where I am concerned, I prefer to buy from a retailer who I can speak with if something goes wrong, someone who actually took my order and (quite possibly) shipped it like Robin and Mike Fifer of Fifers Hobbies. Nothing worse than having to talk to someone about a problem whose very first words are "I am sorry to hear about your issues" etc etc etc when they really don't give a rats because they had nothing to do with it. But that's just me - I'm what people call a dinasaur and I take that as a compliment and sign of respect :)

Well I got a surprise "win" on ebay last week with this Thomas Yorke oldie kit. I was expecting a wood kit got it and Hydrocal which is nice in my opinion.

Also shown, the standing seam roofing material also a new little Jordan kit. This 1925 Ford is just like one my great Uncles owned, looking forward to getting it on the layout

color photo included in the kit. This one I actually got cheaper than the price on the box, 21.00 paid but shipping brought it up to 33 I think, still a super good value looks like a nice kit!

The panel truck I paid $20 for so an investment in this item would have yielded big returns.

The problem with DHL although it is a good company, once outside the US it's often handed off to another (cheaper) company to deliver, like Evri so unless you quite literally pay through the nose for DHL to deliver it. I don't know how Tom sent his box to me, but it arrived by Royal Mail, which is to the good as their far more reliable than Evri, if it can't be delivered they have to return it to their local parcel depot and you have to go and collect it.
I only use the United States Postal System to send out packages anywhere in the world.

Well I bid on the Jordan B-2 steam shovel many times, finally won but paid a mint (total cost $82 for two complete new steam shovels, shipping included). The guy had two for sale in one listing (ebay) so I went from zero to 2, these kits look like they were in vacuum storage as boxes did not even show wear. Looks like great instruction sheets.

looks like fun, not sure what project I will begin next.

Have heard good things about circus city.
Matt at CircusCitydecals.com is a really fine graphics artist by training and tradecraft. He has been making decals for years and a few years ago he went full time into the decals and 3D printing. He is a wonderful guy. His dad and I are friends and the dad’s layout is a must see in the Wisconsin Model Railroad community.

I don’t believe you will go wrong buying from Circuscitydecals.com
