Bad news, Hattons in the UK who just bought them just announced they are to cease trading and close down. Huge shock for UK model industry and overseas too.
Trying to move away from the U.K. and moving the whole shot to the U.S. maybe? It makes me wonder why they went to the effort of buying and closing Kleins, if they were going out of business.
They aren't Bankrupt, just closing down in the UK. and as Mike suggests moving to the US, which would explain the MBK buyout.Hmmmm, what occurs to me is: Buy a bunch of stuff then declare bankruptcy after ya hide it all away. They will just declare the stock they get from Kliens as used, then the stake holders of Hattens divies it up between them. We'll see all that stuff on ebay soon.
They are having a closing down sale, but very few items they have interest me.As I mentioned on another thread ---
No new stock arriving from China which should have arrived October/November 2023. Hattons therefore cannot fulfil their Christmas orders. Their second hand stuff is now at the end. No sales. End of the line.

Since Ted Klein, the original owner passed away, all those things have been in the past. What are the odds the reorg will result in faster service, lower prices, and a better customer experience?![]()
Unlikely, you know how US companies love unnecessary bureaucracy. What are the odds the reorg will result in faster service, lower prices, and a better customer experience?![]()
In the name of reduced operating costs...Unlikely, you know how US companies love unnecessary bureaucracy.
I've never worked out how having so many highly paid employees, making low-level decisions and leaving the lower paid employees to make no decisions reduces costs. In the name of reduced operating costs...
Likewise here.I’ll just keep going to my local hobby shops and train shows while they still exist.
