OK, we're only like 10 minutes in, but holy crap. Users online went from 1,000 (999 spammers) to 4.
Server load is 10% of what it was and the place is running super fast. I hope this holds up!
Yup, a 'clickable' to enter - great and simple. Bot's still can not click ( mouse down ) on the screen anywhere ...yet. Site is screaming, got through a bunch of posts and threads in 1/4 of the time previously. Now if the 'scroll-up' thingie on the bottom of the page can go away.... or at least a way to 'opt out'. Ads do nothing for me - I don't think I have ever clicked one since 11/2010.

Never seen that here. What are you posting about???
Willie: I'm seeing an ad 'bar' that slides up at the bottom of the screen every time I go to a new page or thread. Pop-ups are blocked in Firefox, so I assume it is not my side of things... For giggles and grins I will try DuckDuckGo and see what shakes out. Firefox is becoming pretty bloated...

[Edit] Yup
was Firefox... DDG seems to be OkieDokie...

Hmmmh! I use Firefox, but I have AdBlockPlus, and don't have that issue.

Google randomly ads crap and sends an email “we’ve optimized your ads” then I have to go try to figure out how to delete them. Ugh.

It wasn’t the browser, I turned them off (until Google Ads changes it again.)

Meanwhile, it's slow again. Why? DDOS attack from Singapore, apparently locking them out annoyed them. 600K hits today. Hope that counts for google ads! (It doesn't)

OK, now that I'm home, Mr Annoyed Hacker in Singapore has been blocked and the DDOS attack is over. For now at least anyway, we'll see what happens.
Now I'm wondering if dropping info you have to whatever authorities in Singapore might be interested could be helpful. It's a country which comes down HARD on drug trafficking, for example (the death penalty), and I wouldn't be surprised if hacking penalties are severe, also and even if the hacks are aimed at targets overseas.

Of course I could be completely wrong, too, but maybe worth an inquiry or three?

Hackers are a dime a dozen in that country, and an attack on a little forum like this isn't going to get anyone's attention. Besides all I have is an IP address, which is quite likely spoofed. I'd basically be saying "Hey some guy in your country is spamming me!" Not a lot to go on.
