I recently joined HOYARDSALES and since then I have send 3 posts to be the administrator to be posted for stuff I was looking for. I have gotten 3 emails back from the administrator telling me stuff was wrong. The first post was right cause I posted N scale stuff for sale. The 2 and 3 was very specific on what I was looking for and I got messages from the administrator telling me I needed more detail. I posted more and resubmitted and more emails about missing stuff. I think HOYARDSALES is a huge joke. I plan on using this great site from now on and leaving HOYARDSALES.

I have no problems with Patrick and the HOYardSale group.

Just read the rules I guess. Too bad your having troubles cause I have found it to be a great use.

I stopped buying stuff off of Ebay & now buy 99% from HOYardSales. Great outlet for HO scale trains & stuff. Fantastic prices if your fast enough to reply to a seller.

I have not had any problems with HOYARDSALE. I think that the rules in place are reasonable.

If you could post his responses here, I can tell you why he said what he said.

to late

I read the rules after the first post and I have post the same way the others have posted to the site. I see people post all the time on there with minimun information and it is posted. I just wrote a message to post that said I was looking for a 3 to 4 bay grain hopper undecorated prefered and any make would be fine. I recieved an email back that said I needed more information on what i was looking for. I resent the message stating that any company from Atlas, intermountain, athearns, and another other comapny producing cars I would be interested in. I restated the fact i was looking for ANY road name. I recieved another message telling me that still I didnt have enough information. I then deleted the message and the post and left the group. I dont have time to waste messing with small details. I will continue to post of this great site.

Can you still post non-media related items on media weekends? Cause right now its a media weekend.....

Maybe it's not an issue with HOYardSale, but perhaps an issue with your typing?

I generally don't point out another users spelling or grammar errors because everyone makes them, it's usually not a big deal, and that approach is typically the last straw to be grasped when multiple users are arguing and there are no other points to be made.

However, in both of your posts there are copious amounts of grammar, spelling, word usage, punctuation, and redundant mistakes. Now, I'm not jabbing at you personally, but when I read such posts my eyes glaze over and I skip right over what is being said, because it makes little to no sense. Maybe that's part of the issue? I wouldn't want to try and decipher someones incoherent postings either.

Some friendly advice that has been passed on through years and years of schooling (and it applies as much now on the internet as it did in papers) is to read out loud what you wrote. You'll see and hear any mistakes you've made which allows you correct them before posting.

I understand you probably wrote this original post in haste and in a rant, and maybe that compounded the outlined issues, but if not, and that's how your postings came across on HOYardSale, then maybe he just didn't want to deal with them?

I've have bought and sold many items on HOYardsale. I have made errors in some entries but Patrick emails the rejection, I correct it and it passes, no issue here.

Hoyardsales

I have been bought a few things here and there off HOYARDSALES and it has been a good experience. I just dont like the fact that I cannot get my stuff posted to sale or even the stuff I am looking for.

As for the gramatical thing, well thats just me. It is not an uneducated thing but more of the fact I am use to computer language. I am a information systems administration security engineer and I am forever writing and reading code to allow windows operating systems to perform multiple tasks. I guess I let that part of the job (all the short hand and computer jargan) get in the way. I will try to watch some of the errors from here on out.

Not sure what to say, but all I can figure is your post was vague. Patrick is very specific with what he allows to be posted, the reason being is he wants the other party to be able to understand what you want.

I cannot speak for specifics, but posting "I would like to buy Undecorated 3 to 4 bay covered hoppers. Any manufacturer is fine, as long as they're undecorated.
First Name/Last Name" should work. Title it "WTB Undec Covered Hoppers"...

I always add "email me off list, [email protected]" with my name, to ensure people know how to contact me.

In any case, have you checked out Model Railroad Sales?

Honestly the way you just posted that example was my first post. Then i had to keep putting more and more in. I have had a terrible week so after I settle down this week some I may add that site back and try again.

Hey dont give up on that site. Personally, when it comes to selling and buying train items at fair prices, I think it's the best thing since sliced bread.

Gee, I've used their FREE service several times with no problems whatsoerver, sold my items right away. One message did not get posted because Patrick himself bought my items!

The fact that you attempted to post N scale items on a site very clearly marked for HO scale probably had Patrick checking out your message more closely.

"Everyone in the parade is out of step except me"!

I think I tied to use that site but couldn't because you need a yahoo address, is that correct?
Seems yahoo needs way too much info to get one.
Let me know if I'm wrong, I'd love to browse...

ahh, just trtied to get on Yahoo again... tried twelve addresses and as many passwords.
It just don't like me...

Sure the Yahoo ID page has space for all kinds of info, but you don't need to fill any of it out, other than a word for your ID and your password. It will work without your real name, age, location, etc.; just leave them blank.

Don't know what you mean by "twelve addresses". Alternate e-mail addresses?

Sounds like a big part of your problem is N scale stuff on HOYARDSALE. I have never had a problem with the group. I have bought and sold a lot of things up there. As long as you follow the basic rules of the group, their is not problem at all!

Scale items

I tried to post that one N scale item. All posts after that have been for HO only. I clearified that in the posting. I did re join the group again last night. I tryed again this morning to post a wanted ad for HO undecorated covered 3 or 4 bay hopper cars and again it was kicked back to me. I am just gonna use that site to buy from and stick to ebay to sale my stuff. I didnt mean to start a huge argument session with this I just posted the issues I had been having problems with. I will continue to use that site to buy only.
