The Stasi was among the most oppressive police forces in the world, deeply embedding itself into nearly every facet of life in East Germany, relying on torture, fear, and an extensive web of informants to stamp out dissent.

Daily Quote

I am sure that if every leader who goes into battle will promise himself that he will come out either a conqueror or a corpse, he is sure to win. There is no doubt of that. Defeat is not due to losses but to the destruction of the Soul of the leaders--the 'live to fight another day' doctrine.
- General George S. Patton Jr.

Got to love The Who! While that was before my time, it was a great age for music. Much better (in my opinion) than most of today's music. I often joke that I was born in the wrong time.😃

The last time we saw The Who was at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin in 1989. We forgot our ear plugs and we were about 30’ from the stage and the biggest array of speakers I had ever seen. That is where we believe Terry’s hearing issues started. She could barely hear for 3 days after.

A year later at Alpine Valley Stevie Ray Vaughn died in a helicopter crash on the property. IMO he was the best guitarist I saw live

That is the 100 series. The -200 added 20' to the fuselage using a 10' plug ahead of and behind the wing. This aircraft had the best short-field performance of anything in its class. The unique Fowler/Krueger wing flap system was also particular to this aircraft. When flaps were set to 40° the wing area increased by 25% to allow very slow and short landings into smaller fields.

If you've never watched a 727 wing dis-assemble itself in flight, it is quite a fascinating sight.

I love this airplane. Always have, always will.

Everywhere I go I'm asked if I think the university stifles writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them.
