Hey, I am new to the hobby - I have always had a train or 2 but I am considering putting up a big layout.

I have a specific question about this engine: Bachmann HO # 60112-FT-A Unit-B&O.-DCC Equipped.

Does anyone know if this has a flywheel? I have had engines in the past that just have a motor connected to the wheels with no flywheel weights. I believe that this is mostly for lower end stuff, and I have recently picked up some engines with the flywheel that run a lot less like the "toys" that I had back in the day.

I am also going to get into the DCC stuff and this will be my first one, so I would rather get one that has decent moves.

Thanks!

Sorry. The only Bachmann engine that I have has moving eyes up front and a big goofy grin! (Thomas)

Welcome to the hobby and the forum. You'll have an answer soon. There are some VERY experienced and knowledgeable cats here.

Yeah, It should have a flywheel, Alot of chatter I've heard about them on the forums is that they're heavy, pull real well, run smoothly, and suprised the crap out of alot of people expecting Bachmann to still be bad in quality.

Bachmann certianly had come along way and they've had their image repaired as far as I'm concerned, they're making EXCELLENT things, and this is one of them. and hey, for only $29.99 at trainworld.com I see no reason at all not to buy an A-B-B-A Set of them! :)

Hope this helps! And Welcome, I look forward to photos!
