Hi, I'm David....
I live in Southwest Georgia and have had an interest in trains since I was 4 years old. I have a HO layout that is supposed to represent the West Point Route railroads in the year "1964". (that's where "westpoint64" comes from) I put "1964" in quotation marks because "mid to late 1960s" might be a better way to describe the era my locomotives and rolling stock represent.
As far as the prototype railroads I like...let's see....I like Maine Eastern, Georgia Northeastern, Georgia and Florida (the old one and the 'Railnet' one, too), CSX (dark future), Union Pacific, CN, Conrail, L&N, NC&StL, Wisconsin Central,
Georgia Southwestern, The Bay Line, SCL, MKT, Missouri Pacific, Rock Island, GM&O, New England Central, Frisco, Southern, some Boston and Maine, some British Railways, and Southern Pacific's 'Daylight' paint scheme....there's probably other railroads I like too, those are the ones that come to mind...
My favorites are NS, Seaboard Air Line, the Georgia Group (GA railroad/Atlanta and West Point/Western Railway of Alabama), Central of Georgia, and the Pennsy.
Glad to be aboard...woo,woo!! LOL

Where in GA? I live in a little town called Oglethorpe about an hour south of Macon and I live in Columbus. I'm currently modeling 50s-60s N&W coal drags through the appalachians.

Hi,bigredva!....I live in Worth County, in the Albany area...I know where Oglethorpe is. I've been up there several times. I've also hung out at Oglethorpe's sister city, Montezuma. In fact, a friend of mine once modeled Oglethorpe on his Central of Georgia HO layout.
Wow, N&W in the 50s....that is so cool..Y6b's...all that steam and those beautiful J-class 4-8-4's like the 611. That's a wonderful railroad and time period.

Yeah, the railroad and the period give me a lot of leeway with equipment and scenery. I haven't gotten much done beyond my benchwork and my helix. It's in N scale so finding equipment has been difficult at times, I've been looking all over for the 2-8-8-2 with DCC and sound.
I meant I work in Columbus, well actually on Ft. Benning.
