I don't know enough about Märklin trains to be able to answer your question specifically. What makes you think that the track is wrong? Märklin is usually three rail AC models but that may not be true in every case. You didn't provide a picture of the bottom view of the loco, so it's hard to tell if it is two-rail DC or three-rail AC. Edit your thread title to include the word Märklin in it and our resident Märklin expert, Michael, will take notice.

What’s wrong about the tracks? The engine seems to be three rail AC, and the tracks are also three rail.
Nothing wrong with that track. The center conductors are in the center of the sleepers.
The pick-up skis ride over those little nubs in the center. Too bad Lionel couldn't come up with something as unobtrusive as Märklin did.
Thanks i was thinking i bought some tyco stuff

I don't know what you paid for those as used, but those are very expensive trains when bought new. These are top of the line German trains, and they are still made entirely in Goppingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

I bought both sets for about 75.00
What do you think the value should be
You did alright for what you paid. The Br.01 locomotive in that set is worth at least what paid for everything.
Thanks , it was the last day of the estate sale, 50% off. Im missing a power supply. Where is a good spot to buy some stuff. Thats not expensive
E-bay is always an option if you're careful. Trainz.com is another source. Make certain the Märklin transformer you buy is for US voltage and frequency.
That's a Marklin AC train set and track.
The sliders you see on the bottom of the engine trucks pick up power from the center "3rd rail" (which is not "a rail", but is instead those little pins you see on the center of the ties).
You CAN'T use this with a "normal" HO DC power pack (which supplies DC voltage to the 2 rails).
It requires a Marklin AC transformer/power pack that sends AC to the rails.
BE SURE you make that clear if you put this set up for sale.
I'm pretty certain he's clear about what he has. We went over all of this yesterday.
I seen a few power supplies , anywhere 20 bucks and up. Are they pretty much the same.

Most of the ones I've seen at that price are N/Z power packs, which are both DC and underpowered for HO.
This is what would have been included in your set. No affiliation with the seller. Vet them well, and make certain it works. I would not accept, "no way to test, as-is only" or words to that effect. That gets them off the hook with e-Bay when they send you a piece of junk.
