Helo from Australia my name is Dave I am living in subtropical Queensland Oz,:) age 67 and Married.

Have been involved in this great hobby for many years and have built several layouts including British OO, Australian HO, Japanese N, I am currently in the early stages of building a new freelance N Scale American layout.

I find model railroading to be the most rewarding hobby there is but I am not a perfectionist or expert, always willing to learn from others and help where possible, hope to meet new friends on this forum.

Cheers
Dave.

Hi, Dave. Good to have a newcomer, even if he has to scream to be heard from so far away. :D I hope to see some photos and updates as you muddle through this latest project.

Hi Dave, :)

Glad to have you aboard. Please do post some pics of your modelling. It's always fascinating to see different techniques.
( ...and I'm a sixties oldtimer too ;) )

Take Care,

Greg

Welcome aboard!
Always wondered how you guys down there get the trains to hang on to the track if you're upside down! ;)

Thank you all for the warm welcome, nice to be here and hope to get involved rather than just looking from the outside.

Cheers
Dave

Welcome Dave. I would love to see the Australian HO if you have any photos available. I am learning more and more that people overseas are just as serious (if not more) about model railroading as we are in America. this furher inspires me to travel the world when I retire.

G'day Dave and welcome from another cane toad. You will find a lot of useful info here and they are a friendly mob even if you can't understand them sometimes.

Sadly my HO scale Oz layout was built in the 1980 so I cant help you with photos but rest assured that there are model railroad fanatics the world over, the Australian market although small compared to the USA has a very enthusiastic following, New Zealand is in a similar situation to Oz with a homespun market and a several locos produced by Fratechi, of course the UK and European market has always been catered for with continental manufacturers, the reason I am involved with American modeling is because the equipment runs very well is reasonably priced and available.
