I am looking for HO scale decals for Burlington Route (C.B.&Q.) passenger cars, black letters. All the places I've looked show Microscale decals out of stock! Any suggestions?

Thanks! I am going to try to redecorate some heavyweight passenger cars from Pulman green to either aluminum or gray, the way the Q did in the '50's, when they replaced the shadowline striping with plain colors. I need the black BURLINGTON names to apply after I paint the cars. These cars were upgraded internally so they could have their useful life extended. That was cheaper than ordering more lightweight stainless steel cars to meet the post-WWII passenger demands...before the Interstate Highway system and airlines made passenger trains decline.

With the decals on the way, I need to figure out how to come up with "aluminum" color and a brand of paint that will work on the plastic of the old Athearn Blue Box. I won't be airbrushing them, so it will have to be something I can brush on. Any help will be appreciated.

K4 Decals is good source. Lots of road names and scales available. I've purchased quite a few from them over the past several years. Matter of fact, I'm working on painting and decaling a Lionel Standard 'O' box car (true 1/48 scale) right now.

Note for 3-rail O-gaugers:
For Traditional-sized and most O27-sized trains, S-scale decals (3/16"/ft, or 1/64th scale) both fit and look much better. The O-scale decals, while perfect for true 1/48th scale, are generally a little (or a lot) too big for Traditional-sized and smaller 3-rail trains.

If not Tamiya, Vallejo and the military model acrylics paint makers have aluminum colors, good for airbrushing.
