I'm getting close to being finished this diorama. I spent a lot of time working on little things and adding details. I had sort of a change in my plan. I decided to make the bigger building the antique store and the smaller one something else. That didn't really work out ether because I ended up with more stuff than I thought.

This is just a portion of the things I came up with.

Just to give a perspective of the size, here's a tea cup in my hand.

I made a sign for the front of the building out of wood and paper.

I must have rearranged everything about 100 times. Here's a couple pictures with all the stuff in place.

Dave, amazing work from every aspect! Excellent use of the salt weathering (which is a very useful technique for effects, i use it in scale aircraft). Did you scratchbuilt all these little detail items (like the tea cup)?

I can see a few things I'd like held please!
So what's next, might I suggest a train station? ;)

Dave:

I love the detail and appreciate the effort that went into creating this diorama. If you ever get tired of being in the antiques business, add an auctioneer and a few more people and there's your going out of business sale!

I didn't scratch build everything. Some are castings, some are little things from kits, a couple things are just bits and pieces of "stuff" that looks like something.

I have a list of dioramas that I want to build but, I don't know what's next. I'm probably going to do a few little projects, maybe a Studebaker truck.
A train station isn't on my list. I don't have any trains.

I think you just floored all of us then, Dave

Sorry, I like trains. I want trains. It's a space problem and mostly a money issue. I've custom painted and weathered a lot of rolling stock and trolleys I've pictured how cool they would look on the layout that I have pictured in my head. Maybe someday I'll do a shelf layout or something small.

You're not alone there Dave, I'm lucky to have a couple of clubs within 1/2 an hour or so's distance, so I can run mine at them. Worse is, I have got the space, but...................politics.

Fantastic work Dave.
I,m about to start my first Craftsman kit, if it turns out half as good as your work I will be very happy.
