How ambitious are yu to build your railroad in sections or tackle a large layout?
Much will depend on the house you get for space and available configuration.
Make a list of the things you gotta have, the things you wanta have soon and things that would be nice to have. Write your list in pencil and have a big eraser handy,
Buy ONLY things that are on your gotta have list until later.
Good luck. Remember: this advice is worth exactly what you paid for it!
Define "thru out the house"? Sounds like it is raised above door level. Going through walls over doors can be tricky as there can be extra structural headers and the like in there. In the up coming years im buy a place and running atlas code 100 track thru out the house. Just as you said thru walls above doors and all. Im building the house so ill know where all the spots are. I was going to use UP CPKC CSX NSFS because it run two main states missouri and Georgia the connector states are trickyDefine "thru out the house"? Sounds like it is raised above door level. Do you mean you want to model all 4 railroads? CP is now CPKC. The Canadian Pacific purchased the Kansas City Southern about 3 years ago.
The connector states are in the walls between rooms. The railroad will be just as you

From Missouri are you going to go through Illinois and Kentucky, or Arkansas first? To help explain the layout more better. Entry main front. Missouri side 50'x16' connector bottom 50'x16' connector top 40'x16' georgia side 50'x16' back entry
