I can identify with the heat others are having. The heat index here is supposed to be 111 today. Guess who won't be out much this afternoon.

Weather guy just said temp is 84 humidity is 73%. Don't know what that translates into index wise but I am out in the shop cutting step stringers for the deck and sweat is running down my head, back and all other lower areas it can get to. Wet! Wet!! Wet!!! is what I is.

No thankyou Chris, We're too busy cutting up some trees in our neighbourhood that got split by lightning:eek::eek:

There was a nasty bunch of storms that barrelled through here last night that gave us a tremendous lightshow and constant thrashing/crashing and Booming sounds---and a whole pile of rain again. Yesterday we peaked at 35C with the humidity at 95%

Then this afternoon rolls around and a bunch of very monsoony showers and boomlets charged through---It is a little cooler and a bit less sticky---supposed to go to 16C for the low tonight---Oh, we got to 30C with the humidity at 88% before the dang things showed up:eek:

I am dillusional 7 AM to 3 PM Monday thru Friday. The rest of the time I am somewhere between confused and out of my mind.

Good morning folks

It was a muggy 77 F as I rolled on to highways this morning. Our high will be 90 F with the possibility of a thunderstorm later today.

With the heat and humidity yesterday it was a good day to just take it easy and stay in air conditioning. I just kind of lounged around the house with the rest of the family last evening. We watched some TV, played a couple of board games.

I hope everybody has a good day.

How about disillusioned Tuesday?

Yep. That sounds more like it....grumble mumble complain grouch:mad::mad::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::):)

-----------------------------------------

the current temperature is 22C with the humidity at 95% and our high will be 26C. The weatherguessers have a 50% chance of showers and those t'underin'boomers for us today---we had another batch of them go through last night--thankfully not as aggressive on our poor trees but rain? Sheeesh:eek::eek::eek:

There is supposed to be a neighbourhood BBQ this afternoon so maybe we'll go to that and see what happens---

Have a good one---:D:D:D

Good morning.

It's 78 and partly cloudy. The high will be about 96 and there's a chance of rain.

Yesterday I received the backdrop materials I ordered from Walther's last week. I really like the crispness and clarity of the Busch woods background scenes. The Detail Associates stuff isn't quite as crisp but it'll do. The Detail Associates scenes are piece that you cut out and mount where you want them. I got one with farm town buildings, another has land scenes of a rural nature and the third has woods scenes. I started on the "Skip's Chicken and Ribs" DPM kit yesterday and got it all together last night. It still needs some more work but is already on the layout. I may have time today to get started on the "Robert's Dry Goods" kit. There was a bit of an emergency in the family last night. Just after 7 pm I got word that my mother needed help. No info, just that she needed help. My sister and I went down to see what was going on. It seems that she hadn't paid attention to the time and had gone without eating anything since a light breakfast she'd had that morning and now didn't have enough energy to get up much less stand. Her blood sugar level was in the high 30's. That would never do. I gave her 5 cookies to eat. That's 11 grams of sugar. That got her blood sugar up to an acceptable level while I heated up a baked potato and some ribs she had brought home the previous day. She was doing OK when I left to come back home. I went back to check on her a couple of hours later. By then my father was home and could help her if needed it. She was feeling fine and was her usual cheerful self.

Well its 96 in the shade here. Flippn hotter in the sun. My job search continues. Thanks to those who commented kind words of understanding etc. Since last Tuesday I have pounded on a lot doors and shook out the rugs in my search for a job. Looks I maybe pulling my stakes and heading north to NC. We will see in a couple more days. I will give it until the 20th or so. I have never been unemployed before this is rather humbling. Talk to yall later I will be lurking a bit. I will survive fine just dont like not working. I did take a little R&R on the weekend to recharge my batteries....later!

Jeffrey, BS in the 30's!!!!!!!!!! She's lucky she wasn't in an irreversible coma!!!!!! That can happen with readings in the 40's. If nothing else, she needs to keep some fruit around to snack on.

Alcomotive, I haven't held a real job for 2 years. I had my businesses, but those weren't work. Building engines at the shop was more like a part time gig. I worked on a stool at a bench with an engine in front of me, a parts tray to the right and the bench at my back. And was in the office an my butt in a chair drinking coffee most of the time.

It seems that companies don't want a person that gets things done that is 56 years old, diabetic, with a bad back. So it goes. I really don't need the money, but would surely like the benefits. These medical bills are not cheap and some insurance would be nice. Give me more money for trains and such.

And, Flo, I'll have some of what he's having.

Bob

Tell me about it. I've been down in the high 20's myself a couple of times. I keep a candy bar or two around to munch on if need be. There's also a couple of pear trees an easy walk away also, so that makes it a little easier this time of year. Of course there's nothing that'll blow your blood sugar out of the water like a few slices of wheat bread. It's the highest on the glicemic index with white and rye right behind it. Pumpernickel is the lowest.
