Jeff We had a variation of that when I was stopped at an intersection. I'm in the left turning lane and a lady behind me went into the lane to the right and tried to beat me around the corner:rolleyes: I went around the corner on an advanced green, she tried to beat me around said corner and a police car shows up and gives her chase----she later got to the mall, saw me and started in on me about being in HER lane---:rolleyes::rolleyes:
I really gets me sometimes how many think they're the ones that are right no matter how wrong what they were doing was.

Here's another one. I was driving my father's pickup one day as my car was in the shop. I pulled into a space at Lowe's. There weren't any vehicles to either side of the spot I pulled into. When I came back out to the truck there was a car parked next to it. The car had a big dent in the door, low down. The woman who owned the car claimed that I had hit her door when I pulled in next to her and she was going to sue for the damage. Knowing full well that she was lying through her teeth I told her I was going to call the police and have a report made out. She said that I shouldn't do that as it would make my insurance rates go up and that I should pay her cash for the damage. I then suggested that we go see the store manager and have a look at the security video. I wanted to see how I could pull into a spot and hit a car that wasn't there. She then threw up her hands, got in her car and left, but not before I got her license tag number, description of vehicle, etc. I wrote it all up and turned it in on attempted fraud. The things some people try to do.

Good morning folks.

I've been building kits at a fairly good pace these days. With fall just around the corner, I need to get all of my spray painting out of the way. The buildings are getting painted, assembled, and set aside. The weathering and detail work can come later. It's also satisfying my need to move things along. As the buildings are built, I can start to visualize how my town will come together. Almost instant gratification! I may get some time later today to continue this building spree. There is one thing that I'm learning with all of this painting, I need an airbrush. The finished product would come out so much better with more control of the paint. Some day soon I hope.

I hope you folks have a great day!

Relaxing morning got some work done on Angels Leap Bridge.:) Man What a tough project, I still got the gard rails and couple of details to take care of:eek:. Now on to the matching Tunnel portals and scenery around Angels Leap!:)

Hi All...thank you for the prayers for my Dad. He is doing MUCH better and may be released by Tuesday.

My friends and family threw a bday party for me today. What a blast! Our count right now stands at 97 folks who joined us. They had planned on about 50, but alot of folks who were there surprised us. My brother and his family flew in from San Antonio and a friend flew in from Jackson Hole Wyoming.

They surprised me with a new camera and a laptop which I am having fun using right now :D

My sister made a scrapbook filled with notes and messages from some who could not attend. I spent nearly an hour opening cards and notes. The whole day was a huge blessing! After the party was over, several of us moved it to the hospital and included my Dad in on the festivities. We wore him out, but he seemed to enjoy it.

We had brisket, potato salad, fruit trays, lasagna(s) veggie platters, corn dishes and cake and ice cream. Delish!

Ahhhhh...life is good!

Hope you all had a teriffic day, too!

Sandy

Good morning folks

It was a sticky 75 F as I headed in this morning. High today will be 87 F with the possibility of thunderstorms. It looks like summer and the accompanying humidity have arrived.

We had some nasty storms last night and overnight. There are huge areas without power and many roads are closed this morning due to down trees and utility poles. I hope my son is staying dry at Boy Scout Summer Camp.

I have not been around for the past few days because of a host of things happening. Where do I start?

On Wednesday just before lunch my wife called me at work from the zoo and said she was in excruciating pain and was going to the ER. She was worried about her car and someone having to get it so she was going to drive the 25 miles to the hospital she wanted to go to. Before I could protest she hung up. So about an hour later I met up with her in the ER waiting room. After a long wait in the waiting room and some tests we found out that she has kidney stones. So they gave her some great pain medication which meant she could not drive. So we took her car home and I went back for my car using the Media Trolley and the P&W.

Thursday was catch-up day at work so I did not get much time to visit the forums. Friday, to celebrate our 2-day pay, we decided to go out in the field. We spent the day measuring areas for work on one of our projects. Unfortunately for us we did not realize how much work this road is going to need. What we thought was a simple shovel-ready project is going to be a nightmare to complete in the next five weeks.

Saturday I spent the day replacing our master bathroom sink faucet. The faucet went in pretty easy even though a trip to Home Depot was required. I knew the trip was going to happen but I needed to disassemble the old faucet first to see exactly what water line feeds I would need. The sink stopper on the other hand required a trip to the local hardware store and several reinstallations of the trap and piping before I got it working and not leaking. I then had to unclog the other 2nd floor bathroom sink and repair a leak in the drain on it.

Yesterday we spent the day on the road. We took my son to Boy Scout Camp at Resica Falls Scout Reservation near East Stroudsburg, PA. One the way home we picked up the next project at Sears: an 18,000 BTU air conditioner for the first floor. Our existing A/C unit died on Saturday. So we get the A/C home and I start removing the old one. I get the unit out and I am having trouble getting the case out of the window. I am in the middle of this when the lightening starts. We get the case out of window just before the rain comes crashing down. I then discover that the bracing system they have with the new A/C won’t work in our unit. After the storm past I put the case in the window and came up with a plan. I do intend on hitting Home Depot and see if I can get a bracing system similar to the old A/C, but if not I have a back-up.

I am having issues with the decals Accurail gives you to renumber cars. They are not adhering to the car bodies. This is the first time I have had this happen. I am not sure if it is the decals, they seem thicker than other decals I have used or if it is the Solvset I am using. The Solvset is a few years old. Does it go bad?

Tonight I continue the fight with A/C unit.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Happy...uh...uh...18+th Birthday Sandy, LOL:D! Glad your Dad is doing much better ;):).

The economy is working for Flo, needing a larger feeding trough every few months. Thanks Flo for keeping the old seats. (Hate to break-in new ones!)

Hope all are well. Things good this end, but still working around the house. If I don't do it all before football season, it won't get done for another year.

Jeffery- We would like to have you visit Alabama. but, please leave your strange neighbors in Louisiana.
We have enough strange folks in Alabama with me, Jim and Rex! :D

I actually got to visit my train room last night. At least long enough to pick up a bottle of Elmer's white glue for my grandson starting kindergarden in a couple weeks. It is amazing how quickly everything acquires a coat of dust!

I am into the 12th day of laying a hardwood floor in the living room and den area. My knees start to hurt every time I walk into that room. And I didn't sprend very much time on my knees praying.
At least all my bench work experience was useful. My routine, with the son-in-law running the staple gun, was cut and measure, cut and measure, cut and measure, cut and cuss. I cut a couple pieces too short!

Saturday, we finished laying about 315 square feet of random length planks, the longest being about 30" long. We culled about 50% of the first 100 square feet, then we started using pieces with splits, knotholes and broken tongues or grooves. We had about 4 square feet left over.

I still have to finish patching holes with wood putty and sand the floor smoother. I'm hoping the last coat of varnish will be dry in 10 more days.

My cats love hiding in the pile of furniture stacked up in the dining room and my wife asked how I thought the chairs would look on the other side of the living room. Maybe, I'll only have to move the furniture one more time... this year!

Anyhow, I'll refrain from harrassing anyone for another couple weeks.

Good Evening

Day 1 of the report writing. I found a whole bunch of odd questionnaires that needed some followup, so I did those and then started up the clearing out of box 1. Sheesh the paperwork:eek::eek:

I've discovered that the trainroom blackhole swallowed up a bunch of scratchbuilding material on me----back to the LHS :rolleyes::rolleyes:

And we did get the local t'underin'boomlets ag'in for this afternoon--when I got home I found that the back yard now has a river going to the front to drain out on to the street----now we need a bridge for our front:eek::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Have a good evenin':):)
