Good Morning--

I see we are now having giant echo chambers again--:rolleyes::rolleyes:

We're getting fog this morning with a cool temperature of 16C. It'll be about 26C later today. Then it'll be back to rain----June's AVERAGE was 17.7C. 3.5C lower than it's usual average:( So much for Global Warming---oh, they changed it for Global Climate Change now----

Another day of writing for me -- can you tell I'm ready for it?:):)

Have a good one :):):)

Mornin' guys...

Well, I made it through one class of the motorcycle instructors course, only three more to go, plus a lot more studying and prepping to teach the class this coming Saturday.

Sandy; Happy Belated Birthday! Hope it was a good one!:D

Was out cruising on the bike yesterday and stopped by the LHS, I picked up some track snips figured they might come in handy when I start laying track sometime next month.

Also tried the India ink ans alcohol trick on the DPM building I built a month or so ago. It did not turn out real good. Kind of looks like it was on fire. I suppose I could get some fire trucks and fireman figures and use it for a burned out building scene. Guess I need more practice on maybe my mixture was not quite right:confused:

Well I am off work this week just trying to get some stuff done around the house. I got my garage straightened up yesterday. Now I can get both motorcycles and one car in there and I can actually see my work bench. Toady I have to mow the yard, and start getting the basement straightened up and organized. Have to work in some studying later too:(

Think I'll poke around the forum a bit while I finish my coffee and see what else is going on, talk to you guys later...:D

Good morning folks

It was a hazy 72 F as I headed in this morning. High will be 90 F.

We have cool air on the first floor of our house again. It took 3 trips to the hardware store for parts, bolts, washers, and nuts, and about 3 hours after I got home last to get the new A/C unit in the window and running.

I am beginning to think that the Solvset I have has gone bad and that is what is causing my problems with the decals not sticking. The decals are not even melting the slightest bit. On the wood boxcar they are not adhering at all. On the covered hopper you can pop them off with the tip of a Xacto knife. It looks I need to hit the LHS once I get a paycheck.

Speaking of the lack of a paycheck we may finally after 28 days have some action. Apparently several pending lawsuits, an upcoming State Supreme Court hearing, and a US Department of Labor investigation has woke up the morons that they need to start paying employees and vendors/contractors. Also rumor has it that one or more big vendor/contractors have threatened to shut things down if they don’t get paid.

Happy Birthday, Sandy!

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning folks.

I am going to spend the day at a somewhat local amusement park. My wife doesn't ride rides so I haven't gone in years. Well, my thirteen year old cousin is all about going on rides so away we go. It will only be me and her so we'll see what the conversations bring!

My kit building spree continues. Before you know it I will be ready to purchase a few more.:D

I hope everyone has a great day!

this might be the right spot to discuss this. no, the weather is fine really, what got me today is a jogger i encountered while driving my son to daycare. for some reason he decided that he is not going to use sidewalk to do his running and the road is much cooler or what.
and then he is not happy with me passing near him and not taking half of the opposite lane like everybody else...

don't you get it stupid, road is for cars, sidewalk is for pedestrians. (unless of course it is DT Chicago ). and slow ass lazy joggers for all intents and purposes are still considered pedestrians. as soon as you leave the safety of sidewalk big red "feel free to run me over" sigh lights above your head. at the least you could keep up with speed limit. otherwise "if you can't keep up, don't step up" (riddick)

blah...

My backyard...

Hey check it out, 7:30 AM this morning my backyard...

Still had the velvet on the antlers, I counted 15 points from another angle with my binoculars, and both brow tines were split. Very nice buck...Too bad I can't hunt in my backyard...:(

Evening, all -

Tony I must have about a half-dozen of those Xuron things lying around my house, seems I can never find one exactly at the moment I need to use it - so I'm off to the LHS to pickup another one. Then the original missing one magically appears ~2days later. I agree that fifteen-pointer sure would look great on somebody's wall!

Anton I feel your pain, sort-of - except around here it's inconsiderate bicyclists that are the problem. They ride in the middle of the lane instead of on the 2-foot strip of asphalt outside the white edge stripe, so on a winding road with double-yellow lines it's impossible to pass them. Then when they get to a red light, they just casually ride thru it while the car drivers sit there waiting patiently for it to turn green!

Corey - looks like you're on a roll with that layout.

Chris your trestle looks fantastic, I never woulda guessed a DMSF champion could produce something like that!:D

. . .

I'm not sure whats happening with me, but I can hardly even drag myself into the trainroom. Maybe it's Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or something like that? A database upgrade project I'm in charge of at work has me really stressed out, its continuously on my mind; that makes it harder for me to enjoy simple pleasures like model trains. Even when I get a good nights sleep I still feel exhausted during the day. But I've been thru this sort of thing before so I'm sure it'll pass eventually...

Jogger in vehicle lane = slow moving target.

Wait! Don't you know that bicyclists are worth big points? They're fast moving, highly manuverable targets! You're throwing away valuable points there!

Look, the basic format goes as follows, with special situations being reviewed on a per case basis of course:

Elderly pedestrians (slow moving targets) = 10 points

Middle aged pedestrians (faster) = 25 points

Young adult pedesrians (quiker yet with better reaction times) = 50 points

Teenagers = 0 points (Most people want to kill them anyways, so we're not going to reward you for a job anyone else is probably already wanting to do for free!)

Kids = OFF LIMITS (Shoot, half the time they throw themselves in front of your car......no challenge there!)

+ 10 for target wearing sneakers (makes them quicker)
+ 25 for a pedal bike with a 1 point boost for each gear the bike has
+ 50 for a moped
+ 100 for anyone caught being stupid at the time of impact (Plus a great feeling of satasfaction!)
- 10 for a cane
- 25 for a walker or wheelchair (very little challenge here)
- 50 for a seeing eye dog or white cane (virtually no challenge)

Now that you know the basic rules of the game, forget all you learned in drivers ed and go out there and take charge of the roads! Remeber, DRIVE OFFENCE!

:D

50 Bonus Points are awarded if you hit people hard enough that their shoes go flying off!:p add 10 point's if you do it in reverse!

Although crap throwing is my best event.........When we go to Bush Gardens even the chimps, apes, and other primates bow down to me:D:)! But I do get board throwing crap from time to time, so I do venture in to other areas of my mind!:rolleyes::rolleyes::eek:

BTW: I got done with the last tunnel portal today, I'll paint them when i get the chance! as soon as I get some $$ I'll start the scenery!

Hmmmm, thats a tough call:confused:? Let's give that 25 points, shouldn't be that hard of a thing to do!:) Now do that going in reverse would make the difficulty go way up!

Not Funny, Magee.

Phil, You name it I RAN IT OVER! Motor Cycles are the hardest target's.....You have to catch them off gaurd to one of them!:);)
I got rear-ended while riding my motorcycle so hard my shoes flew off. Anybody want to chip in to pay my medical bills? I only owe another quarter million or so...
