It's been a long day. Wind yesterday hauled my cable down so it's hanging low over the road. I called Suddenlink about and they said they'd TRY to send someone BEFORE Monday. I hope nobody comes by with a motor home or a high truck before then. Relatives said they'd bring me something to eat from town. That was three hours ago. So far no-show. I'm about to say the heck with it and grab a snack then head for the bed.

Time to call it a night. See y'all sometime tomorrow.

Getting ready for my mothers memorial service this morning. Just taking a short time out to post this. I also have to get paying the bills out of the way today and get the first half of the groceries. I might be able to get some layout work in later. Well that's all for now.

Well the memorial service for my mother went very well. There were a lot of old friends there to share their thoughts and memories. It was a very good turnout. My father had a lot to say, sharing 57 years of memories takes a while. I got a few photos to share also.

The podium for the speakers:

Her graduation picture from Troup High School, 1955. Yeh Tigers! She and my father met at the high school prom. It was being held in Jacksonville Texas at the Liberty Hotel ballroom. He was in the army then stationed at Camp Chaffee (now Fort Chaffee) Arkansas and was hitchhiking home to Austin Texas to see his parents. He stopped at the Liberty hotel for the night. He cleaned up and went to see what was happening in the ballroom. The entrance-way to the ballroom is where they met. They got married in December 1956.

Her final resting place at the Veteran's Memorial cemetery. She's on a hilltop where she can keep an eye on things.

Now to introduce you to my great-nephew John. A 5 year old train nut. The kid is insane about trains! He's seen photos and videos of what I have so I'm his favorite person. I think I caught him in the middle of a dance step in this photo.

Good Evening...AAAAACCCHHHHIIIIINNNSKIIIII!!!!!!....HONK!!!....:o:(

Welb...dow every part ov be is all sore....lovely....:(

Had a wonderful day today, actually, got a few things done on an extension to the layout and found a few tools I thought I lost for good...of course, after I bought new ones:confused:

I seem to be on the verge of the no taste area of the cold here...I can't smell anything so who knows:rolleyes:

Jeff: Sounds like a good memorial service for her...:)

Thanks to all for the kind comments on the service today. It's appreciated. Well it's been a busy day for me and it's time to call it quits. See y'all tomorrow.

Jeffrey; that was a nice Memorial service - thank you for sharing it with us.

The cold is back. I'm still undecided but leaning toward driving down to Timonium for the train show tomorrow. Have a short list. At least this show is at the beginning of the month when I have some money.

Good evening.

Good Morning!

It's 16° F and sunny this morning. Later it's supposed to snow. HA!

We decided not to drive 2½ hours into a predicted light snow storm, to spend 1½ hours wandering through the "Cow Palace" just to drive another 2½ hours + returning in a projected snow storm.

I should find something to keep me entertained today.

GO RAVENS!

Joe

Good morning. It's 48° with 81% humidity. It'll be cloudy with a high of 70°.

No particular plans for today, just general cleanup on the layout. Staying ahead of clutter is a never-ending job and I seem to be losing all the time.

First order of business is to get breakfast taken care of. My blood sugar reading was 78, low for me. At that level it's somewhat difficult to concentrate.

Kroger was packed last night at 8:30pm which is really unusual. People I guess thought there was going to be significant snowfall today. It is snowing lightly now but the radar looks like it will peter out soon. Decided to skip the RC swap meet today due to several reasons.......mostly cold, soreness, and not wanting to haul all this stuff down the stairs and pack it in the truck. Gonna give my buddy a donation or buy him lunch for renting the tables anyway. Hopefully some others in our club went down and used them.
