I can vouch fer that! My ex seen how clean I kept public restrooms! I was toast!

I went out earlier to retrieve my trash cans (four days late but there's no time limit here) and I somehow dislocated my right thumb. I've always been double jointed so that's probably the answer. Since I can't feel the pain from it I had no problem popping it back in place. It's not swollen so I didn't do any lasting damage. This is one of the big dangers of severe neuropathy. You can break the bones and an infection can set in before you know what's happening. That's what happened with my right foot. By the time I knew anything was amiss it was too late. The damage had been done. It's been a slippery downhill slope ever since where one step forward can turn into three steps back. I've been slowly sliding down that slope ever since. Ever had a MRSA infection? You don't want to. I've had two and I nearly didn't survive one of them.

21 days in the hospital, and 4 weeks of Vancomycin IV's. Not fun at all.

Yep. Not fun at all. I did my vancomycin iv's at home and it was still a drag. That medicine can be vicious and it takes a toll you after a while if you have diabetes related kidney problems. The side effects aren't fun either.

Good morning. It's 70° and cloudy with a 40% chance of rain throughout the day. The high will be 78°.

My thumb is a bit stiff this morning but seems all right otherwise. No more popping when I move it. I don't think I'll be doing anything today. I've been busy enough the last couple of weeks that I could stand a day off.

The 4 weeks of IV's was at home, after the initial 3 weeks in isolation in the hospital. That stuff is so rough my outer layer of skin died. I looked like a poster child for skin lotion.

You and me both. I was shedding skin like a blizzard. I could peel it off in strips.

Good afternoon.
It was 48* here this morning and raining a bit, during a break in the rain I went out to look at the rain guage and it red just over .6 of an inch from during the night and morning.


I did a bit more preparation on the layout to get the rail extended more on the upper line as I've been doing all the work on the lower line and should work on each somewhat equally it would seem.


I'm not sure if I have a bit of a bug or something as I seem to have an upset stomach
so maybe I've got a bit of a flu or something as I'm not feeling the best either. I guess it's the time for colds.


BNSF & Jeffrey, Sympathy to you both as it seems you sure have your problems alright.

Well I had a good day of rest going then my mother called. She wanted to go to Stage to do some shopping to add to the mountain of unused clothes she already has. That was at 10:15 this morning. I just got home. It's 4:48 pm. I least I got lunch at Wagon Master out of it. A half rack of ribs and a ten ounce sirloin and all the peanuts I could eat. So much for a restful day. My ankle is hurting and my back is trying to kill me.

You don't know my parents. My father is a 27 year army veteran and my mother worked for the government for 22 years. They don't take no for an answer. Saying no makes sure that I don't get something important or help when it's badly needed. Learned that the hard way.

Good morning. It's 70° and cloudy. The high will be 79° with variable clouds. There's a chance of rain ranging from 10% to negligible.

I'm not feeling much better this morning than I did last night so I will attempt again to get some rest. If someone calls with some asinine request I might just tell them to go fly a milk bottle. I still have some cleaning up to do on the layout so I'll try to get that done today. While I was at Wagon Master yesterday I saw most of the last quarter of the Redskins/Packers game. Final score 35/26 Packers. Don't take that to mean I'm a Packers fan because I'm not. I'm simply saying what the score was.

Good morning folks

It was 53 F with some drizzle. High today should reach 55 F but with more rain.

This weekend was crazy busy. My daughter had a volleyball clinic on Saturday and Sunday. This meant that I had to drive back and forth to Hatboro all weekend. It may only be a 30 mile trip one way but with the traffic and the detours it was nuts. She enjoyed the clinic and feels she learned more about setting. She can’t wait for the club season to begin. My son had to attend a Council wide meeting regarding his Philmont trip. They explained the logistics of the trip. Where they are flying, what they are doing and what is expected of them. He is excited about the whitewater rafting trip that they will be doing. He is not too sure about the tours they will be doing of a couple of National Parks. Since my wife had to work both days this meant that I was the driver for all this fun.

In between trips we got all the summer furniture put away. I still need to clean out the fish pond filter and finish winterizing the pond. We also raked the leaves off the front yard.

With everything going on I never made it into the basement except to bring laundry down. My son I did discuss what we need to do to get the trains running again.

Tonight is my son’s Boy Scout troop meeting.

Yep short work week for sure. We just got back from Disney World yesterday and so I took today off also. Now my boss at the Automotive Paint store being the wizard he is says business as usual Fri. so at work I will be just sitting around sleeping and waiting for noon so's I can head back home and work on taking the engine out of my 72 Monte Carlo with the reason being that the flex plate/flywheel was put in backwards. When I put on the new starter it started grinding something and the starter was grinding the teeth off of the flex plate. So let the fun begin.

This week for me will be just as long as last week or the week before that, etc. That could be because I don't work and I'm stuck at home all day.

Nope not the shim. My son in-law and I took off the inspection cover and found about 10 teeth on the flex plate ground up. When we checked it 3 weeks ago it was OK. Disconnected the battery and turned the key and the gear on the starter was only going in about 3/16" to 1/4" into the flex plate. Looked at some Pix on the internet and read a couple pof articles and the flex plate is backwards. It also appeared to be warped a little but will know for sure when it is pulled out. New flex plate is already here along with new motor mounts, paint for the motor and paint for the engine compartment. Going to also ceramic caot the headers so it will look real puuurrty for next seasons car shows.
