... The second time I was fitted with a home iv port so I could administer the antibiotics myself at home. I've had two such ports, one in each shoulder.

I've had "temporary" triple lumen caths" in both shoulders 6 times, and in both sides of my neck about 10 times. They only could stay in about 2-3 weeks. I also have had 4 Broviacs, and 2 Groshongs and one PIC line. Because of complications with them, (blood clots, nerve damage) etc. I can only have peripheral lines now or a permanent port placed under the skin, to go into a leg vein. Those ports have enough complications of their own. Thanx but no thanx!

Evening All

Nice day today but the tail end of that hurricane is set to batter us in the next 24 hours,,, glad im stuck at home after my fun in the operating room, 14 injections of local anesthetic in the leg and one in the groin was not my idea of fun, especially at the moment it paralyzed my arms and i blacked out to the tune of "His BP's falling fast" lmao,,, typical i had a rare bad reaction to it they don't see very often. At least my legs fixed, just gotta get these 3 teeth pulled on tuesday which are giving me hell.

Growing Old Sucks,,,,,,, 45 and falling to bits, can i join the old farts club now so Chris has a buddy ;)

Steve, I missed something: what was wrong with your legs?

BTW: I just watched the "Red Riding" Trilogy and I wished you had been here to guide me through the movies. There were more flashbacks of flashbacks than I could keep up with, But..........I needed an interpreter of English slang to American, preferably Southern:eek:. Heck, subtitles in American would have been nice....just kidding you!:D:D Glad you are doing better.

Where was I on the morning of 9/11/01? I was 1/3rd of the way through my 200 mile newspaper route. I had just turned left off of Peavy Road onto hwy 464 heading to Rabbit Island Lane on the edge of Anacoco Lake when the plane hit the first tower. A short while later I was at Peavy's store. The owner, a fellow Native American (Cherokee/Choctaw) and I were watching the news coverage on his TV when a plane hit the second tower. I decided right then and there that the papers were going to be late that day. I had to watch what was unfolding and find out what was going on. When it was announced that all flights would be grounded immediately my friend had stated they couldn't ground them that fast. I told him to note the time and watch how fast they could do it. Forty-five minutes. It surprised me too.

Good morning...

I'm not ready for the old folks home yet! I may be growing older, but I refuse to GROW UP!:D

The devil can have what's left of the world after I get done with it......But he can have my exwife now!:D

Good morning. It's 64° and mostly sunny. There's a 20% chance of rain this morning. This afternoon will be mostly with a high of 92°.

Yesterday I patched the BL2 for the L&A and I stripped the two Stewart F units. I also painted and weathered five structures The largest being a barn and the smallest being a dog house. Today, weather and physical ability permitting I'll paint both F units in the black and gray of the Midland Gulf line.

Hey guys, how you doing.

Rex i had a varicose vein pop up in my leg, had it microwaved from inside right upto my groin which stung somewhat ha ha.

Chris Who said you have to grow up to get old, growing old is all about getting younger, maybe not in body but in mind ;)

On a recent trip to Lowe's I picked up a new hot-glue gun. A bigger one (Arrow TR550) that uses the standard size sticks, a pack of standard size sticks. It take two sticks just to get the gun going initially. I have two small ones that use the mini sticks but I have some difficulty using them due to the numbness in my hands. I can get a better grip on the big one and it gives me more control. I also got four 1/16" drill bits, smallest available here, a pack of brass screws that match the size of the bits, a pack of brass #4S brass flat washers. These are good for use between trucks and car bodies. A new three LED headlight to throw some hands-free light on projects. My old one is difficult to turn on/off and aim and the band is so tight it gives me a headache. Picked up another half-pint can of mis-tinted satin paint. Non-hobby purchases were a selection of SAE tools (non-metric for those who came along after cars required metric tools) for my van. My nephew was happy as he was allowed to pick and choose what he wanted from my metric tools. He walked away with about $250 worth. I told him that was his Christmas present.

In hobby news, the Stewart shells have received their black and gray MGRy colors. Sometime today or tomorrow they'll get their black/red/yellow MGRy decals.

I also took out a new membership in the Handman Club of America. I had been a member for many years but let it lapse a few years ago.

Good morning folks

It was 66 F as I hit the pavement this morning. Our high will be 81 F.

We had another big thunderstorm last evening around 11:30 PM. It had lots of lightening and window rattling thunder and heavy rain. Luckily it only lasted about an hour and a half. Many areas of the state are still recovering from last week’s rain. My son’s Boy Scout troop is supposed to camp at Worlds End State Park in Sullivan County near Williamsport. Right now the park website says that the park is inaccessible and the road that runs along the park is closed. We are trying to find out what kind of damage there is and if it will be open in two weeks when they are scheduled to go. They had a meeting from the boys who are going to Philmont Scout Ranch next summer and they planned a back-up location just in case.

My daughter’s volleyball team continues to spiral downward. They were crushed on Friday losing three games. It was downright ugly. On Saturday in the tournament the ugliness continued and they lost all eight games. (Their overall game record is 0-17.) They had one game where the second string was down 24-11 that they lost 25-23. The only reason they got that close was the other team which was a mediocre team got cocky and made a bunch of dumb mistakes. After a time out and a tongue lashing from their coach they finally put my daughter’s team away. My daughter’s brilliant coach then decided to use that line-up in the next game against the number 1 team in the pool and it got crushed. For today’s game we have no idea what the coach is going to do. Right now she has several players, including my daughter and the two seniors playing out of position and the girls are confused and frustrated. The parents as a whole are disgusted with the coach; many of them have had to endure her for three or four years. One parent is ready to go to the School Board and complain.

Tonight is one of those crazy nights. In addition to my daughter’s volleyball game at Ridley my son has his Boy Scout troop meeting and it is Back to School Night at his school.

Carey I hope you get better without any more complications.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning. It's 69° and sunny. The high will be 95°.

Nothing much planned for today. looks like it's going to be one of those 'take it as it comes' days.

Hey guys, how you doing.

i had a varicose vein pop up in my leg, had it microwaved from inside right upto my groin which stung somewhat ha ha.

At least you can have those veins treated like that now. Used to when we did a vein stripping, we took a cable that had, for lack of a better description a round nut, screwed onto the end. We threaded the cable up thru the bad vein and then pulled the "nut" up thru the vein. Needless to say, there wasn't any vein left! Then at the end of the operation, we'd wrap the leg tightly in elastic bandages. Then the pain would start for the patient. My mom had one done and refused to have another.

My eyes seem to be getting better. They still look like a real bad map of NYC, but the itching is down and I can now see close up. If its more than 3' away, its just a blur. They still hurt like a (insert expletive here), and real swollen, but its better than last week.

I was looking at a Model Power GP9 on the Walthers site today and decided I wanted it. There was however a problem. The amount of money I could spare was $40 - MAX. The price from Walthers with shipping was just a gnats hair short of $53. That wasn't going to work. Besides that the only one they offered was a Conrail unit. The closer I could get to Santa Fe the happier I'd be. I decided to have a look on Ebay and found a BNSF unit almost immediately. Price was $29.99 and with shipping came to $39.29, so I decided it was time to warm up my Ebay card for the first time in a couple of years. One Model Power BNSF GP9 {see photo below} should be in my hands no later than this time Monday. I had a couple of Model Power GP7's some years ago and if this unit is like those it should be a good runner and a descent puller with the addition of some weight. When I became disabled enough that I was unable to work (I've had to contend with physical disabilities all my life but found ways to get around them until 2004) I had to sell many of my possessions including almost all of my model railroad equipment (including my GP7's) which included equipment from Z Scale to G Scale. I didn't get anywhere near what I had invested in all of it. All I have left of my N Scale stuff are a couple of beat-up locos (Bachmann F9 and Proto 2000 SD7) and a few cars. Well, my physical problems have slowed me down and limited what I can do but they haven't stopped me yet. I'll be working on my layout and my trains quite literally until I drop.

Terry....Nope! ALSO North Carolina. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etowah,_North_Carolina
Just thought I would check as he signed Terry in Etowah, NC and thought there may be a chance in zillion.

Carey: Hope you get your eyes clear up soon...we gots loads of stuff to tear up and you don't need to be tearing up .

Dang honey-do's are about to wear me down. They piled up on me during all the very hot weather we were having. Still in the upper 80's to low 90's, but not nearly as bad with lower humidity.

Good morning. It's 72° and mostly cloudy. We'll have brilliant sunshine later and the high will be 98°.

Well, yesterday I went on Ebay and found a Model Power GP9 I wanted for less than what Walthers wanted and put it on my Ebay card. That left my immediate funds free for use elsewhere. Well elsewhere came later when I was approached by a private party who wishes to remain unidentified (I know him but he doesn't want certain others to know that I know him). Anyways he has an Atlas FP7 he was wanting to part with but only to someone he knows will take care of it. Make no mistake, he knows the paint is going to get zapped, but as far as lubrication, normal maintenance and repairs are concerned he knows I take that very seriously. He's been to my home and has seen what goes on on the workbench and that the maintenance is performed according to a checklist. So now he has this Atlas FP7 (yellowbox) still sealed in it's original packaging and has offered it to me for $25. I wasn't about to pass that up. It'll be on it's way to me at the end of the month.

In other news I still haven't come across a suitable set of horns for the E7. The ones that are on it stand out like Ronald McDonald's shoes! I'm going to take them off and see if painting them will help. Anything will likely be better that the hot yellow that they are now.
