After a windy night I'm still here. You won't be rid of me that easily. Power got knocked out for a short time last night but cable service was down until a little while ago. Gusty winds and rain are expected as Lee advances through Louisiana. Onset of tropical storm conditions isn't likely. There are no tropical cyclone watches or warnings in effect at this time. The center of Lee is in the vicinity of Iberia Parish in south central Louisiana. Winds near Lee are 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35. It's windy here in west central but nothing I can't live with. Chance of rain is near 100%. Wind is gusting near 40 mph.

just for fun.....

Dad buys a LIE DETECTOR ROBOT which slaps people when they lie. He decides to test it at dinner. "Son, where were you today?" The son says "at school dad." Robot slaps the son! "Ok, I watched a dvd at my friends house!" "What dvd?" "Toy story." Robot slaps the son again! "Ok, it was a porno" cries the son. Dad yells "What! When I was your age I didn't know what porn was!" Robot then slaps the dad! Mom laughs "HaHaHa! He's certainly YOUR son." Robot then slaps the mom!

Robot then gets scrapped with the assistance of a rolling pin!

We have a wind advisory and a flash flood watch in effect here. Anybody who wants a nice breeze is welcome to come and get some of the wind. It's only 30 to 40 mph.

Good Morning..

Well...after several sticky weeks we are now in a cool airmass..temperatures only in the upper 60's with little humidity...instead of upper 80's with heat indices in the 105-112F range...

I had a busy weekend of on-call...filled with visits to the emerg with clients and no shows and general paperw**k stuff for the office.....but I did manage some mrr time. I also got three new ATLAS RS2's from a LHS that was having a weekend yard sale..heeheehee:D:D

Good morning. It's 73° and cloudy. The high will be 82° and mostly cloudy. There's a 50% chance of rain this morning.

Winds last night were in excess of 40 mph. I know what it takes to make the corrugated steel sheets on the over-roof chatter and 40 and below won't do it. Sounded like closer to 50 mph gusts. Winds are continuing this morning. We're under a wind advisory until about 7 pm. Average speed should be 20-25 mph with gusts to 35. Already looked at the lake and the white caps are rolling over deep water and hitting hard against my parents sea wall. Anybody out there today is a nut! Nothing much planned for the layout today except some general cleanup. A good thing about this weekends storm is that it kept the young folks across the road quiet. Kinda hard to have a party in the yard with wind and rain trying to soak everything and blowing away anything that isn't nailed down. I know the wind was blowing pretty good as it blew my old gas grill over. I haven't grilled on it in many years. I just use it as a painting bench.

Help! We're drowning in T-town.....well, not far from it. Winds haven't been that bad, but the rain is heavy and steady. You folks in the northeast need to get your boats ready again.

I braved the elements yesterday and went to Best Buy looking for a new wireless router. I came back with the new Linksys E4200 to replace my Dlink 1522 that was suppose to handle a house up to 5000 sq feet....Bull Crappy! Anyhow, I have everything connected up except a danged Dlink Bridge that handles some stuff at the entertainment area. The signal is very strong and super fast all over our property and Netflix movies download twice (thrice?) as fast than before.

Now, that SOB Bridge was a PITA to install when I first bought it and it is doing it to me again. Already have spent 4 hours of fussing and cussing over it and probably will give it one more go this afternoon before it meets Mr. Sledge. It is suppose to connect easily with the WPS button------Nope. It is suppose to be easy manually-------Nope! Heck, I even have to change my Gateway address on the laptop just to work on it manually. I really really love technology when they say easy setup..............Don't You?

Have a really great day, fellows!:)

I discovered a long time ago that there are only two easy things with Dlink. Taking it out of the box and chucking it in the trash. I avoid it whenever possible.

You are so right! Never again.

uh...I hear a loud transformer hum down the street. Guess I need to prepare for a power outage. CUL

I heard one about a quarter of a mile from here take a direct lightning hit one night. It didn't blow out. It exploded taking the top eight feet off the pole. The biggest piece of the casing was the size of a 24 oz beer can. Three of my neighbors had broken windows, the ones that were facing the blast. My windows are Lexan. Throw a brick at any of them and it'll just bounce off.

Tried to cut the lawn today. :( Got up this morning, wet grass from overnight rain. :(

So I conceded to defeat long enough to take the Mrs. shopping, and to get my cell phone replaced. 1 footnote, don't let carb cleaner hit the screen, baaaad news!

Got home around noon, grass damp, skies clouded, so I thought i'd make a run at it. Side yard done, made 3 laps on the front yard and the heavens erupted!:eek: Got soaked putting the tractor back in the shed and running to the garage!! So much for that! Weatherguesser says now it's gonna rain til Friday. Maybe I should just get a baler for the Deere!

Then brighteyes, seeing the rain, suggested I should clean the basement! :p I reminded her that I was the man around here! Then I vacuumed and dusted the basement:( For any of you single guys questioning my judgement, let me refer you to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7Y0I91rubg It's just Rex, singing one of his greatest hits! :D:D:D

Then I started in earnest to finish a project I started a few weeks back. Shoehorning a sound decoder and speaker into an 0-4-0 tank engine.
It's now running, and making lotsa cool noise!:D I've got a little touch up to do, and some glass to install, but by Gosh, I'm lovin it!!:D Once its done I'll post some action pics, and maybe even a YouTube video! :D:D:D
Til then, here's an early pic from tonight. The Microclear isnt even dry in the front cab windows yet!!

Looking good, Karl!! How did the decoder fit in there?

My day is already starting by getting rained on while out trying to mow our already wet lawn...Karl...I think the baler idea might just work up here too!:)

It looks like we are going to be soaked for a few days here...everything from 60% on up for rain and those ol' t'underin'boomers here....but we are guaranteed one thing...plenty o' dull dull dull...until at least next Monday...

Good morning folks.

I'm back from one last summer weekend at the lake. Granted, we spent most of the time in sweatshirts on the boat, but it was nice anyway.:)

I have one more day off but my wife had to work today. I decided to clean the house, put up the fall decorations(my department), and now I'm off to wash and wax the car. I'm hoping to get some train time in but it's just so nice out. With sunny skies and highs in the low seventies, it doesn't get much nicer than this.

Just thought I'd check in and say hello.
Have a great day everyone!
