Good Morning all from Coarsegold, Ca.
It's a very comfortable 60*and very light breeze with no clouds.
Hi Flo, That freshly brewed Hazelnut coffee sure smells good, I'll have a cup or that plus a couple of eggs and bacon and some cottage cheese, thanks.

Have a good day all!

Hi fellows, its din-din time. Steve, I will have that steak....ground beef steak, that is:D .
I just got back from a quick check by the Dentist and all is very good and will go back in a week to check for adjustment. I know this is unbelievable to you, as it is me, but I haven't had any pain at all. I only took some Motrin last night before bed "just in case". I keep thinking that something will hit the fan or maybe my brain is dying...or something. Now allth I neeth ith a speeth therapissssst:D :D .

Chris, just explain to your customers that with the new yard crew, they will get free fertilizer for their yards. Guess I need to get you off the spot and cancel my order for rain water. We got a nice 2 hour shower last night and more is expected. Still don't know what Fay will do for us, but she is welcome to pay us a visit;) .

Think I will get back on the layout and work on that diesel area. CU later!:)

Good Afteroon All1 had a kinda of busy morning. Went to have blood drawn for my next doctors' visits. A few people were ahead of me so had to sit and wait. A poor older women came in and started talking about her problems. her son was with her and was about as patient aas a fly.. well seems she is 84 and her health had gone bad when she turned 81 . now she can't see to good and can;t hear much either . She was talking to another woman about it and heald her up from going in to get her blood draw. Well her son started yelling at her about holding the woman up and it was awful . The poor lady felt so bad after she said she wished she was dead right now. I just hope that son doesn't get old and has to hold someone up .Well I took up to much of your time so I'm out of here .Hope that everyone in Florida escapes the flooding without to much damage. here's hoping you all have a nice day also !!!Rex hope you are eating steak and corn real soon but stay awayfrom the popcorh kernels !!!

Afternoon all, just got in from a day at the Blue planet aquarium, great day out for everyone, you can can stroke the Rays and also the kids can dive with sharks for £25

waiting for the divers to feed the fish, this can be very exciting, especially when the little fish don't get out the way in time and get eaten by sharks

And a great tank of Clown fish
tanks13-07-08005.jpg

A Female Nurse shark,,, Hey REX, check those teeth out, viewed from underwater
tanks13-07-08011.jpg

And a model of a Megladon's jaw with quite nice teeth, this would make a nice new set of false teeth for the mother in law
tanks13-07-08001-1.jpg

Rex, I'm placing a order for a 2" of rain water over my lawn! we yet to get anything!

Paul, hate to laugh at the wind surfers pain........But doing stupid things at the wrong time and place= a whole lot of pain;) :p ! Now, if he were a Model Railroader messing with his trains......... he would be safe and in one piece:D ! See Model Railroad has another plus to doing it:eek: ! Now if i only can keep the beer and chips out of my train room.....I might lose some weight!:p

Steve, Come to florida........Your family can swim with the critters for reals! By the way the shark looks to be a very big bull.... not a nurse! you can tell by the huge teeth, that's not a nurse! Dude, one day you'll have to cross the pond!

Hey i have seen a few fish today, my mistake Chris, they have around 15 different types of shark, big teeth little teeth no teeth :)

Steve looks like you had lots of fun with the kids . My father worked as a maintance man at the Niagara Falls Aquarium for 20 years . It was always nice to get my kids in for free and enjoy the sights ! It was the United States one . not the one in Canada

Afternoon, everyone.

Mikey, being a native Clevelander, I've already lived in both ends of what Hell may be like. I was married to my late wife in 1966. We went out to LA to visit her parents on our honeymoon and then got back to Cleveland in December. The lake was completely frozen over then. I said "That's it, we're moving." Moved out to California in March 1967 and never looked back.

Sandy, always nice to see you. Of all the places in Colorado, Aspen is my least favorite. You can practically snort cocaine out of the air. My son engineered a "ski cabin" there for the former president of Frontier Airlines (before he drove them into bankruptcy). It was just a small place - 6,000 square feet and 1.5 million dollars. It did make the Sunset list of Top 10 Colorado homes 2 years ago though so he's proud of it.

Ray, you're installing how many switch stands? Man, I'll bet it will look good when you're done, assuming you're not in an insane asylum. ;)

Chris, you still should get some rain as Fay slowly traverses her way west but you have been just on the edge of the main rain bands the whole time. Could be worse though - I understand the Melbourne area has had 25 inches so far! I'll take one of those air conditioned mowers along with a hamburger today.

Rex, I'm really glad to hear you're not having any pain. sounds like you've got a really good dentist working on you. I forgot to mention the whole speech therapy issue. I would guess it took me about three months before I could talk normally again. I saw that rain on radar last night but, of course, we got nothing. Some clouds from the advance spirals of Fay now but still no rain. Looks like you've got some more storms forming up there right now, you rat!

Paul, I'm glad that kite surfer hasn't died (although he may wish he did with those spinal injuries) but, at 28, he's really old enough to know better. Really dumb move. Too bad about that son. He'll get it when he gets old and lonely too.

Steve, that looks like a nice aquarium. Nothing I like better than spending the day with fish. Chris is right about that shark. I ran into a bull shark while diving at just about that same angle. He just swam right by with no problems but it did increase the pucker factor a bit. Nurse sharks, OTOH, are about as docile a shark that exists. They spend most of their time resting on sandy bottom areas and you can touch them without them ever even turning their head. I picked up a 2 foot long baby nurse shark once at 60 feet and he was content to have me tote him around for a while.

Fay is turning out to be a real puzzler. She is finally back onshore again in Florida, having just passed over the Flagler Beach area and is now moving west at a whole 4 mph. She can't move north because of the high pressure ridge over the east coast but the steering currents here are so light that she can move in almost any other direction, including south. It looks like she may now pop out again just south of the Big Bend area into the Gulf and reform as a tropical storm again. Tropical storm warnings have just been raised in that area. Depending on how much time she spends in or near the Gulf, she even has a slight chance of finally becoming a hurricane before making landfall again, probably near Mobile Bay. If her path is just 50 miles north of predicted, she will likely fall apart over the Florida Panhandle and south and central Alabama. At this point, I don't have a clue as to how close she will get to us or what side of the storm we'll be on. I'll just take some rain if can get it without a tornado outbreak. Looks like it will be sometime this weekend before she has any real impact here. As a point of interest, Fay is now only two days away from braking the record for the longest time spent as a tropical storm but never developing into a hurricane. If she hold together over north Florida, she just may be a new record. Go Fay! :D

I went for a job in an Aquarium years ago but the pay was crap so i didn't go for it, would be cool though if money was not an issue.

Most crap pay jobs down here are done by the retired folks! They take jobs to keep from getting board or to help pay for their meds! When I worked on the golf course 1/2 of the laborers were over 55, they worked for the free golf!

Steve: My M.I.L has REAL teeth like that Megladon and knows just how to take a plug out of my a**:D The bull shark's teeth resemble my Sister-in-law's along with her sharp tongue. (boy that is one mean ass woman.)

Jim: I just hope we get a couple of days of solid rain. From the looks of things, I would almost bet that unless she turns upward from Pensacola/Mobile and comes up the Mississippi line, we will only have scattered showers. BTW: I took my partial out this morning and had a first look. Dang man! I am now a bonafide inbred redneck:D .

Sandy: My Daughter and family lived in the Denver area a few years ago and sent me a real estate magazine. I could not believe the prices of the ordinary homes of 1800-2200 sq.ft. My SIL said it was because of so many dumb-butt Californians moving into the state and were willing to pay any price. (sorry Jim  )

Good morning folks

It was 69 F this morning with the expected high to be 85 F. It feels more like mid September than mid August. I am not complaining too much since the air conditioners have not been on all week and the temperatures and humidity have been perfect for my son’s evening football practices.

My son and I hooked up the Bachmann EZ-Command System to the layout yesterday. I know it may not be the greatest system but it was a gift. I will say it was extremely easy to set-up and operate. I would say it took all of three minutes to get it up and running. After watching the instruction DVD my son was able to operate the system and program a locomotive. For our layout I think the system will be a good starter. We do not anticipate running more than two or three locos at a time on the layout.

We held our Cub Scout Leaders’ meeting last night. We did some reorganization and fired our incompetent Committee Chair and Treasurer who once again did not show up for a meeting. Everyone was in agreement that they were tired of his lack of leadership and not following through on promises. We figured that the current leaders are doing the job already so we might as well make it official.

Saturday morning we have a Cub Scout bicycle ride in the morning. In the afternoon my son has a football game against the Haverford Fords. It looks like Sunday we will be doing the grocery shopping.

On the layout I would like to continue experimenting with EZ-Command System.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Mornin' everyone!

Jim, "there coming to take me away, ha,ha....." I have over 40 turnouts on the SLOW and the plan is to install target stands on all of them........ I'll try to get a photo of the two that are installed for WPF (one is a dummy, and the other is a working stand).

Chris be careful what you ask for. You might get it. My niece in Sanford has had lots of rain in the last couple of days.... They are at 11" and are supposed to get 2 or 3 more today before Fay moves out. Droughts Over!

I went over to the museum last night for the practice run for Diesel Days and for the August night photo shoot. I need to read the manual again and buy a remote manual shutter release to be able to get the photos after dark, so I was limited to some long time exposures. I'll post a couple later. Anyway, I digress. Harold Russell corners me as soon as I arrive and says, "come'ere, I got something for you. I now have the entire plans for the old grain Elevator and Mill in Canandaigua! After looking at them, all I can say is, "OMG!" What I have I gotten myself into. I told Harold that I would start work on it after the SLOW is inspected for the Master Builder Scenery AP this fall. He now wants to go back over to Canandaigua and have me help him measure the remains of the old PRR (Northern Central) Depot. So I have some more research and phone calls to make. Funny, never dreamed that I would get involved with this type of thing in the hobby or into the 1/1 sized stuff. People over at the museum keep saying I look like I'm having fun. That's an understatement!

Have a great day!

(edit) Tom you must have posted just as I opened the thread. Sound like you had a productive committee meeting last night. Glad the rest of the members agreed to make those leadership changes. Have a fun and productive year with the Pack! YiS!
