Good Morning Jimm , Bill , Chip & Jeffrey , Alittle cool again around 35 . Went to Strong yesterday hit a bit of Ice & Snow near Batavia Ray . Nothing we ain't seen before. A bit of bad news at Rochster though. My doctor said that my transplanted Kidney is winding down and I need another transplant . He wants to work me up on the list again because he said there is about a four year wait. I asked him why and he said because so many more people need them nowadays. So I cannot stress it enough . Please fill out donor cards . There are people out there that need your organs when you die. Holy cow enough preaching . Happy Birthday Chip and many many more. And you guys are right Claudia hasn't been in here in awhile . Hope all is well with her. Well gotta go get my coffee and you all have a nice day !

Mornin' all!

What up?

Nothing much here. Just trying to stay warm! Chilly out there today!

Oh, and Chip..........

Mornin everyone!

Paul, sorry to hear about the kidney. Hopefully one will become available in a reasonable time.

Chip, not only didn't we have any snow way up here in Geneva, there wasn't even any frost on the ground this morning.... It was supposed to be down in the 20s last night. Oh BTW-

Chip, I can't match Ray's creativity so a plain-jane HAPPY BIRTHDAY will have to suffice!:D

Buffalo-Paul, sorry to hear about the kidney, I'll add you to my prayer list.

Texas-Paul, glad you're happy with the new tractor!

Afternoon, everyone. Paul, I'm sorry to hear about the kidney but they do that, I'm afraid. I'll certainly echo your plea for organ donors. My son was killed at 19 in a traffic accident. We were able to donate almost all his organs, including his heart. There are eleven people alive or living bettter lives today because of his death. It doesn't make it less painful but does at least make his death not a complete waste.

Paul in Texas, I want a tractor. I don't know what I'd do with it on my 6/10ths of an acre but they always looked like they'd be fun to drive around. I'd probably flip that darn thing over though.

Happy Birthday, Chip. Gaping turnouts was always such a common thing before DCC that a lot of guys have to solder a lot of jumpers now. I'm glad I decided on DCC before I started building my layout. At least your engine ran until it got to the gap. :)

Never got below 34 here so the banana tree got a reprieve. Sunny and windy here, with humidity down to 19% and a temperature of 71. Bad fire weather - I'm surprised we haven't had any bad woods fires with how dry everything is. No rain on the horizon for at least another week.

Afternoon / evening all,
Paul we'll be thinking about you, hope you get sorted out soon.
Ken I must admit i said a choice word or two last night, but i got everything running,,, or so i thought, switched on an hour ago and two loco's on different addresses shot off down the line at full tilt, ??? very confusing, i took a look at the link BTW, thanks. my friend is coming this week maybe and he's an NCE wizard, maybe it's the hornby decoders, these three are the only one's giving me grief, the lenz and others are fine.

Mornin' all!

Getting back to something more like normal around here in the weather department.

Today: Sprinkles end early then partly sunny - high: 53

Tonight: Mostly clear and cold - low: 33

Thats much more like it!

Guess I'd best get busy!

Later!

Good morning folks

It was a brisk 32 F when I walked out the door this morning. The high is supposed to be only 45 F with showers. Yesterday I did not make it here due to fact it was a busy crazy day. I had meetings all morning and spent the afternoon putting out fires. If I was at my desk for a half-hour all day I was lucky.

No modeling last night.

This weekend is kind of open. My son has to distribute the Scouting for Food bags in the neighborhood. On Sunday we will be going to see the Philadelphia Phantoms play with the Cub Scouts. Beyond that I don’t know what is going on. We may visit the Franklin Institute.

I would like to work on installing the grab irons on the Walthers Reading Coil Cars I have on the workbench. There are still a lot of details to be added to the Farm House area.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Boy my phone system SUCKS. I am on dial up and it is taking long time to load anything. Lately the best connection I can get is 28.8bps. Two weeks ago I was geting connected all the way up to 38.4bps. When I go to read a post the screen keeps jumping all over the place especially when there are large pix in it. My idea of large is 800X600 on my dial up as it takes it seems like forever to load. I never put large pix in my post but always use thumb nails with links to the larger photos. So until Verison gets there act together I will be around a lot less. Verison SUCKS big time and I only live 1/2 mile from AT&T lines but cannot afford to run a line even if the state regulators would let me. We are at the end of the line and probably will not get DSL until the next millennium. End of Rant have a great day all I certainly feel better now but still have the same crappy connection.

Hey, ya ever have one of those days at work when everything goes perfect, but somehow you still get nailed to the wall in the end? That was yesterday for me. Don't know how it happened, but it did. Oh well, todays a new day, right?

Good morning folks. Leghome, have you looked into cable? I'm sure you have, I just thought I'd bring it up. Your problems with loading pictures make me feel like a jerk. I usually try to keep my pictures to 200k. If it's a bad picture, I'll make it smaller. I just don't think about dial-up users. I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning Bill ,Phillip , Tom & Larry , Looks like another nice day here on the Niagara Frontier high around 45 with chance of rain . I mean a typical fall day . thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. My doctor sure knows how to let a guy down . Well at least I have something to look forward to in the upcoming years another major operation. Well gotta get going and pick up some meds. and groceries so will be on my way . You all have a nice day . Larry can't you get cable or satellite service your way ?

Larry, have you looked into a Sprint wireless card? It's kinda pricy up front, but once you get set up it's not bad and the speeds are quite respectable. We run a multiline VOIP phone wirelessly on one of those and it works great. If it can do that, web surfing is a snap!

Afternoon everyone!

I spent the morning getting a haircut. Well actually, I got them all cut. My barber had been sick all week, but still showed up to cut hair. So I had to put with comments about those people who aren't self employed and actually get something called "Benefits" and can take a day off....... last week he was open every day and had almost nobody show up for haircuts. Felt like crap on Tuesday and the place has been filled to the brim ever since. He started in on me cause I showed up a little before 11AM to which I replied. "Hey I'm retired! This IS first thing in the morning! What!!" Actually he goes out of his way to entertain us by being grumpy. It's all a show as he is actually a very nice guy. Had to get a haircut for a friend's funeral on Monday. His son is the guy I traveled to Syracuse last weekend with to the Train Show. I am also friends with another of his son's through Scouting. He will be very much missed.

41°F and sprinkleyish (I love making up words...) here in the Finger lakes this afternoon. Got to go get the oil changed in the truck this afternoon and then finish collecting photos for a Powerpoint presentation for a prentation a week from Saturday.

Catch you all later.

Always seem to forget my camera. I should take it with me when I go to the Barber since he is in Seneca Falls. I could get some more shots to show Selector what the place really looks like. ;) ;) :D Glad to hear that your Mum brought the Blood presure meds with her! Personally I like Mead. We have a fine Meadery just a few miles to the south on Seneca Lake. Goooooood Stuff!

Evening folks, we got the duct work installed last sunday, but there not comming back unitll this sunday to finish hooking up the heat pump. i cant wait as were still relying 100% on the wood stove and i'm about tired of the hot than cold than hot! anyway, the new layout plan is final, as are the basement finishing plan. i hope to start framming around thanksgiving. i also got the ceiling insulated tonight as well, i really hate that stuff!!, but one of my wifes biggest complaints was the amount of noise that came up from the basement when i was working down there, so i spent a few bucks on some R-13 to help with the noise. Lokks like were i for a busy week as we have 12,000 cubic feet of material to haul out of the navy DRMO, thats three loaded 53 foot trailer loads! any way untill the basement is finished i have no model RR content to offer! thanks for listening...ryan
