Good morning folks
The heat and humidity is creeping back in. After being off for the last six days we had to turn the A/C units on at home last night. Today the high is supposed to be 89 F and we are under an Excessive Heat Watch. Tomorrow the temperature is expected to reach 97 F. It was a sticky 68 F when I rolled out of the driveway this morning.
No modeling last night. I did run a train for a few minutes. I reassembled the trucks for the Diner and put it away for now. I need to find a source of flange-less wheels or figure out how to grind/file the flanges down. I have about 8 wheels to do right now. Since I do not have any tools that will make the job easier the project will be on the back burner for now.
We have the usual bi-weekly grocery shopping this weekend. It is the beginning of youth football season as my son has two preseason games this weekend. His team the Drexel Hill Raiders Midget JV plays the Haverford Fords on Saturday and Sunday.
On the modeling front I am between projects since finishing the tank cars. I could work on the layout and the farm house area by adding scenery elements. I need to pick my next project so I guess I will organize the pile on the workbench some.
I hope everybody has a good day.
Morning Fellas!! Boy I'm glad it's Friday, modeling plans for the weekend consist of cutting some wood to make a wider exit for my bridge and to re-lay the track down with some gauges I made for the curves. I made temp gauges out of thick acrylic to see how well they'll work, might go back and make them out of aluminum. Other than that bit of modeling which will take up my saturday morning and afternoon, just going to relax and maybe visit some friends. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Good Morning Jeffrey , Bill , Tom & Nick . looks like a hot and humid day with a chance of rain . Will be dodging raindrops in the garden today. Will be pulling another all nighter at the bowling alley with a bunch of kids for a lockin . The last one before scholl starts. Well gomma get going and have some breakfast so all enjoy this day !!!!
Morning everyone!
More heat today...near record highs!
Highs today will top out at around 96, the record is 98 set back in 1936. It will feel much warmer with the humidity factored in the heat indices will top out at 100-105. Storms have been making their way across the Northern Half of Indiana some in our area. These storms so far have been falling apart a bit across the central part of the state. This afternoon that could change as a cold front to the north gets closer. Ahead of the front, a squall line of storm could form, similar to what happened yesterday across the Chicago area yesterday. Gusty winds, frequent lightning and heavy downpours are possible this afternoon, this evening and even overnight.
Right now, it's starting to get nasty.
Looks like cooking out tonight could be a bit of an adventure! It's all good though! I'm game!
Good morning.

Mornin' Bill!
Mornin' Jeffrey!
Mornin folks. Temp is really great here in Central IN today. Well off to the True Value for about 8 hours of work. Been rearranging my wood shop this week and sure wish I could stay home and finish that project up. Takin out the old kitchen cabinets that take up way to much room and the peg board on the wall. Going to build a pantry type storage cabinet to keep all of the wood working tools together. The doors will about 6 inches thick for extra storage of the light weight squares, levels and what ever else I can squeeze in.
Put the Conrail unit to work on the work train.
Hello everyone, back off my vacation (just), got loads of pics to show ya'll,,,
Carey good to see you recovering sir, take it easy,,,,, and
Flo no short skirts just yet

give him a week to settle in again

Hiya Steve, welcome back!
Hot one here today in the Mid 'Lantic region. 92 with a high humidity - Armpit City! Perfect day to be indoors, which is what I've been doing, installing the two new decoders in my P2K locos that I ordered on Monday. Took Sarah to her college on Thursday - 1 gone, 3 more to go <LOL>.
So, I figure ya'll might like to know when stuff is on sale, and I usually watch for it. I went into Wal*Mart today for some photo developing, and tires, and left with 15 bottles of Testors paint, at $.10 a piece! GO, NOW!
