Morning everyone!
Ray that's great to hear about your cat hope she continues to improve!

Not too much happened for my track last night like I anticipated but oh well that's life. I did get all the modules bolted together and last night and it looks a lot bigger that I imagined it would be, it's going to be sweet. Now the next thing on my list is to start figuring out what shapes I need to cut for sub-roadbed.

Morning from the other Indiana,

It seems any time I'm working on a problem, I figure out the answer at 4 am. I have to get up immediately and do something about it. Then I try to get back to sleep and sometimes I succeed. But I always pay for it at work.

One Christmas my father asked for an alarm clock. I got him an Oscar the Grouch clock. When it went off Oscar lifted off the lid, popped out and said, "Get up. It's going to be another Grouchy day."

Where's my blanking coffee.

Mornin' Bill!

Mornin' NickB! Thanks! Sounds like your off to a great start.

Mornin' Mouse! I resemble that. Last week I was tossing and turning till about 2AM when, Boinnnngggggg. The "duh" alarm went off in my head as to a source of RF interference in the radio mics for the show. I had 6 wall warts sitting directly a few inches above the antennas for the mics. Turns out it was only a small part of the problem, but still didn't sleep the rest of the night.

:) Happy Tuesday everyone!:)
Well, I wish mine was. I got my car back from having the window motor repair. I went ahead and had the front brake pads changed out to the ceramic type. The others I had put in were throwing brake dust all over my chrome wheels. So, "WAM!" $600.00 total bill. That, my friends, hurt like a SOB.
FYI: I found out what is going on with the powered windows in most model cars. They are using cables to raise and lower the window. These cables get twisted on the drum and bind up causing the motor to fissssst.

Hi All ! Another beautiful day here on the Niagara Frontier, Rex that hurts. ouch, spent part of the day tinkering on the layout and put a couple cars together. Pets are a joy to have . My dog is 15 years old and I don't know what it would be like without her around. hope all have a nice evening !!

Hi everyone!

Flo, hamburger all the way and a Coke, please.

Since we're talking pets, here's a pic of Lucky from our weekend camping trip. He's a stray that wandered up at our hunting camp a couple of months ago and everyone took him in. He's probably one of the most personable pups I've ever run across. He normally stays close to the camp, but followed me to the main road because our dogs were with us. Since I was concerned he might get run over, I phoned the club president and told him Lucky would be with us on our camp out. Needless to say, he had a blast with our mutts, Dixie and Jess.

In the pics, LGM was floating around this swamp in a raft. The puppy would swim out to meet him, get spooked when he got close, and swim back to shore. This went on for quite a while when he wasn't busy harrassing Dixie. :D

Here he is taking a break from "runnin with the big dogs".

Good evening from central MD!

Ray glad to hear Sheila is improving!

Nick - isn't it great to see your layout start to take shape!

Chip - I got up at 4:30am to try selecting address 03 on my malfunctioning loco, just to make sure the decoder wasn't damaged. The test was successful and I was relieved, but I couldn't get back to sleep. BTW-does your shop sell a vitamin formula that addresses the early-wakeup problem?

George/Eric - nice K9 pix! My sister-in-law in Pell City [AL] tried to get my family to adopt a puppy that one of her boys got but he decided the 'maintenance' was too much for him. I had to veto the idea, because I know exactly who would end up doing 99% of the work! (And besides, how would they ship him up here?)

This was an incredibly busy day for me, spent most of it doing Dads Taxi Service. Only free time I had was ~20 minutes to reprogram a scrambled decoder (details in another thread). Gotta get to bed now...

Actually, I've all but closed my store and now have a practice. The fact of the matter is that most people who go to sleep okay, but wake up in the middle of the night have a systemic yeast infection. The yeast's metabolism is active at night and it causes the host, you, to increase brain activity. Hence, you wake up.

There is an enzyme called cellulase that will help with this issue--it actually digests the yeast. People who take it usually sleep better within a week, but they need to take the cellulase for about 4 months to get rid of the yeast.

That's probably more than you wanted to know.

Morning Gents,

Got some sleep last night, so today is one of those days where the universe has come into alignment with me. Figure to set the base height of the layout at 49". To be honest I don't know it is high enough. I'm 6'0" and the reach is both easy and comfortable. But I'm wondering If I want to be closer to the trains.

The trade off is that my son, at 49" has to stand on his tip toes just to see. The good part of that is it will confine him to a stool, which means that he will have to run the trains with a throttle--not push then around by hand like he likes to do.

So anyway. 49" is looking good. Maybe 52". I dunno.

Hi all and hope your day is going well. Chip, my layout is about 49" and ideal...but I am 5' 9".

Things are getting back to normal from the camping trip. I have started back on the Steel Mill relocation, scenery teardown, town building, track installing,... {Voice of Mel Brooks} work! work! work! work!...

Suppose to have a 50/50 shot at rain this weekend. Boy, we really need it for the yards and flowers...even better to wash away the heavy pollen from all the tree sex.

Have a good'un!:)

Ken M Heck Ken,,,that's what i call a fantastic deal, almost as good as tree sex Rex

A very mad day at work today, and when i got home, no electric, the road builders down our road dug up a main power cable with a JCB back hoe, result big hole in bucket and half a town out in the dark, they just hooked up a portable sub station / generator trailor to the chopped off end of the 4" cable.

not good! in our county we have a law that eveything has to be hand dug until line is exposed then they can work around it. tsk tsk sorry that happened to ya....they give out fines up to 5000 bucks if u are caught digging an easement with power digger before hand digging.....hmmmm maybe your area should imply this?
