My son and I were talking this morning before we left and he was reading all of your posts of support for him. He read all of your words of encouragement and your promises of prayerful support. He was visibly moved by it. Now understand, he's 12, so he's way too cool to cry or anything, but he was really moved by your words......words from people all over the world who he'd never met or even conversed with. It really did mean a great deal to him. I'll be showing him around the new diner so he can see all that you've said when he feels up to it. Right now he's in a lot of pain, but the Morphine helps. It makes him real sleepy though.
*UPDATE*
I just got a call as I was typing this from my wife who's staying the night with him in the hospital and she said his breathing monitor keeps going off. Seems he's not breathing deep enough in his sleep and he's not getting enough oxygen. They may put an oxygen tent on him. Looks like we're not out of the woods yet! Could be a long night!
Sorry, guys, I've been running around like crazy this week. I'll fill you all in later. Phllip, I just wanted to let you know I'm still praying for you and your son. The may have him a little overloaded on morphine and need to give him some narcan so his respirations will improve or it just may be a bad pulse oxymeter. Whatever it is, I'm very hopeful it's not serious and that he's already improving.
Rainy and cold, but who cares? My son is in an oxygen tent and doing well. He even called and asked that I grab a couple of DVD's for him to watch today. Thats a good sign! And thanks for the prayers all!
Oh well, gotta run! Gotta head back to the hospital.

Thanks for the prayers. And actually, he can have twice the dosage they're giving him, but the issue he's having is getting all of the anesthesia out of his system after being under for so long. Whatever the case, the oxygen tent did the trick! Again, thanks for the prayers!

A very Good Friday to all of you out there of the Christian faith. And a good Friday morning to those of other faiths as well.
The ground has a white hue to it this morning although the roads are clear and a moment ago I saw old Mr. Sun peek through a cloud for a second. Unfortunately the cloud won this time. Wait, no Mr. Sun is back!!!!!! Yeah!!!!! (Sorry, it's been a long Winter.) Currently a nice warm 28°F here in the Finger Lakes with a predicted high of....... 33°F. WOW! (I'm dreaming of a white Easter............)
Philip, very good to hear the your son is doing better! My mother had a liver problem that made it very difficult every time she had surgery to get rid of the anesthesia out of her system. It can be a bit scary while the body gets it all sorted out.
Last night was the first complete run through of the show with all the mics. Actually went quite well except for a couple body packs that need to find a different location for their mics. The girl playing Yente wears a shawl over her head and around her shoulders so we have already tried two different tricks that didn't work. Unfortunately I don't have any great ideas at the moment. What the heck there are still 3 more rehearsals before we do it for the public next week. Tonight it may get put up in her hair by her ear and see if the shawl causes problems.
Good Morning Bill , Philip , Jeffrey & Ray ! it's downright balmy here on the NIagara Frontier ! 27 with peeks of the sun! Can you beat that ! Philip sure glad that your son is doing ok . Best wishes that he gets out of the hospital fast ! Well it's Good Friday so have lots of preperations to do to get my Easter Basket ready for tomorrow. So off to do dome chores and hope that everyone has a real good day !!!!
I decided to take the day off from work today and I am just getting around to the computer. This is the first time in years I have done so. It is also the first time that everyone; the wife and kids are also off. Right now the eggs are boiling and we will be coloring them later tonight.
It is 44 F but with the wind it feels much colder. High today is supposed to be 51 F. Tonight we have a chance of some snow. Depending on which weather guesser you listen to it could nothing to an inch. I saw on the Weather Channel that the on Mt. Washington, NH the wind is blowing at 107 MPH with gusts close to 150 MPH. Temperature was -9 F with a wind chill near -50 F.
No modeling last night. I am hoping to look over the pile and pick the next project this weekend.
Phillip, hope everything goes well for your son and continues to get better.
How's this for a close call? A man and a young woman narrowly escaped being flattened when two boxcars derailed due to a faulty wheel. An inquiry will be held to determine what they were doing on RR property in the first place and if they had anything to do with the derailment.
The latest update on little PC.........I just got back from the hospital and I guess last night was more difficult then I knew. This morning was a continuation of that with lots of pain issues and other things going on, but they got a few things worked out and this afternoon and evening is much better. The pain seems to be more under control, but they're going to hang on to him tonight and probably tomorrow night. That means easter in the hospital I guess. Thats OK. I've got some people working on maybe getting Payton Manning (the quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts football team) to stop by for a visit either tomorrow or Sunday. The hospital is named after him and he does spend time there on occasion. My son is a huge fan. I don't know if it'll happen or not (it's a real shot in the dark), but if it does it'll make his year! Anyways, mom and son are resting comfortably and I headed home to be with my daughter. Enough bout our super drama lives though.
Ready for a nice long weekend, this weeks project was to remove a large cupboard in the small bedroom, dry line it and plaster it, job done, knee knackered, time for an ice cream

How's everyone doing? Not so hot here. I think I'm coming down with a cold (stree lowering my tolerence levels?), so I hardly slept at all last night. Just tossed and turned all night. Got a call part way through the night that they're having some more minor problems at the hospital. Nothing major, just stuff to keep them from resting real comfortable, ya know? It all got worked out though. For right now I think I'm going to try and do some schoolwork. That should put me to sleep!
Man I would have liked to sleep in this morning. I promised to run sound at church for the memorial service of a family friend this morning so I will nap this afternoon. The service is for a lady who was a very good friend of my late wife and the wife of my boy's Scoutmaster who passed away a few years back. My son's considered her to be an adopted Mom as they spent as much time over at her house as they did at home very often her two sons being best friends with my boys. She is now at peace after a long battle with cancer.
Philip hope that your son is resting comfortably and recovering well! Now go take a nap....... There is nothing scarier than to have a child in danger or pain. I know God will watch over him and his recovery. My continued prayers for you and your family!
I got home last night from practice at 11:15PM and had an hour of work that had to get done before going to bed. Luckily today they just have a tech (final painting of the sets) so I don't have to be there. So I can rest up a bit and be rarin' to go on Monday. Sound went very good last night. New mic placements work out better and entrance cues were closer. I have a new kid assisting me this year who has some experience with soundboards and is blown away to be able to use a Yamaha Digital board. He has done all the scene programing and is tweeking setting and settings on the fly.
I am hoping later today to get all the paperwork put together to send out for the Electrical Certificate and might even be able to start work on my presentation for our Lake Shores Division Meet in a couple weeks.
Good Morning Folks ! Lots to do and no time to do it !! Oh well . Philip sure hope your son get over his pain soon . ray hope you made out ok with your certification. Oh yeah that would be great if Peyton stops be to see your son Philip . Well gotta get going to get my Easter Basket going . Man it came early this year . Earliest in 90 odd years I guess. Out of here and wishing everyone a Hopping good day !!!!!
Morning everyone. My wife is working all day today so I get to hang out with our daughter, she's 17 months old and has become quite the adrenaline seeker.
Hope your son feels better today Philip!!
Take care of that knee Steve, ice cream should do the trick.
Hi everyone! Beautiful day here in T-town. I hope all have a very good Easter weekend.
I will be busy today with lawn work, but hope to start cleaning up the depot. I may have another ARG first of April. We had so much fun with them, it is time to get it going again.
Hey, how about someone posting some happy news on here. Its starting to sound like the watercooler conversations in a nursing home. My happy news is I am alive, feel great, healthy, and love life and trains...and its SPRING!
