:) Morning all! It's a beautiful 63 deg here in T-town.:)

Jim/Paul: Yeah, 5th wheel trailers are nice and easy to pull (so I understand). Most, however, are very heavy and would push my F150 tow limits closer to the max. I have the power with the 5.4L engine, but the tow limit is 9000. There is nothing worst than having a trailer drive you:eek: :D. Most people that have 5th wheel use F250's to keep a nice comfort zone. Besides, with only the wifey and me, The 26 footer at 6500lbs will be plenty. One thing, there is always an "O'shucks: The overall length of the camper is 29' 9". The space between my side garage (depot) and the chainlink fence is 29 feet.  So, for now we will have to keep the gate open a little until I can move the fence a few feet (if the zoning will allow it).

Afternoon, everyone. It's a toasty 80 right now. Nice to have the warm weather but I wish it wasn't coming ahead of the vigorous cold front.

Jeffrey, that's pretty cool about the automatic light cuttoff. Is there a way you can build a dimmer switch into it. That would be a nice effect as the room lights go down and the layout lights come on. Gotta watch that blood sugar though. It's when you're low that you really don't feel too bad but you're on the fast track to a diabetic coma.

Rex, my son has a 33 foot fifth wheel and he's got the big Dodge pick up with the giant diesel engine and it's still a chore getting up hills so I can understand why you'd want to go light with a 150. It's funny how they always give RV's a length in their name that has no relationship to their actual length. My Trek is a model 2420 but it's actual length is 25' 7". I had the same kind of experience you did only I had rented a 25 foot storage space and found out that 7" was still hanging out. I hope they let you move your fence-I had to pay and extra $20 a month for a 30' storage space.

Steve, it is pretty amazing that they accomplished al those rescues with no loss of like. Now the ship looks just like a locomotive on the dead line. :(

Paul, sorry to hear about your cold - this flu-like things seems to be traveling around the country. It seems to have abated down here and I guess it's in the North now. Just plan on feeling like crap for five days and then you'll be fine again. :) The debris has mostly been hauled away form the affected neighborhoods and most of the condemned structures have been demolished. I don't kow what will ulitimately happen in terms of rebuilding. There are already a few people who have hired contractors to rebuild on their lots but a much large number of people say they are never coming back. I suppose more houses will get buit there because it's an established neighborhood but, with the bad real estate market and time for people's memories to fade, it may take a few years before it's close to what it used to look like.

Philllip, I hope your wife is still doing well and not in much pain.

My 18 year old daughter just got her notification that she got the 2008 Chancellor's Scholarship for Auburn University. It will pay for everything but her books. She's about 10 times smarter than I was at her age and I hope she goes far in life.

The lights are powered by an AT computer power supply. It doesn't take kindly to dimmers, and that's putting it mildly.:)

Hi All , Just getting ready for bed and stopped in the coffee shop. Rex I do miss camping . It was a cheap way for me to get my family of five around the country. Lots of memories . Jim three cheers for your daughter . Always glad to see young ones doing good . My daughter finally returned to collge in the fall after a five year absence . She found out how hard it is to get by without a good education . Sure am proud of her also . She made the Dean's List her first semester back . Well gotta get some rest so good night all !

Good evening folks

What a long day. I finally have some quiet time. We took the Cub Scouts into Philadelphia for Scout Day at the National Constitution Center. We had eight scouts go. The Webelos got the most out of. Two boys got 95% of their Citizenship Activity badge completed. The other Webelos have the badge and got some requirements for the Readyman and Showman. Since we took the train and my son was explaining the transit map to a couple of younger scouts he earned his Travelers Activity Badge. We came home and crashed for a little while.

Our year old gas range top cracked this evening. After I was done cooking and cleaning the skillet I heard an add cracking and then a pop. It took me a few moments to find the source. A portion of the ceramic range top cracked and broke. It looks like we will be calling Frigidaire on Monday.

Folks have been dropping by all evening paying for their Blue & Gold Banquet tickets. The B&G is Saturday. It is quiet around the house right now. My daughter is at a sleepover. My son is playing his new video game we just got this evening. Later I may watch Beowulf which we also just got. We saw the movie in the theaters and enjoyed it.

Our big snow storm fizzled and we got a little drizzle instead.

Phillip, nice to hear your wife is home!

I hope everybody has a good evening.

When it rains it pours. I let my wife use my computer in a class she taking on computers at her work and one of my logical drives on one of my hard drives got deleted.

Guess which one???

Good morning all,

It's a cold and quiet Sunday morning here in central Md, everybody else is still sleeping. I just looked out my window and saw a large pheasant running across my back yard - wish I'd had my camera!

Haven't completed much modeling to speak of, nothing I consider worthy of including in WPF anyway. But I am working on a pair of cement hoppers (one ACF, the other a PS-2) in the yellow Chessie scheme and plan on weathering those, to make my cement hopper fleet look more typical. In every group I see of a half-dozen of those cars, at least one of them is in rust-streaked Chessie paint.

CJ - you did make a backup of that clobbered drive partition - didn't you? If not, I sure hope there was nothing irreplaceable on it...

Rex, congrats on your trailer purchase. Looks like you can do serious amounts of traveling/camping now!

Jim, that's great news that your daughter got that scholarship. Wish I could say the same for my daughter, the tuition expense is the primary reason my modeling budget has dwindled so sharply.

Paul, your daughter's recent few semesters thru the 'school of hard knocks' will probably motivate her to do her absolute best in college now. I speak from experience - during my Navy enlistment, I saw how much better the officers were treated compared to the enlisted men. I always remebered that as I went thru college on the GI Bill and watched many of the younger kids [whose Dads were footing the bill] lead a wild party life and flunk out of school. We made our Sarah read Nickel-and-Dimed as a condition of our paying for her schooling. (Seems to be working so far, she made Deans List last semester.)

Good Morning Bill , Jeffrey & Ken L !! It is a turly nice day here on the Niagara Frontier , It's 22 going up to 32 , but the most important part is no shoveling . Now what do I do for my daily fitness program . Guess I'll have to find some work around the house. take care all and have a ncie day !!! Ken yes she finally gets it !

Afternoon all!

Just hangin' at the homestead and makin' chili today. Playing nursemaid to the wife too. Since she's pretty well medicated it'll make my job easier.

I'll stop back later!

Oh, and Rex, when are we going camping?

Jim, awesome news for your daughter!

Good afternoon folks

It is a busy then slow today around the house today. Wife went to work and the kids are watching a movie right now. My daughter twisted her ankle this morning in her basketball game. The floor was real slippery and she went to stop from full speed and her legs went out from under her and she turned her ankle under her body. My son has a game in about 45 minutes.

They both are supposed to have baseball and softball tryouts but now my daughter won’t make it and my son will be at basketball. We were going to go yesterday but they canceled due to the incorrect weather forecast. Of course holding outdoor baseball tryouts when the temperature is 38 F and the wind chill is 32 F seems kind of odd.

I am hoping to get some modeling in, later tonight. We will see.

I hope everybody has a good day.

A hearty Good Afternoon to everyone!

Jim congrats to your daughter! Hope she does really well there.

Philip I can smell that chili all the way up here...... Good and hot I hope. I hope your wife is resting comfortably and all goes well in her recovery.

Carey man! It is good to have those things backed up... I have to get some files backed up on my computer. (should have been done a month ago - just haven't gotten to it.)

Got a call from my son in Chicago while I was at church this morning. I couldn't make out all he was saying but he was quite upset (hearing aids need to get refurbished...). I called my son here in town who got the same message. They had to put down their old Austrailian Shepherd dog. She couldn't walk anymore and was 13 years old. Pretty long life for a big dog. It called my son back and we chatted for a while. he was feeling a bit better by the time we talked. It was a hard decision, but probably was the best for the dog. She had bad arthritis for several years, but was relatively pain free with meds. Those things sure do get to be part of the family............

No modeling. I just could not get the time.

I hope everybody has a good day.
