Morning Luc, morning Bill. Kind of a dismal day here but warm. Rained last night. A cuppa TH and a donut while I admire all the Detroit steel.

Cheers Willis

Morning everyone. Flo, coffee please, a whole pot.

Just though I'd check in and say hi. I'm really enjoying this awesome weather. Now, if we can get rid of the golden rod...

Morning All: I'll have another cuop of Luct's coffee. I can't do the donut today with the blood sugar in the good range I want to keep it there. Not much else going on here. Im' at work but it's my Friday so tomorrow is off and I get to sleep in. I got the stuff I ordered from Walthers last sale catalogue in the other day. Two each Faller mine heads and Kibri boiler houses. Now if I'd just get the layout cleaned up abit I could start bashing them and maybe have a mine or 4 going.
Opps, break is almost over so I'll see you all later.

Good Afternoon Everyone. Looks like a nice day to paint the trim on the old house . Went by the layout and it is just clling for some attention . Well maybe tonight it will get some TLC. Have a great day

Hello everyone, don't know about you Rex but i'v done running for today,,, we are having a visit from the big boss in seattle tommorow and we are having to blitz the place top to bottom, what a day, i'm off to put my feet up, 4am start tommorow. It's looking good on the BLI locomotive front, with the ebay sales this week i can buy the daddy of all BLI loco's, the AC4400CW,,, that's if i can find one

Good 'noonun everyone. Wow! Grande man you are right...beautiful day!
GettyPaul: Same here. I went to the layout with my coffee at hand this morning and it began a chant of, "I want to play! I want to play!" I begged forgiveness and explained that the tons of pine straw on the house and yard had to be removed or I would soon be removed by the boss lady.
PaulPaul: How do you like the looks of the 'mine heads' and the 'boiler house'? I thought about ordering them.

Rex: The mine heads with winch house look european but that can be hidden pretty easy. The boiler house is pretty good as is but could be changed some.
What I'm thinking about doing to the mine heads is cover the brick parts with corragated siding. I may also run the siding up higher on the head frame. Alot of head frames were covered all the way to the top because of the hard winters. I may also do a mold of the bull wheel so I can have a couple for other scratch built mine heads.

Evening Gang:
Josh: I'm doing iron mines in the Youper country. I've got a model of the Cliffs shaft in the works and plan on several more conventional under ground mines. I think that I've figured out a way to represent an open pit opertion but that won't come along untill I have more room.

Yeah, I remember that, but growing up in the UP, I allways think of the Copper Mine shafts first, putting behind the thought of the underground shafts on the iron range.

Ah! another great morning, sunny low 70'sF (20's C) and a light breeze.
I'll have a cuppa Luct's TH and one of Bill's donuts while I enjoy the nostagia of the Detroit steel.
Well have to be gone now, so Y'All have a great day.

Cheers Willis

Paul hope he didn't say get fast drying paint, only kidding, Hope it's nothing to serious Paul.

We should have gotten the tail end of Hurricane gordon today but instead it drove tropical weather north so it was like mid July again with the temp up from 50c to 80+c, very nice thank you.
My dad's not to good at present he almost drowned a couple of days ago and he's feeling generally crap after his brush with death in the river weaver, i put up some fitted wardrobes and bed today after work for him, he can go to bed now in comfort.
Fergie has your dad come home yet

Ken M a guy at work's off to NZ for three months, he's worked for Foden for ages and dealt with Southpac trucks so he's off to stay with friends, he's told me i have to emigrate as people like me and the wife will get good job's, big problem is the wife's not having any of it, lord only knows why because her hospital's closing for good within five years and job's will go.

The folks who bought our house in town are from the UK he's just landed a job as parts manager for the local Nissan dealer, they have been here about 18 months.

The other place we sold in Prebbleton last December (layout around the living room) he's a builder walked straight into a top paying construction job.

and the people we had in our flat from they bought a fence building business, and he's flat out like a lizard drinking!!

All these guys fresh from the UK and keen.

It's like when us Kiwi's come over to you get a job straight away.

Ken.
