Good Morning All

It's a Large day here as the weather for the second day will be excellent with the temps in the upper 70's

I'm off to the rail trail this morning with the bike and camera.

Got one rat yesterday (that we know of) so that's one varmit down.

Steve: she's a beaut! Is this your fist sound equipped loco? If so you are now officially ruined!

Ray: sounds like you had an excellent time and may have made some converts.

Paul: Sounds like you've got a collectable on your hands. I know some that would love to get their hands on an old tractor like that!

Time to roll

Later all

Fergie

Mornin' Bill!

Mornin' Luc

Steve and Fergie, none of these folks had ever really seen a layout bigger than a "plywood city 4' x 8'" or the circle around the Christmas Tree. So even though only about 10% of the scenery is finished, they were impressed. My former Principal and her husband came down to see it and she mumbled some things about getting some Middle Schoolers to learn about this. Maybe I will get to do some "World's Greatest Hobby" presentations over at school. I have a presentation coming up on Railroading Merit Badge and the World's Greatest Hobby next month at the Boy Scout Roundtable (Leader's Training and Business Meeting). So I have enough stuff to do to keep me out of trouble....  :D

Morning Steve. In my locomotive fleet,I have two of the Silver Series Southern MP-15's,and at my local hobbyshop,I have on layaway,a pair of L&N MP-15,with sound.I think you will enjoy the one you just got. They are SWEET. If all goes to plan, before long,I'll have six, maybe eight of them. . William.

We just got in from party No 2 of the day and i'm bushed,,, tommorow we are supposed to be going sea fishing depending on the weather but the forecast is not to good for the area so it may be a MR'ing day
Fergie what do you mean i'll be ruined,,, i already am, anyhow this is the third one the others are a P2K GP20 and a BLI NW2 and more are going to follow, i'm selling off my older stuff on Ebay and buying some sound equipped stuff., hows Lisa doing,
BTW, happy hunting
William I'm selling some of my older main line engines and getting some nice small switchers due to the size of the layout, it will be predominantly industrial switching with a slow moving train looping around on the main line, this will be hauled by SD60's SD40's and so on, hopefully they will have sound.

Hi gang,

This was a somewhat uneventful weekend for me [aside from wiring my new yard ladder turnouts], I've been somewhat out-of-sorts due to some worrisome events in the workplace. I'll know better what's going on by late Monday morning...

Rex - welcome back from the great outdoors!

Ray - glad to hear your party was a success [knew all along it would be though...].

Fergie - one down, hopefully few-to-zero remaining.

Steve - You've got me lusting after one of those sound-equipped MP15's, hopefully when I luck into some more spending money [still broke after those summer vacation trips and back2school supplies] there will be some available, somewhere...doesn't matter what road since I'll be repainting them anyways.

Oh I hate that feeling!! I've been thru that recently but now I'm just doing my job and taking the cash.

Ken.

Hey folks! Thought I would let you know, I will be gone for a few days. Leaving bright and early in the morning for my sisters house in South Bend Indiana. My son is going out to pick up a boat and trailer his uncle is giving to him and I am going to tag along and help with the driving. Good chance to see them. Haven't seen my sister since our Mother passed away last year, and haven't seen my Brother -in Law for about 3 years. It should be fun, and i might even get to do a liuttle railfaning along the way.

See you later!

Hi All:
Ken: I know how you feel. It's been going on so long at work that it's normal now. Sometimes I have to force myself to go to work. I gave up trying to be really into what I do there along time ago. Now I do what I can, and don't worry about the rest.
Ray: Sounds like you are going to have a great time. Hope you and your son have a great time.
Well I did some work on the layout. Maybe work is the wrong word. I did some moving around of turnouts to try out different approaches to the mines that I'm building. I really should use the drawing board but it's fun working with the track work.
Well it's time to head for bed.
Good Night All

Unfortunately I have to start routng through the garage to make sure if there are any more "Dead Bodies" I'll have to get them before they start to rot. Thought makes my skin crawl.

Steve: I see Trainworld is taking pre-orders for the Great Northern S2 4-8-4's.

I'll have to think this one through I think.

Ken: I know the feeling and it isn't a good one. But things always work themselves through.

Well that's a wrap as I rode 22 kms this morning and a great morning it was, not a breath of wind, the water was like glass and the temps hit around 80. finished the day with a BBQ:D

Hoping Dad gets out tomorrow so fingers crossed!

Later All

Hi fellows! We made it back from our camping trip yesterday afternoon. Man, did we ever enjoy it. There was beautiful weather (even cool at 52 deg one night), met some nice fellow campers, and lots of peace and quiet. Thought that I would share a few pixs with you.

1. Just arrived at site.

2. 10 minutes later.

3. 15 minutes later and after chopping a tree down, cutting to length, and splitting it with my Boy Scout hachet:rolleyes: :D (The hachet is for real my old Boy Scout hachet that my Dad had saved since the 50's.)

4. Taa-daa! Carolyn, giving her welcome.

Just a couple of more:

5. Mighty Moe and me in our daily position. Check out the left hand.:D :D

6. A local vistor just before sundown. Can you see him in the center?

Afternoon gang!

Rex, great pics of your camping trip! The one of Carolyn welcoming us to the temp homestead looks like a page right out of a Coleman catalog. Love the name on that trailer too, except you really might want to paint-on a war bonnet to make it "complete";)
