Thanks everybody for the comments on my place, I really like it here I have a spot picked out for my last resting place (under my layout):p

KenL Our major port is just over the port hills 43°36'26.82"S 172°43'1.31"E mainly a container port ( three crains ) but to the right under that cloud  is the coal unloading area from the trains that travel from the west coast.

This Greymouth where the passenger train runs too, I went for a ride recently. 42°27'15.84"S 171°12'24.14"E

Rex Love that bike I might have to build one.

here's a Barstool I built a few years ago with My Mate Austin at the wheel.

Ken Mhey, we built an office chair with starter motors to drive it off a 12v battery,,, heck what a scary ride that was, at first it just spun round fast as hell and after it went off so fast it threw you over the back, so in the bin it went

I'm trying to find Wiri Station rd, Manukau city Ken but can't,,, do you know where it is on google ?? so i can take a look

Mornin' Bill!

More rain here in the Finger Lakes today. Weather Man is predicting a good soaking of about and inch and a quarter over 24 hours. Can't figure out why the lawn keeps growing......... Should have washed away a couple of months ago.

Hi Java addicts! Just a quick note to thank everyone again for the B'day good wishes and to say that I will be out of here until Sunday evening. Yeah, the wife and I are heading down to a campground on the river and will spend 4 nights of relaxing and enjoying nature. We are promised ideal weather for the trip with low to mid 80's daytime and low 60's of a night (maybe upper 50's). Most important is l-o-o-w humidity.:D

RAY: Maybe your lawn mower blades aren't sharp and you are only bending the grass instead of cutting it. :D

Time to go hook up the camper. CULater

Hi everybody.

A terrible event in Montreal, quebec today.

From CBC website:
One person has died in hospital as a result of the shooting rampage at a downtown Montreal college Wednesday that also left the gunman dead and 19 others injured.
Paramedics confirmed 20 people were taken to hospital with injuries ranging from gunshot wounds to emotional shock following the shooting at Dawson College.
Police Chief Yvan Delorme told RDI television that a woman in her 20s had died.
Montreal General Hospital officials said eight patients were in critical condition, with two undergoing emergency surgery late Wednesday night. The hospital said it would not issue a further statement on the victims' conditions until early Thursday.
Three other victims were taken to Jean Talon Hospital and two others were transported to the Jewish General Hospital.
The lone gunman was shot dead by police minutes after he opened fire on the student body at Dawson College, a CEGEP serving about 10,000 students near the Old Forum in Montreal.
The suspect reportedly walked into Dawson College around 12:41 p.m. ET and began firing at students in the cafeteria. Police arrived three minutes later.
"They saw a suspect shooting inside the walls of Dawson," Delorme told a news conference. "So the first policeman took charge of the situation, and shot in the direction of the suspect, and the suspect died."

I went to college not too far from that school...

Please keep the students and their family in your thoughts.

Has anyone ever used the Woodland Scenics foam risers? I've noticed 1 out of 3 are too tall!

Not quite sure what you mean by "1 out of 3 are too tall" but to answer your question , yes I have and they have their place. my only complaint is the transiion between change in grades. If you follow the riser without allowing for a gentle change you will have dips and peaks that will cause the Locos to "jump" and it Ain't Pretty! Personally I prefer spline though it is labour intensive.

BTW

Morning ALL
It's seniors day at Zellers!;)

The rats must have eaten too much the other night as it looks like they didn't come back for seconds last night:rolleyes:

Later All

Mornin' Bill!

Mornin' Fergie! So you gave them big oversized meeses a treat? Hope they didn't decide to go sleep it off in a partition in your house. They smell real bad after about a week.... LOL

I am busy cleaning for the party of the year at my house this Saturday. Final tally is about 35 people. Yesterday the retired Home and Careers teacher that is co-hosting the party (it is partially a party for her husband's 75 b-day) went down cellar with me to check out some tables and chairs that I will bring up to the lawn for the party. Never got past the layout........ Her mouth dropped open and she just stared for about 10 minutes. I think she was impressed. ;) :D She was thinking a little toy train.

The Mod-u-rail sections come with three 2" risers each, suggesting that you rais the track at least 2" from the base. 1 of the 3 from both packs is approximantly 1/32" too tall, causeing a variance in track height. Lucky module #2 & #3 will have risers I bought, I'm going to sandwich cardboard between two 1" risers, since I have 2.2% grade, I'm manualy building it. After I start the REAL layout, it'll be spine though.

Luc it makes me wonder what drives people to do things like that,,,
Fergie hopefully the little critters won't come back
RayHope the party's a success Ray

Afternoon All !!! Luct I'm sorryfor the city of Montreal and for Dawson College Studentsand family. It seem so easy for people to kill others nowadays.you can just wonder where it is all heading ? May they rest in God's arma nand may the wounded heal quickly

Evening All: It's been a busy day. The burn ban was lifted so we burned one of the brush piles that have been collecting. I think that I fixed the fuel leak on Mary Ann's tractor and I drove the other tractor in to the dealer for a servising. After a hearty beans and corn bread dinner at the Pythian Home we are heading for bed. Opps she beat me. No MRRing today, rats. Oh sorry about that Fergie. Well I'm off to bed. Have a good night everyone.
