Mornin', Luc!

PaulWhat kind of tractors are you using? My Father's cousin was Don Howard of farm machinery fame. At one time he had the largest farm equipment sales in the country. They were right next door so I drove just about everything made back in the sixties and before. Started on my dad's old Ford 8n when I was 4 years old back in 1951. Now I find stuff like the big Olivers, Alice Chalmers, and the Ford 6000 that were the latest monsters back then in the tractor museums... LOL

Mornin', Bill!

Got one more day to get everything done for the party. Have about three days worth of work to do........

Hello everyone,,,
nice and sunny here after the rains this week,,, but this has made the grass grow again, i think the rain contained some kind of magic grow fertiliser. Just took the kids on an expidition into the woods for the afternoon, it's a great place with some big tree's, there are beach trees well over 100ft and pine trees even bigger, they are monsters to the kids. Time for a curry,,, later folks

Oh and i have been working hard on the Yarrow Valley sub this week, the plan went "out the window" within hours of starting, were on version 23 i think

Good afternoon Steve/Ken/Josh and crew,

Been a rough day for me at the office so Steve I'm ready to share a cold one with ya! Looks like your sound-equipped roster is about to grow once again...

Luc - that's totally sickening about the shootout. Seems like we (Canada and U.S.) are home-growing enough terrorists of our own:mad:

Paul B - I wish my neighborhood would let me do outdoor burning, I have a huge pile of branches that got blown off my trees during Earnesto.

Fergie - hope the rats are history. My house [lower level] has been invaded by crickets, not as bad but still too noisy for my taste...

. . .
Time for another game of highway roulette, later y'all!

Hi All: We used to be able to burn without permission. Now with all these newbys moving in and not having the expereance to do it responsibly the powers have decieded that everyone is an idiot. when you have as much land as we have the brush piles up fast.
Ken, I got a couple of mailing tubes so if you will send me your address I'll get a copy of those 1/16 plans for the MV Buffalo to you.
I'm going to head on out now. Have a Good Night everyone.

What's wrong with a good garden rubbish fire,,, as long as everything dry and you make sure that oxygen can get underneath it'll burn with virtually no smoke, the folk's who try to burn fresh cut wet stuff and old furniture and tires are the idiots who spoil things for everyone. I'm going to build a good old incinerator in the garden from brick this winter which will stand about 5 ft tall, and on top of this i have a good piece of clay pipe for the chimney about six feet tall, if anybody say's "What the hells that" i'll say "Why it's a BBQ" of course;)

Early Morning to everyone.
Ray: We have 3 tractors that we use here. Mary Ann's is an International 574, a 74 model that we bought new. It is 52 horse power with about 3500 hours on it. Mine is a L2250 Kabota 4x4 with a loader. It's a 25hp and 1267 hours. The last is a Kabota G4200 lawn and Gardn tractor with a belly mower that gets used for the yard and under the pecan trees and like yesterday when I spot mow weeds in the fields. It's just easyer to get the little tractor out then it is to switch implements on the others. Mary Ann also has an Allis Chalmers B like her dad and uncle got when they stopped using horses and mules. Her brother gave it to her and it needs restoration when I retire.
Steve, the problem with folks burning is that they let the fires get out of control and than we have large grass fires like last year. Over 1,000,000 acres burned in Texas last year and this spring. Most of the fires were started by people burning trash or arsonists.
well it's time to punch in. Yes I'm at work. No such thing as a weekend off when you work for a theme park.

Mornin' Bill!

Mornin' Luc!

Paul, I adore the old Alice Chalmers B tractor. I have threatened to get one to have sitting in my drivway here in town. Just to start up and run around my house... That or a John Deere B. The Alice was the second tractor I ever drove and was the original tractor my Grandfather got for the farm when they retired the old 3 horse team of Belgian draft horses. It had been passed through a couple of relatives before my Father used to borrow it when we needed an extra tractor for haying. I was all of 6 years old at the time and couldn't handle the clutch on it so i got yelled at a lot... LOL

The B is a really nice little tractor. Hers is an early 1940 so it doesn't have a starter or brake pedals. The brakes are applied with handles on each side of the drivers seat. It's started with a hand crank. I am looking but not too hard for a later model with a starter and pedal brakes. It would be nice if it was running also. So far the ones I've seen are priced way out of line.

Whew! I'm tired. Party was fantastic. Good to see old friends and colleages. Many I haven't seen in years. When we brought the birthday cake out for Jerry to celebrate his 75 B-day, I brought out a fire extingusher with it. Brought several laughs. Near the end of the party I gave tours of the Seneca Lake, Ontario, & Western RR. A gentleman who was head of the Music Dept. when I was hired to teach here took me up on it along with several others and when he left he went outside and told two Art teachers I used to work with to get down stairs and see it. They came down and went nuts. One said "Oh, I thought it was just a little toy train, WOW!" One of them who is very outspoken just looked, and looked, and then looked some more. She poked at the scenery, stared at the backdrop, looked at some weathered rolling stock. After a long time she looked at me and grinned and said, "Ray, I always knew you were crazy. This proves it. How much time have you put in to this, it is amazing." yeh, It was a fun evening! :D

Glad it was a hit Ray, sounds like you may have some new helpers, were off to a christening now, 9am start then when we get back it's the woman next door's birthday party at 2pm, busy day
later folks
