Mornin' Bill! Howdy everybody! Gonna be another busy day here. Just about ready to ride over to the next little city (Canandaigua) to go to my Father-in-law's 93rd. Birthday Party. He will probably be in a snit all afternoon (meaning, he is having fun....). His family has just got him settled into the County Nursing Facility (best Home in the area - excellent care) and is in the same room with his 92 year old wife of 70 years. They managed to get him in there due to a technicality that he was living alone and was not making good decisions about things. Like letting a guy come into his home and rob him repeatedly.......

Have a great day!

Ken Mhave fun with the saw Ken, have you got some leg and face protection there bad suckers when they bite back

Yeah it's a good idea but I'm a risk taker. We had a good trim up of some trees that had a bit of snow damage. Now we have a pile to burn!! Marshmellows anybody??

Great to get out in the Spring air and clear the flu out.

My PK2 axles finally arrived (no tyres on the wheels) for my SW8's and boy do they run smooth now, no stopping on the frogs!!

The Track plan is looking more and more like a recent John Armstrong plan MR Mag August 06 A,T&S Alma District. I like it cause it fits my room and it's simple.

Ken.

Good evening.

I had fun playing with the camera. It is a Kodak C340, 5 Mpixels. I placed it on a flat car and sent it around the town in the "movie" mode. Not too bad of job. I'm learning more and more.

My son and I had a good visit, he needed time away from home and also see mom. All and all, it was a good day.

Welcome back Fergie. I hope the Mrs and your dad are OK. I remember only too well my traveling days in the navy and coming home, there was always something no-one had mentioned and the excuse was "I did want to worry you".

Hope you all had a great day.

Happy MRRing.

Good morning ! from Indiana.:D

Mornin' Bill!

Steve, My Father-in-law seemed to have a good time at his birthday party yesterday. He is settling in to their room at the Nursing Home well. I think he is glad not to be living alone anymore and to be back together with his wife. She is elated about having him there. Barney would have made a good hermit........ If you overstay your welcome he usually says, "Why the H*!! don't you leave so we can both get on with our &^%$*@ lives. (He was a plumber by trade....)

Ken M, careful with that saw! I once fell out of a tree I was triming with a chainsaw in my hand. Saw didn't get me but a sappling broke and dug up my leg a bit. In the emergency room (where my wife worked...) as I was waiting to get sewn up, one of the nurses asked what happened. After hearing it was a chain saw accident, said, "Oh tried to cut off the wrong limb?"

BTW, that stadium looks like "nosebleed city"! I think I'll watch it on the idiot box! (If it still works,,, hasn't been on for a couple of weeks. I got a railroad to build you know! :D ) Last time I was in one of those places was at the Boy Scout Order of the Arrow National Conclave with about 7000 other Scouts and leaders. One the characters in our group kept saying, "Moooooo" as we were herded into there for evening programs. Cattle Drive!

Afternoon all,
i have to say i'm sad to hear that Steve Irwin AKA The Crocodile hunter has died, he was an icon in the world of conservation and will be missed by millions of people.

Just come in from my 4 week post op check up, everything's healing up nice but there is another problem related to my hearing and other stuff which requires a brain scan, should be fun, not

Rex how does it compair to "my" team's 107,501... (for those of you clueless UofM's stadium)...

http://www.collegecharlie.com/stadiums.html
Looks like it wins out in seating capacity buy about 230 seats... over Penn State...

Josh: Simple! Alabama's stadium is sold out for every game as most SEC stadiums are. As I said: 5th on campus and 7th for all in size.

Ray: It is like a cattle drive to get into one of these things. There were some serious problems with the students trying to get through their gates. Seems that the campus police were checking purses and bags for alcohol and etc and that the ID card swip machine was operating in slooow mode. This caused some not to get in until the end of the 1st quarter. From the reports, there was almost a "Rush the gate" crisis. That would have been very serious.

Steve: Yeah, I hate to hear about the croc hunter. He was always so full of life and very entertaining, to say the least.

So I'm guessing its topping out more then the 97K they said on that site, with the new stands added? I couldn't imagine what would happen if a place like that had some disaster, or even what traffic would be like when it let out!

Well, the traffic is handled surprisingly good considering the stadium is almost in the center of the campus. Fans are encouraged to park at malls and other locations with direct bus service to the stadium. They have also started closing some of the streets around the stadium and campus to prevent the jamups that they used to have. I made the mistake after going to one game and took a short-cut. Ha!! I ran smack into one of the main exit arteries and there wasn't a cop at that intersection.
After about an 1 1/2 hours after the game, traffic is about like a weekday rush hour. Tolerable!

I know what you mean about a tragedy. Everytime there is a large sports function anywhere, that always come to my mind. Gads! That would be horrible.

Ah. I get sweaty palms just reading these posts. Many (!) years ago, I was with my parents in an ice hockey arena when the roof collapsed due to heavy snow pack. (Duluth, doncha know?) Even now, I get anxious in large crowds --- much to the dismay of the Sports Nut husband who considered 100,000 fans in the L.A. Coliseum to be "cozy" when we lived there.

Good mornin' Bill! Good Mornin' Luc! This is my favorite morning of the year. Around here all the teachers and staff have to report to school for meetings. I can sleep in. Seventh year of retirement comin' up! :D :D :D

That coffee smells good, and I think I'll have a couple of those donuts, Flo. LIFE IS GOOD!!!!

Good morning Bill, Luc, Ray and gang!

As some of you may have surmised from my absence, my home has been without internet coverage ever since early Saturday morning - not sure why, but I suspect that the local Verision DSL server may have had flooding issues. All I know is that when I tried to call their tech support, the recording said that service wouldin't be open until 8:00amEDT Tuesday morning (today) - a whole lotta good that does me since I have to be at work during that time!

Oh well, at least I found many other things to keep me occupied during the 3-day weekend - some of them MRR related, others not.

Luc I haven' seen you on his side in ages, welcome back, hope you and Gloria are both doing OK!

Rex I'm happy fer ye, I agree with Steve a win is a win is a win...!:D

C-U-all later

Hi yall! Just catching up on the reading here. Seems like I just start a new position and get laid off. Seems the hospitals that I was hired for aren't ready for the program. Result is I now have nothing to do after two months of training. So since they don't know when the hospitals in the system will be ready, 7 total, I don't get to teach. No teach, no work. No work, no pay. Rats!

Hiya all,,,
Carey That suck's,,, after all the reading and travelling, i don't know what to say
Claudia 100'000 crowd = no fun for me either, i don't know about cosy

Well, i have got started on the new and improved Yarrow valley sub division of the BN railroad this weekend, the main job was re locating the support shelving for the gate and securing it, i just put a 3ft section linking together the two half's were i cut them in half, just got to let the glue dry overnight
