Mornin Bill. Hello everyone. Miss Flo,some of your strongest coffee please,I have one of those "days" coming up this morning. The boss is talking changes in the way I do my daily work, and I am not excited. Oh well, maybe things are not as bad as they seem, but,I'll see when I get in. I hope to have a quiet Labor Day week-end,what about you guys? William.
Hope you sell the camera this time Josh, it's crap when that happens and you want to buy something with the $$$ you will make. Ray great work with that pesky tortie.
Well all hells broken loose again at work after the shutdown for the inventory check, i'v got an endless task packing all the truck down orders for american and Canadian truck dealers, hopefully we'll hit the deadline for the last flight tommorow afternoon.
Guess I really will have to get outside and mow the lawn today. We got laws in these parts about how high the grass can grow........ Have a lot of other yard work that needs to get done before snow flies this Winter. Oh well...
I have a couple of shots of the work with the tortoise that was giving me problems:
Hi Ray.
I've learned a great secret. LGM does a great job mowing!!! That works out well. He's got gobs of energy and I hate to cut grass. A match made in Heaven.
BTW, I'm glad to hear that you finally won that street fight with the Tortoise machine.
grande man, my son (who turns 40 in October) never did get the gist of mowing a lawn. He would always mow over stuff that should be moved or mowed around and managed to always miss large areas of high grass. I think he was just smarter than I and knew how to get me to not make him mow the lawn. Anyway, I got about 3/4s of it done today and cut up a goodly pile of wood that I had been saving. These were from a Rose of Sharon bush that was dying and I cut down last spring. I had been waiting to trim out the ends of the branches for use as armatures for model trees on the layout. Got a big pile.
Staples had a huge sale on office chairs so I went over and spent too much money for a new chair for my home office. Took about an hour to assemble and needed a lot of colorful language also.
I am, however, starting to decal my locos for the Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western RR. I should have some photos for WPF.

Hello everyone Welcome back Fergie
It's good to have you back from Tapeworm,, pull up a chair the drinks are on us Josh just listned to the budd advert,,,Oh dear
Fergie!!!! Good to see you back here. You've been missed.
grande man, Yep, I did give some cash incentives at times. But, we're talking about a kid who when I walked out the door to go work on Camp Staff for a week told me, "Don't worry Dad, I'll finish the dishes in the sink this afternoon." Then I come home 6 days later to find the same dishes in the same dishwater and a very large pile of dirty dishes sitting on the counter that was empty when I left. I think my Father's way of handling things worked better. He was old school! I would say, "what will you give me to mow the lawn?" He would reply, "Not a darned thing. But I sure as he!! will give you something if you don't!" And he meant it.....

Even got a Flash Flood watch for the Finger Lakes for tomorrow. We are supposed to get between 1 and 3 inches of rain here. Oh well, I will make sure all the downspouts are unclogged and be thankfull I live on high ground. My son and his wife are coming over tomorrow for a picnic supper...... Guess it will be inside.
Well I can tell you Ernesto is alive and well and raisin' h*** in my area as I sit here typing this message. The peak wind speeds will occur between 11:00pm and midnite, if I get thru the night without losing power I'll be happy. I just spent a lot of time and sweat getting my portable generator working again, I even had a Plan B all mapped out if this effort failed. Why so much worry over electicity? My sump pump needs electrical power and runs almost continuously whenever there is significant rainfall. Being without a sump pump when there is 2 inches/hour of rainfall means major flood damage - not to the trains, but to the carpet, sheetrock, furniture and everything on the lower floor.
Ray - brace yourself, it's a' comin' your way - gonna be a wet one!
Fergie, great to have you back! With this garbage weather heading your way it's better to NOT be out at sea!
Steve - I remember that mock bud commercial about "Mister Miniature Train Modeler" when somebody posted a thread about it across the street. Generated a lot of discussion...and some heat <LOL>!
Lookit that, post #1000. Anyways, just stopping by quick, had a bad day railfanning today, so I'm out tomorrow (Saturday) in & around Needles CA (if anyone knows where that is). I'll post pics after the weekend is through.
