Howdy folks,,,what a day today was, the weather's changed big time, howling wind and torrential rain and next week were back to desert conditions.
And to make my day complete on a 1 hour round trip taking nan and gramps home a 100 ton mobile crane caught fire on the motorway causing us a three hour delay with gramps having an accident on the car seat, Oh Well.

Fridays the BIG day for me as i'm on the chopping board over friday night / saturday morning so there will be no MR'ing this weekend, hopefully everything will go to plan,,,

later

Evening all,,,Morning Ken M, hope your feeling better
Howdy Bill, no cakes today i'll save space for all the ice cream i'll get in hospital

Howdy Everyone! (Too late to say Mornin' to Bill I guess. Just poped in to say hi from Camp Babcok-Hovey here in Ther Finger Lakes of NYS. The Science and Tech Camp spent the day at Cornell University and got to tour the Mars Rover Project. We sat and watched and listened as the team was working with other Scientists around the world as they developed the program for Spirit for the next several days. Since it is Winter where Sprit is parked, it gats little light and so they have to balance getting enough data to keep the project going with the need to conserve power.

We also toured the "Clean Rooms" at the Nano Technology Research Lab. Here we are all suited up ready to go on the tour.

Ya know some of this research will lead to better decoders for our Locos in the future. (Snuck Trains into the pots - ain't I sneaky.)

We have a great bunch of kids that seem very excited about the things we have done this week. Here is one photo from our COPE Course at camp. This is the end of the zip line:

See ya all later!

Good Morning Bill!
I'm gaining weight just looking at those pastries, but tomorrow is my birthday and I'll splurge on one of those twisty, sticky buns.
I can resist anything except temptation!
Well, the overseer is wandering around, so I need to return to my rowing position as galley slave.
Maybe next week I'll be promoted to Fireman on a coal-fired steamengine?

Ray: that sounds very interesting. You guys must have really enjoyed the tour. The photo shows a lot more very senior scouts than Boy Scouts:D :D .

Mikey:Happy Birthday, tomorrow! You always hate to count them, but you sure appreciate getting them.;)
Hey, I have a like new treadmill that I can loan you. It may take a few hours to get the spider webs clear:D. Seriously, when I can get the courage to use it I always feel so much better each day. The problem is getting the courage.

I'm back everyone! Had a sort, unexpected internet outage there, since Tuesday morning. Seems someone screwed up and moved a 3rd person into my barracks room, so I opted to move out early so that they wouldn't have to kick anyone out. So I had to cancel my internet there. BUT I'm up and online with my SUPER fast Time Warner Cable :) . Only thing is my computers don't like the cable as much, they like to crash it. Fully moved in now, got the computer desks, a kitchen table, TV stand (no TV), my printer works, new kitchen stuff, two bookshelves (one for Stacey's books & one for my trains)...

BUT since the internet has been, inaccessable, I've done some clean up work on the SD50F, and started adding details, and just a tad bit of work on the Slug. You'll see this weekend.

Hey William! Are you going to enter the August photo contest with 1 of your cabooses? They sure are beauties.
