Just kidding. I visited your post and man you have made some incredible headway in a short time. Nice going my friend.

Thanx
Rex! Coming from you, with the way you build your benchwork, I view that as quite a compliment
I'm really proud of the way the gate turned out.

Even you can work it!

(Sorry just had to say it!

)
The gate is simply a reinforced box on casters. Thought I was gonna have to get some heavy duty casters for it until I discovered a set that I already had, that according to the package would support up to 100lbs each.
I figured that since the gate is just going to support just its frame work,(less than 15lbs), the additional scenery, the bridges across it and the wiring for the kill circuits, is going to weight a
lot less than their capacity. As its built now, its very easy to unlock, and swing out and back. It comes back into the layout to its proper position every time.
Even William was impressed

!
Been experimenting with the spline roadbed, and just gotta work out a technique that works best for the layout. I got a dozen spring clamps, & a lot of spline cut. Now I gotta go and cut more spacers to go between the splines.
Just wish the materials I've ordered would get here, so I can start on the main level!
