For those of you here in the States, I hope you have a good Memorial Day weekend. Remember: The Indy 500 is a rack track...not the Interstate highway. "Keep it slow and safe.";) :)

Rex;

You're right of course.
I had to take a day trip to my sister's this past Thursday. Its an 85 mile drive from my house to hers. I got to a small town about 15 miles north of Selma, and in that 15 miles I passed 20 State Trooper cars coming north. Selma has the Trooper Training Center and patrols have really been beefed up for the weekend. I can only imagine the number sent south toward the beaches.

Ray I know a guy (he doesn't cut his grass every day thou) that cuts his grass twice all the time once on an angle say left front to right rear then right front to left rear it gives it a diamond design in the grass so I guess to each his own have to amit it looks nice thou . He does his thou about every 3 or 4 days.

Hi all just a stop by to happy Memorial Day weekend to all. Again another time to remember our fellow Vets

Have a great Memorial day folks, were on the same long weekend over here as well. Nothing much going on except for a steam train movement tonight at 1.30 AM, two loco's on the point as well, it's going from the trains home base in Carnforth in Lancashire up to Fort William in Scotland for the next month or so's steam services, i'll be well and truly asleep by that time.
Fergie ON30 outside is not such a bad idea, a guy at works doing a OO scale layout outside this year, don't know how the track will last, i think the plastic will deteriate with the sun's UV light and turnouts are out of the question so he's putting them in the shed / staging

Morning folks, we have a long weekend next week, Queens Birthday. We celebrate and the English don't!!?? weird huh!!

I've taken Thursday and Friday off too, so 5 days for me!!

Thursday I'm in the cab again, off to the west coast on the Midland line ( the line I'm modeling ).

Can't wait for this trip on the passenger train with lots of coal trains coming the other way.

The Otira tunnel has special rules where only trained personal are allowed in the cab due to potential fumes/ breakdown so I have to ride with the passengers till we get thru.

Friday we're moving my Sister into the flat here at home. I'll still be buzzing from Thursday!!

Sad day for me... Looks like I won't be able to make it home to MI before the WCL SD45's make their last stand. Reports from a Yahoo group show thats there's 17 left.

Hello all,
Ken M,,, we are on holiday Monday as well Ken, have a great time on the rail's i know i would.
I got two sections of the house fitted with new fascia board and guttering today, just re erecting the scaffolding over the conservatory roof which is a pain in the you know what due to lack of space on one side, all i can do is cantilever some 4"x4"'s from the oposite wall and run some planks over the top, it will work but it's a pain to do.

Ken M OUCH that must have hurt,,,
Josh My friend in Illinois is a big fan of the 45's, he used to be an Engineer for UP and CNW then Amtrak and Metra

Thanks fer the doughnuts Bill they is makin me fatter than I needs to be but they is soooooooo gooooooooddddddddd

Mornin' Bill! I'll have a couple of the glazed ones and a cup of dark roast java. Gotta get to work on the Garden today if I'm going to have one this year. Out of money for needed RR stuff anyway until the first of June. Once I get the junk out of the garden, I will have to reinstall a fence to keep the neighborhood bunnies out. They have "meetings" in my lawn every night. I guess they enjoy the dandelions crop I've been growing there (mayby its the clover.....). It will be well into the 80's here in the Finger Lakes today and very humid so my first job after breakfast was to install one of my window airconditioners. Feels better in here already!

Have a great day!

Just posted an epic on the Memorial day photo fun

Hi crew,

Been a busy holiday weekend for me - finally finished shooting the photos I need for my presentation. What made it rough was, every time I had the camera mounted on the tripod and ready to shoot, I would notice some glaring flaw [usually unpainted benchwork] that I just had to paint over; this happened a dozen times (one of which I had to rush out and buy more paint) so you can imagine how frazzled I was by the time the shooting was over! Anyway, all I need to do now is sort and crop the images for PowerPoint. Surely I'll think of some way to complicate that as well...

KenM - Wow, did that kid survive the accident!? (kinda looked as though he brought it upon himself though... )

Steve - That was quite an interesting re-enactment there, I actually thought it was the real thing for a moment...:o

Josh - Sorry to hear you can't pay a farewell mvisit to those 45's, hope Steve's friend can catch them for you...

Later, all!
