Fergie- your slogan:
If you could roll back the hands of time, You'd be standing on the platform, waiting for the next train into the future.

Fun Fare 5/11 is dedicated to you!;)
Mikey

Thanks Mike! That was a phrase my Dad coined several years ago as he reminisced his boyhood. As he said it I envisioned a station platform shrouded in the mist with a big clock on it, no passengers and no trains, but a feeling of impatience as I waited for "the next train into the future".

G'morning, Bill and All. Hey, I get dibs on the big red mug this morning! NEED COFFEE!!!!!

Mornin' Bill! My doctor says I shouldn't drink much coffee with some of the medications I have to take. So, I make it just one................. POT!! :D

Morn'n coffee clubbers!! Just reading the morning paper and found an interesting story.

New Zealand has the 2nd highest number of cars per capita than the rest of the world.

613 cars per 1000 people. US has 482 per 1000 and Luxembourg is the winner with 633 per 1000 .
Amazing that a small country like ours has so many cars!!

Ken.

Hi Flo! Whazup? Yeah it is kinda quiet in here tonight. Everyone must be partying!:D

What's that? How am I doing? One word hun, TIRED!;)

Had the ARG boys over at the house today and they started my benchwork for me. The day went very well, (at least for them), but for me it started out as a disaster!:( Had to go to the Home Depot this AM first thing when they opened. Needed to get the lumber for the project and wouldn't ya know it, while my wife and I are there, it starts raining. HARD!:( I had a tarp to cover everything with, but I still had to get the tarp off to unload.

Then the NWS announces a severe thunderstorm warning for the area just NW of my house and I'm thinkin', is this meeting gonna occur or not???

Fortunately, it came off without a hitch. (At least everyone says so.) But I got so stressed about it that I'm actually exhausted, and all I did was basically watch and cook!:D:D

Think I'll just relax now, take some headache medicine and go to bed!:p

'Nite Flo.

Hey everyone! How's all today? We had a good time yesterday working over at CJ's on his new layout. I am trying to figure out who hit me in the back with a 2x4. I know someone did as every muscle aches this morning. :D

Well, got to go and pickup my Mother for her special day. Hope all of you have a fine day.

Mornin' Bill!

Rex, you probably caught that flu going around. I've heard it is caused by something called Manual Labor. (I used to to think he was the president of Spain ........... LOL) Sounds like you and the gang had fun yesterday.

I managed to get the "cow pasture" in front of my house mowed again this morning. Figured I'd better do it now since it has been over a week since the last crop was baled and the weather man says were are in for several days of rain. As usual a couple of neighbors came out and ran their mowers. Not sure why, they mowed theirs yesterday. When I finished I saw one of my neighbors sweeping the road....... She was picking up little itsy bittsy blades of grass and putting them in a little shopping bag........ I have no clue why? As I am typing the guy across the street is mowing his lawn. That makes 6 times in 6 days. He mowed it 18 hours ago.......?????

Happy Mother's Day to all!

ARG nice work at Careys gent's, if you are ever over here, Mmmm,,,hey Carey i know what you mean about the rain, it's been a fantastic sunny week, till i went outside with my
5" electric core drill, just started and it threw down,,,there are no gutters on my house at present and all the rain went down a roof valley and straight at me under my makeshift plastic shelter which didn't work. I had to finnish the holes as it was a hire tool and i only had it for 4 hours.

Hey Bill I like that new coffee fandangled machine you gots there. It looks real pretty but not pretty enough fer me to try and drink a cup of the stuff it made.

Meet Miss Molly! The newest addition to the family

2257631710055190408aQtRxc_ph.jpg

6 weeks old part Beagle, part Bordie Collie and half Labrodor Retriever.

Well not much going on the MR today as I'm in the garden hustling as I return to Newfoundland a week come Thursday. I have a busy week and a half ahead of me.

Fergie

Good morning crew,

Haven't been spending much time in front of the 'putor this past weekend because I've been in the garage, racing to complete 3 different layout scenes at once! (Blame it on ADHD) I needed a 'backdrop' building for one of my lineside industries, and I figured I'd save time by using a Walthers Heritage Furniture kit. What I had totally forgotten was that all the beautiful concrete trim we see in the catalogue pictures is NOT on the unassembled kit pieces - it needs to be manually painted-on! That set my schedule back 4 hours, plus I had to do a number of Mothers Day-related activities. All in all it was a great weekend though...

Fergie - I noticed you tried to skype me, sorry I wasn't there to get your call [see my earlier comments above]. Ms. Molly is a real beauty, those are some of my favorite breeds in her genetic makeup. Hope you get all the stuff done that you need to before heading back up North.

Ray - My neighbor must have relatives in your area, he's always on his ZTR mowing his pristine lawn. My wife thinks that's as much of a hobby to him as my trains are to me. (What else are 13yr-old sons for anyway? ;))

Carey - glad to hear the ARGH was successful, in spite of your post-traumatic-stress reaction. Least now you've got some benchwork up...

Rex - Hope your Mothers Day celebrations went nicely...

Steve - sounds like you had to endure some horrible working conditions yesterday with that rented drill. Did you "win" those mill cars on eBay that you were telling me about?

. . .
Well thats about it for me, for now. C-U-later

Mornin' Bill!

Ken, in all honesty I do enjoy living in a beautiful neighborhood with great neighbors. Some of them just take their "hobby" to extreems. Kinda like many of us MR people (that includes me). LOL

Steve, I hope you have dried off and didn't catch p-numonia drilling those holes.

Fergie, for some reason Miss Molly's photo won't load on my computer. Bet she is a cutey. Always nice to have a new addition to the family. In a moment of weakness when my father was dieing, I told him I would take one of the kittens that he had been raising on his back porch. I ended up with two from the litter. Then my Mom passed away last year and I ended up with her old kitty, so I now have 3 cats in my house. I have gone from "cat hater" to "cat hoarder" in the space of 4 years........ They are sweeties though and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Well, I gotta run. Got "yard work" to do ya know. :D

Hello everyone, another very wet day today but i was inside so who cares,
Ken the auction ends tommorow for the mill cars, dare i bid, Mmm that is the question,,,how much do i value my life,
well i just got the high bid on all three cars plus a Hornby grand suspension bridge
Fergie Pic won't load,,hope you enjoy your new companion, my friends just got a fat cat, when he got up last week it had multiplied by seven overnight.

Mornin' Bill! Hope the coffee is strong this morning. I am doing most of the "behind the scenes" work for the MLK Scholarship Dinner tomorrow night. If I call the local College Dining Service one more time to change the food order, I think they are going to have me Drawn and Quartered! Still have to print out the programs on fancy paper, print the table tent "tickets" and get reserved table signs made. One very good thing is I get to hand out an award to an educator who is being recognized for her work for human rights in the community. It is fun to give out over $6000 in scholarships to some wonderful high school seniors to help them go to college. Have a High School Band Concert to do sound for this evening so I don't think much time will be spent on the railroad today.

Hope everyone has a great day!
