Ray we went to the garden centre and they have a cat which looks about 50, they are not sure of her age but at a guess must be over 20.

DCC for tanks This looks fun, you can get some fancy stuff for tanks which use SD cards to store all the info, you just plug them into the PC to reprogram them with any files you want, not bad prices either.

Steve how many Channel is your TX? is it one that came with the tank or did you get a moded heli TX?
I guess we lost you to tanks, hey you'd be glad to know our park has a working Tank on display! Kids climb all over it! we can't let them in though:( if you want a pic I'll get you one monday evening just remind me!

We got the latest one from heng long that came with the tanks, it's sort of proportional, on it's own it's basic but if you put an El Mod think tank booster and sound chip in the tank it changes it totally beyond recognition with full 10 step proportional control, momentum, turning, turret control, five simultaneous sound files at once and so on, They ARE more addictive than loose women and beer, and vice versa (lucky for the wife)

My Other home

It's OK but a little quiet

Ray I'm waiting for my cactus to bloom which will be sometine at the end of June or early July . Hope they are half as nice as yours

Sorry to hear of Tim Russert's passing. Certainly another great from Upstate New York! Oh, don't forget to post some photos when your cactus blooms!

Just got home from the Birthday Party... Photos will be posted later. Have to get over to school for tonight's performance......

Evening, everyone.

Ray, very nice picture of the Cereus. I was lucky enough to be out in the Mojave Desert one spring many years ago when we had good rains all winter and spring. There were whole hillsides of Cereus blooming and the fragance was almost overwhelming. I don't think I ever saw that many bees, butterflys, and moths in one place at one time ever again.

Chris, glad to hear you're feeling somewhat better and you're still getting some rain. We've never had any watering restrictions here even at the height of the drought. Prattville sits on top of a huge artesian aquifer that's estimated to contain something like 30 million acre feet of water. We couldn't run out of water if everyone left their sprinklers on 24 hours a day. Not so once you get further out in the country though. They have been under water restrictions the last two years.

Paul, Tim Russert was a great journalist and one of the few that asked hard questions of everyone he had on Meet The Press. Most politicians felt pretty good if they survived intact after a half hour with him. He will be missed. :(

Ray, sounds like you had a nice birthday for your grandaughter but Thomas is a little much for a one year old. Just waits until she turns two. :)

Steve and Chris, I have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to RC tanks but it sounds expensive. Steve, do they have clubs over there where you fight mock tank battles?

"Steve, do they have clubs over there where you fight mock tank battles?"

Ahhhh operating sessions

Oh, I forgot to mention that the Biscuits won the game on Friday the 13th in the bottom of the 13th with bases loaded and a force out at home. The catcher muffed the throw and our guy was safe. I guess 13 isn't always unlucky. :)

I also forgot to mention the train I saw. The CSX mainline runs right next to the ballpark so I get to watch trains moving in and out of the yard. A drag freight departing yesterday had two Bay Line GP-38's, a Willamette and Portland that I'm pretty sure was a GP-39, an unpatched (from what I could see) SP SD40-2 with the speed lettering, and a blue GP-35 that was obviously a leased unit but I was too far away to be able to see the initials on the cab. Weird assortment of power. I have no idea what a W&P unit was doing down in Montgomery, Alabama.

Morning all, HAPPY FATHERS DAY FELLOW MEN

Jim They do have clubs, and quite a few of them do have regular meet ups / op's sessions. I have not found many round these parts as yet but there must be. As for cost i would say it's no more expensive than MM'r ing, the electrical upgrades are about the same price as a decent DCC sound, another way i look at it, i want a train of Cargowaggons but at $40 each, thats a LOT of money.

Good Morning and a happy Father's Day to all!

It is currently 75°F outside and will reach 81° with a chance of some Thunderboomers later in the day. My Son's are taking me out to Brunch at a fancy place down the road a piece in just a few minutes. My youngest has been having a great weekend playing with his niece. Since he lives in Chicago, he has only seen her a couple times. Olivia is almost ready to start walking and is cute as can be. I have photos to share, but I haven't had time to look them over yet.

Just about everything that could go wrong with sound at last nights performance did...... Two kids put there mikes on wrong, one had his mik backwards and resting against his throat. Interesting sound to say the least. The lead had her mike (a directional Senhauser) facing toward the floor. They both got fixed at intermission but it made for some interesting sounds in the first half..... We also had a moment where, for no apparent reason, we got a loud ring and some random weird sounds. It was gone as quickly as it started. When I got home, I found that my power had been off at the house, so I figure we had a power spike that the computers and sound amps didn't like. Other than that the play went very well. Great bunch of kids! Middle Schoolers can be the greatest kids to work with and the absolute worst! Sometimes it is the same kid about a minute apart..... :D
