G'day guys.

I did a bit of scenery work today on my layout, I've been testing a mix of foam and chicken wire covered in plaster cloth, and I think I prefer the latter.

I've been building up a scenery base to build up a road overpass where a new wye will go under the bridge to a small staging area, enough for 4-5 trains and a bit of 5 finger staging.

I will post some photos tomorrow. :)

Last Day of vacation, My son and I plan on going to Bucaneer Bay and may be finish the day at Pine Island if we get time!

Morning James, Jeffrey, Chris, and all those peeking in!
Another hot one for us all, but I will stay cool working on the layout. My new yard tracks are almost all down and the next step is going back and re-connecting wiring feeds and Tortoises that had to be moved. This has been one heck of a job, but I have enjoyed every minute of it. Fortunately, I was able to salvage almost all of the track and turnouts from the old yard, saving many dollars. I only had to buy one double slip and five turnouts for the new design. :)
 
Afternoon everyone!

Late getting home from church this morning. I got to publicly present our minister with the 90th. consecutive charter for Boy Scout Troop 4 of the Presbyterian Church in Geneva during the service this morning. I also spoke to the new members class about what the Board of Deacons does in the life of our church.

We had a good rain storm during the church service so I won't have to get the hose out for another day to water the garden. High of 87°F today with a Severe Thunderstorm watch currently in place.

Rex sounds like you are having fun! Good!

It would be a shame to close the water park down with so many enjoying it. I visited Weeki Wachee back in the 60's, but missed the show. Still got to walk around and look at everything...beautiful water.

Personal Note:
My vacation is over:( now I gets ready to go to work:( The coffee maker is working slow to make the Joe, just to add to my woe! My job is sending me to a park 15 mile further from home, for a total of 45 miles one way. Now I go from 60 miles round trip to 90, also all pay raises have been susspended, with gas prices on the rise($4.09 reg.) how and why we got to go through this have only amendment one to thank and all who voted for her! Teachers, Police, Firefighters, Parks Department, and all local government employee's are slowly forced to quite and or get fired! all to save $20 each on our property taxes! at least the rain chances are good:o Have a good day all!:)

It's foggy out here by the lake this morning and it's a pleasant 73 degrees. It'll clear to mostly cloudy conditions and the high is expected to be in the low 90's.

I'll be heading out to Alexandria shortly for an eye exam which will probably take most of the day. I don't much like the idea of someone looking around inside my eyes with their finger on the trigger of a laser.

Not bad a chance to get some planting done after I take the wife to a Job Faire the County is putting on . Put on to show where our taxpayer money is going . Good morning folks

It was an ugly 81 F as I headed off this morning. Today’s high is supposed o be 99 F. We are still under an Excessive Heat Warning as this is the third day of the heat wave. Tomorrow is supposed to be 99 F also. Wednesday is supposed to be in the mid-80’s.

I am in recovery mode from the weekend. We went camping with my son’s Cub Scout pack over the weekend. Friday was bad with temperature around 95 F. We slept in the tent that night. Actually around 4 AM it was cool enough that I had to crawl into the sleeping bag. Saturday was brutal with temperatures around 97 F. The scouts did their hike in the morning and then did some activities around the camp. After lunch they went fishing. After they got back we had the water gun fight which everyone scouts, parents, and siblings got soaked. We did the traditional campfire stuff of stories and songs at dusk. Sunday we broke camp and came home to air conditioning. It was a good trip. Our Webelos earned two activity badges, and everyone earned a couple of sports belt loops or pins. September’s pack meeting will have a goodly number of awards for the boys who went. Right now my van is only half emptied. I have a bunch of stuff that has to go back to the scout closet at the church.

No modeling got done this weekend.

I finally spent that "windfall" (aka: loan) that our Uncle sent us. Went to the dentist for a crown. That became a down payment on it........

Paul how do rate such cool weather today? Here in the Finger Lakes it is now 93°F with the sun beating down on us. It was 80° when I got up this morning. The air conditioners are busy spinning that wheel on the electric meter.......

Tom sounds like even with the heat you had a fun weekend. Afternoon water gun fights are always great on a hot day. Around here, we use bigger guns though....

Chris hope you can get some new accounts at least with the longer trip to work. Be nice to at least be able to recover your cost of gas.

Ray i know were your coming from about the dentist,,, ££££ $$$$ same here, you almost have to sign a credit agreement and put your house down as a deposit, just for a filling.

One of our local Police men got shot today in training and died during a practice, not sure why live ammo was being used for training though, poor soul.
