Philip nice to see you! You have been missed over here. Sounds like yesterday was a scary time. Hope no one was killed in those tornados. 2008 is becoming the year of tornado I think. Sure hope hurricanes don't try to catch up.................

No storms here yesterday. Just a race. I'm just outside Indianapolis, and the weather couldn't have been better yesterday.

Oops..... I intended that as a message to Carl. Coffee must have done its job yet....;)

Got the garden rototilled. Also found that I have some new wasp nests in the shed next to the garden. I'll take care of them tonight. I actually don't mind the wasps as they are good to have around, but they hang around my deck and make it tough to go out there for a picnic. They seem to like everything I serve.

Ray/Chip: You shamed me into doing some yard work. I wasn't going to cut the yard today, you know...being a holiday and all:rolleyes: , but reading your posts about doing outdoor work got me going.

Was going to cut my grass but it's been very windy and the grass pollen,,, well

i bought the wife a pair of art deco Carnival glass vases today, the label said £12,,, thats a great price i thought, when i got home i noticed the label was for the item next to it, upon peeling it off the price should have been £25, oh my,,, what a mistake :)

Well. I'm all done.

But the garden isn't.

Got 2/3 of the crass pulled back and the wife and kids turned in the compost and planted the onions, potatoes, and green beans. I still have about 80 sq. ft of grass to cut out and now I'm on a clock. The beans will come up in a week to 10 days so I have to cut out the grass and get my fence built by the end of next weekend or the rabbits will get my bean crop again.

I do know how to build a snare. Can you say coney stew?

I'm never going to get my benchwork done.

No Parking! so we staied around the house and relaxed! any ways hey mon got's to go to work!

What a weekend. Sunday we had the girls and spouses over for a cookout. The grandkids also were here so it was a very enjoyable day.I tilled the garden and planted the corn and green beans. The garden is now about 1/4 the size it was ten years ago ande boy am I glad. While I was planting my grandson Colton started running around in the freshly tilled dirt. The old Troy Bilt tiller tills the dirt up to a very fine silty consistency. They put Alissa down in the dirt and she pulled her legs up like a turtle pulling into it shell. She did not like the feel of the dirt at all. Put her down in the grass and she was a happy camper. Yesterday I got all three yards mowed finally. I started Sunday evening with the trimming and all of the prep work. About half way through yesterday the mower decided it needed a break. A shear pin in the electric clutch broke. So after a trip to the hardware store I was back in business. While I had the clutch off I looked at the spline end and saw that the teeth in the spline are starting to show wear. So today I am off to a tool shop to get a couple of new spline ends for the clutch shaft. I got a lot more wear out of this end than the last one because I engage the clutch at a lower RMP thus not putting as much stress on the teeth of the spline. Over all a good weekend but still kind of groggy and sleepy still this morning. It took me twice as long to type this post than it should have because of all of the I had to correct.

Man, I don't know about the rest of you gardeners, but I am sore. I have muscles that hurt where I forgot I had muscles. Still it felt good to get out there and air them out.

One of the pitfalls of running a business like a lounge-chair lizard.

Good morning folks

It is raining and 68 F on the way to the office this morning. High today will 83 F.

Wow what a holiday weekend with awesome weather! We had temperatures in the 70s and 80s with clear, sunny skies all weekend. Saturday we went to the Devon Horse Show with my daughter’s Girls Scout Troop. On Saturday we spent the day at beach in Wildwood Crest, NJ. Yesterday was spent doing yard work and building my kids new basketball backboard set.

No modeling got done as I was just never in the house long enough this weekend.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Mornin' everyone!

Another bright sunny day here in the Finger Lakes. Right now it is 64°F with a predicted high of around 68°. So it is my kind of day.

I will be spending most of the day at school rehearsing sound with the Middle School Choruses. There are 3 (one for each grade level) that meet for a period every day so I will probably stay at school for the first two, come home and feed myself and the cats, and then drive back over for the last one. Concert is Thursday night and then I am done with concert season. I have booked a recording at a school south of here for next week so I will still be busy. Nice being retired........... I do enjoy the music stuff I still get to do so I am happy.

Better get some breakfast (keep the coffee coming Flo), take my shower and get going. Have a geat day!

Morning all.

Overcast with rain all day today, temps in the mid-60s.

Yesterday afternoon we drove by some of the homes that were destroyed by the tornado here on Sunday night. Amazing. I really cannot even put into words the power that was evident by the destruction here. Good to see how strong the small town communities are in Iowa too, everyone seemed to pitch in when and where they could.

Good Morning To ALL ! It's overcast and chance of rain today. Yesterday was wind and it huffed and puffed but no cigars or rain either . Spent a nice enjoyable day with family. I didn't do any yard work but did wash the car. Looks like today might be ify outside but will try to get some gardening in . Now it's time for coffee and the paper . Hope everyone has a real nice day !!!!

OK Paul....! You had to go and send that "ify" stuff this way didn't ya.... I think we have had the high for the day and it is getting chillier.

For the first time since I have been doing sound for the Middle School choruses, I think I have a mike arrangement that will work for them. Sounds great right now. have no idea what will happen when she adds the Bass, Trumpet, Trombone, Sax, and Drums for the final number though....???
