Good morning all.

Pouring rain here but should clear up this afternoon.

I think that I am going to start ridng my bicycle to work and park the car. Might help to keep clear and focused too.

Started assembly of my Rock Island caboose last night. Shouldn't be a problem to finish it this weekend sometime.

Good looking armor that you acquired Steve. Looks like it would be a fun time. :D

Afternoon ALL ! We finally got some decent weather here in Western New York ! Sunshine and 60 not to bad . Steve you might be driving that armor before long . I think we may have to go back to riding horses. May be chaeper that putting gas into our cars. Gota get going and finish some garden work. Have a PRR Caboose to pt together also . Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Afternoon everyone!

I have spent most of the day getting a haircut (full place this morning) and helping my son move a pile of furniture into storage. They are busy cleaning today as their house will go on the market next week. They will then put an offer in on a house they have their eye on......

Tomorrow is open house at the new Science and Technology building at camp (Boy Scout) One of the newspapers published the wrong times for the open house, so now we have to be there at 7:30 in the morning to get everything set up. That means i will have be up and about before 6 in order to get myself presentable, feed the cats, and drive out there. Since I haven't cleaned my house in several weeks, shoveling out the mess is a top priority today. If I am very lucky, I might actually get to walk through the train room on my way to washing clothes..... ;) :D

Price of gas may be high, but it doesn't seemed to have stopped any of those people who climb in their converted half-million dollar Greyhound buses and drive a few hundred miles to go "camping" ........... Saw about five of them already this morning.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend. The portable Vietnam War Memorial is down at the Seneca Lake State Park for this weekend. I drove by it today on my way to get my haircut. I have been to the real one in Washington DC twice. Very, Very, Powerful! I may be able to get down to see it sometime this weekend.

Steve: If we don't hear from you again, we'll know what happened.

Ray~ I saw the portable version here a few years back and was speechless. It was a very emotional piece and I hope that everyone who has the chance to see it makes the time for it.

Steve,

Watch out for that RC stuff it is highly addicting and very expensive! I got in to it with two 1/10 scale Electric Traxxas Rustlers that went 15mph.........Now $1000's of dollars later they hit 50+mph! Got expensive to run them at 50mph when they hit something something was suree to break. I almost put one through the side of my sisters car:eek: God was with me that day!LOL'

Steve I don't know where you ordered your tanks but this place has them too, http://www.hobbytron.com/AirsoftTanks.html

Chris, i got them from a UK shop Howes They are the cheapest in the UK and offer unrivaled service back up,,, as for speed, they will be fitted with low ratio gearboxes and metal tracks eventually (£39), we have had fast RC cars before, it hurts the pocket to much so we went with nice slow tanks :)

Good Morning Coffee shop gang!

Afternoon, everyone.

Busy yesterday with number two's high school graduation. All the thunderstorms went south of us so no rain, which was good for the ceremony. The wife told me I was supposed to dress up so I got into my suit. It was 85 degrees with 70% humidity at 8:00 pm, when the graduation started. Needless to say, I was about the only one dumb enough to be in a suit. Not a breeze and the thing took two hours. It was still 80 when we left.

Steve, nice looking armor. Looks like a lot of fun but I've already decided I don't need any more hobbies. Seems like the 6233 got right up to speed from the red. Nothing like a steam engine working hard.

Rex, hope you have a nice Memorial Day too. I fly the flag every day.

Paul, good to hear you are finally getting some summer-like weather. We have a really good farmers market down here. Just about anything you stick in the ground will grow in Alabama.

Ray and Carl, I haven't seen the traveling wall yet but have been to the wall in DC with my brother. We took some pencil tracings on the names of two guys in his outfit who didn't make it back. For just a big block of marble with names, it has an amazingly powerful, almost hypnotic effect. It's quite unsettling to be staring back at yourself in the reflection, alive, through the names of all those men who died so young. :(

Summer has really begun here. It's 96 degrees with a dewpoint of 66 but it looks like the chances for thunderstorms are minimal with no forcing mechanisms in place. Hurricane season officially starts in a week so we'll be watching the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico to see what develops this year.

Good After noon from Sunny Florida!

We got back a while ago from mowing yard's(I just woke up from my well deserved after work NAP!:D  )! Tough day they(the lawns) were a ready for there feedings. We must of put out a couple of hundred pounds of fertilizer plus quite a few gallons of Iron too. Most of my accounts are going to go weekly! More money....woooooot! The temp here in florida is around 90's with a high dew point, needless to say we felt like we were melting. We made it to our rainy season!:D We have a 40% of after noon showers but I don't think the coastal areas will get any just the inland areas due to the sea breeze affects but it florida are weather changes so fast anything can happen. Sunday and Monday are going to be nice days so the weatherman say's.......We'll see:rolleyes: Now I got to put all that extra cash into the tank of my truck for next week so i can make it back and forth to the Park job:mad: just can't seem to get a head! have a good evening everyone:)

Evening everyone!

Long, fun day. I had to get up bright and early this morning to get out to Boy Scout Camp to help set up for the "open house" for our new Science and Technology building. I had to set up a projector and my laptop for a powerpoint slide show of last years SciTek Camp. Building is coming along nicely. We will be able to house 22 people inside the building as it has dorm space as well as a small kitchen and 3 rooms that can be opened up to one huge room for instruction as needed. It will be heated and air conditioned also. Computer/internet access will be available both wired and wireless in every room in the building. Unfortunately only a handful of youth and adults came out for the day. Those that did were suitably impressed.

Then I came home and headed over to my son's house for supper (Grilled Salmon on a cedar plank.) Excellent! Later we worked on his new old boat trailer. That is new to him but ancient...... He had to redo the wiring connections on the trailer. Still couldn't get the running lights to work but the brake lights and turn signals worked. At first I thought it was an independent brake and turn signal wiring type system and the place he had the harness put in the car gave him the wrong set up. (Had that with my Volkswagon and a pop up camper years ago.) he insisted that everything had worked right when we towed his airboat and (other) trailer home from South Bend last year. He was right, I looked it up and there must be an open circuit on the running lights.

So I just checked in here a few minutes ago. Hope you have all had a great day!
