Lady and gentlemen, I have an important announcement! My wife gave me a tentative thumbs up to go all the way around our office/train room. As long as she gets a nice office setup, I can go right over her head with screaming passenger trains! I need to figure out how to span a few doorways, but I think I can pull it off. We decided to make the lower level living room our actual living room. The upstairs living room will be 'our mess'. Her office on one end, my miniature Mankato on the other. With Mankato's surrounding communities mixed in. This will be 13x20 feet of pure bliss. No more roundy round. Well, roundy round on a much bigger basis! Drinks are on me! Well, coffee anyway!:D

Thanks Ray, I appreciate it! I think if I can build it with better wood and stain, it will look nice. I think that's what my wife is expecting. My mind is almost spinning!

Go Corey, Go! Sounds like the man now has a plan (or a place to put it:D.)

Larry, forgive my ignorance, but what is an HHR?

Morning all
Nothing too busy to report here. Temps are around 45F with overcast skies as I get ready to leave for work. Should be clear and in the 60s when I get off of work. :)

Chris- Just saw the Florida wildfires on the news here too. Here's to hoping they get them under control quickly.

Good morning folks

It was a pleasant 50 F on the way in this sunny morning. High today will be 77 F and we have more rain moving in for the next 5 days. It is not supposed to be anything like the Nor’easter we had early this week.

I did the mowing of the lawns last evening. We also went to the last Cub Scout Roundtable of the Scouting year. My daughter received an award from the District for all the help she does for our pack.

No modeling got done last night.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Mornin' everyone!

Dry seems to describe the East right now. We should get some showers though over the next several days. The concert last night was fantastic as the High School Band really put on a show. The Jazz Ensemble lost their drummer so the Band Director (who spent his years before becoming a teacher playing the drums professionally) laid down a foundation that just brought the group to life. The guitarist who is a senior improvises like a seasoned professional. The lead trumpet player (major instrument - cello) was a bored trombone player. He said there wasn't any challenge anymore on the trombone so he picked up the trumpet this year...... Awesome! He plays cello in the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and has 7 brothers and sisters and both parents who are musicians. Way beyond zebra here.... The concert band was the best I have heard in years. Ended the concert with the entire Gustav Holtz Suite #2 for Military Band to a standing Ovation. Fun evening to a part of. Today I get to start getting the mikes ready for the High School Choruses....

See you all later!

Good very Morning All ! Looks like a part pleasant day here in Western New York , going up to 69 but expecting rain later in the day. Have to get out and cut the back forty before it rains. Here's hoping that everyone one has a real nice day ! Hi Sandy was wondering where you went . glad that we don't have to deal with snow over in our part of the country . See you all later !!!!!!!

How about some lunch. I'm starved Flo, how about one of each. Everyone join in...Ray's buying! :D

Last nights little op session went pretty good considering my temp track arrangement in that yard. I set up everything in its most simple form since all but two were new to the layout. The best part was meeting a couple of modelers I didn't even know existed:) .

Other good news is I finally found one double slip switch. Now I can get rid of the temp setup and move forward with completing the yard.

Needed rain should be coming in this evening and should be around for a day or so. I love working on the layout on rainy days.

Have a good day!:)

evening all, still got a flu bug from hell, just having a few mins catch up but my eyes won't play, they feel like they have been burned out, never have i had anything like this before or do i want it again, now the main symptom is a roaring temperature which comes and goes at will, a blinding headache, coughing that cannot be stopped which makes your blood vessels pump up so much they are now hurting like you wouldn't believe

Rex An HHR is a new Chevy that look a lot like a 1953 GMC Suburban. They are quite popular up here.

Larry: Ahhhhh! Ok, I know now. (dang, I'm a dummy:D ) My SIL bought one and loves it...so do I.;)

Dude, what's your Doctor say:confused: ? sounds like you may be suffering from something else? are you on any antibiotics? We'll pray for ya!

Good morning all.

Sunny skies and temps in the high 40s right now, should be around the mid-70s today. :)

The LHS called yesterday to inform me that the Pikestuff Yard Office that I ordered had arrived. I was pretty happy with the Enginehouse that I built from their "Shops" kit so I expect that this one will be just as good.

Good morning folks

It was 63 F as I head onto the highways this morning. The humidity feels like it is creeping up, however. High today is supposed to be 75 F.

No modeling again last night. I hope some time in the future to be able to do some again.

Last night was Cub Scout Den Meetings. Our Webelos 1 are the only ones meeting right now as they are wrapping up loose ends for their activity badges. Some of the boys missed things during the year are meeting to finish them. Last night they built a bridge to finish out their Engineer Activity Badge. We had a good year. At our upcoming pack meeting we will advance a few boys. We will then have advanced 19 out of 22 scouts. The 3 who did not advance showed up for less than 50% of the meetings during the year. One of the boys made a grand total of 10 meetings for the year from September to May. His mother wanted to know why he was not getting his Webelos badge. I had to explain to her that in two years he earned no activity badges, no belt loops, and hardly ever attended any meetings therefore he did not earn it and the pack would not give it to him because that would be degrading the honor for the boys who worked and earned the badge. She complained that the previous Cubmaster gave badges to everyone who signed up. I had to explain that that was not according to BSA rules and that you must earn the badges. If they continue with their attitude next year they are in for a rude awakening when he moves up to Boy Scouts. The whole thing was just another example of political correctness and the laziness it fosters.

I hope everybody has a good day.
