Good morning, afternoon, and evening. I think that covers all sides of the pond.

Another chilly day today. Thinking of working on the car today and maybe starting a diorama so I can get in on the photo fun thread with some real work.

Went through the old model railroaders I have, 1969 to 73 mostly, have a couple older ones, and of course, 2 new ones. Got the craftsman ones to go through also. Going to have to hit up Sam's Club for some magazine holders so I can get a nice home for these guys.

Car is in the garage to warm up before I dig into power steering issues AGAIN. Hopefully it isn't a bad pump again, I just bought the current one. The joys of used cars I suppose.

Well I'm Back!:( In three hours I went to the DR, Droped off Perscriptions and went to get Xrayed and picked up my drugs! Not bad I guess:confused::rolleyes: Well I got's a good upper Resp. infection and better drugs!:D I'm going to make an effort to eat some food and stay away from the evil beer until this crap goes away:( I thought the Economy is in the tank?:confused::confused::confused: Today is a Monday and the roads were loaded like some one was giving something away free:eek: Every parking lot was loaded to the rim:eek: For a bunch a poor people it sure don't keep them home!

Apparently they are not as poor as I am! Right now I don't even have a couple of pennies to rub together so how does anyone expect me to be able to pay attention.

Hi All!

Jim...Thank you for posting a photo of the pups. They are gorgeous! I think they were even smiling. :D Jimmy Carter decided that the bigger jets were a waste of fuel and switched the Thunderbirds to T-38s during his admin. I think the 16s make a better statement ;) I flew a T-38 simulator in Columbus MS a few years ago and had a blast. I flew it INTO the Golden Gate Bridge twice...could NOT get under that darn bridge. I did, however fly it through a barn and landed it in a blizzard in the Colorado mountains. My brother was a 38 instuctor at the time and said I did as well landing it as some of his students did. Brothers are supposed to say things like that, right?

Rex...It sounds like everyone had a blast at your place. I know very little about the layouts, but I did enjoy Jim's pictures of everyone playing...er...working.

Chris...this sure has been a rough couple of months for your health and that of your family. Hope you are feeling better! How is your wife doing? Did they get her meds all straightened out?

Steve...how about your wife? Didn't she have some cardiac issues a month or so ago? How is she doing?

I have been working 2 jobs lately and was thinking about a third. I want to get all my student loans paid off as soon as possible and it's time to start thinking about a new car. I have always fancied a Jag. Doesn't mean that I will ever have one...I just fancy them :D Anyway, one of the companies that I work for wants me to pick up an extra shift once a week. That will mean 6a-3p then 4p-11p every Wed. Makes me tired just thinking about it! Fortunately it isn't physical labor so I guess I will accept the shift. {{yawn}}

Are y'all ready for Christmas? I did my first bit of shopping yesterday night and already am worn out! I am not much of a shopper, I reckon. Got to the store after my shift ended at 11p and the place was deserted. I have been shopping all wrong up 'til now. From here on out, it's midnight shopping!

I hope everyone has a simply delightful Christmas! :)

Sandy

Thank you, Sandy! I'm Taking the meds the dr gave me, I hope by this time tomarrow I should know which way this problem will go. Long as I don't talk I don't cough!LOL's That the one and only thing I can do good!

My wife's dr is going to do some surgery on her upper intestine to correct some thinks that are causing her problem. As for her med's........Holy cow, that's a lot of drugs!

Steve, now I got good drugs. I can finally drink water and it stays!!!!!!!!!! wow! what a relief......... I haven't kept anything down for three days!

This years first Christmas present

Here is this years first present to me. Also replicas of this years presents to for grand kids Colton and Alissa. These two lamps were made with some scrap cedar I had laying around. The real lamps were made with some spaulted poplar a friend gave me several years ago. The spaulted poplar is a very pretty wood with black and brown streaks running through it. Spaulted wood is wood that has started to rot but not gotten soft yet just the enzymes turning the wood different colors.

Good morning.

It's 39 (35 WC) and cloudy. The high is expected to be in the low 60's and very cloudy with a higher than average chance of rain.

Yesterday I received a package which I'd been waiting about 5 days for. In it were 2 Athearn SOO LINE covered hoppers and an Athearn Conrail wide-vision N-20 caboose kit. The caboose went together very well with no flash having to be trimmed anywhere. It has of course been fitted with Kadee #5 couplers and is awaiting a set of RP25 metal wheels. The covered hoppers were already assembled but were on the light side. I installed the needed amount of weight to bring them up to 5 ounces and Kadee #5 couplers were installed in place of the horn hooks they had been equipped with. All that remains is to equip them with metal wheels. I then went over and helped my niece do some work on her home. I cut the remaining pieces of trim molding so the crown molding can be installed then helped her install the base board molding in the back bedroom.

Good morning folks

It was 17 F this bright cold morning as I headed onto the slightly less busy roads. Wind Chill was only 10 F as the wind has died down significantly from yesterday. High today will be 33 F. We may be in for a mess later. It looks like we may get freezing rain that should change to rain tomorrow night.

No modeling last night. We were wrapping gifts and doing some other last minute preparations for Christmas. The kids set-up their slot cars and have been racing them the last two nights. It took us a while to get them running. We had some dirty track and pick-ups on the cars. The clipper oil trick seems to work just as well on the slot car track as on model rails.

I hope everybody has a good day.

I'm still alive and still at home:mad: wife and boss won't let me go to work:mad: She called the boss and they said I can return tomarrow:mad: Work makes me feel better:) O well!:o I guess me and the TV, Couch, and TV guide got a date!:D I got three beers in the frige and I can't touch them:mad::mad::mad::mad: If this is like retirement..........I don't like it!LOLs

Good Morning!

Little slow gettin' goin' this morning, but thats OK. I suppose the weather report doesn't help my motivation. It's kinda bleak. The commute home looks like a real party too!

Today: A chance of snow showers before 1pm, then snow showers and sleet likely between 1pm and 4pm, then freezing rain and sleet after 4pm. High near 31. South wind between 14 and 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Well, I wonder what the world of telephones will bring me today? Could be quiet, the weather not being much of a factor and folks being off work for the holidays. On the other hand, it could be challenging, this the weather not cooperating and everyone wanting fixed up and a major holiday to make scheduling a "pleasure" (Thats the work we phone people use when things are all messed up!.....now you know.).

Oh well, I'd best get ready for whatever this day will bring. Gotta get the techs out the door and scattered around the city in readiness for the possible bad stuff.

Prayers for all those in need......yeah, thats you too! We're all in some sort of need, huh?

OK, so I have a real problem here!

I NEED YOUR HELP!

You see, I bought a little English Bullbog puppy for my wife for Christmas. He's a little boy, and he's only 7 weeks old, so we have to wait until the 3rd to pick him up.

Now I had to put a deposit on him, so I took my wife out to see him already.

Now comes the problem..........what to name him?

Here's a pic the breeder took of him. It's pretty bad quality, but you get the idea.

I like the name "Diesel", but the wife isn't on board with that. We've kind of agreed on Max, but that's kind of bland. Tank is a possibility, but the kids aren't so hot on that.

So, I ask you all, what do you think his name should be?

Hi everyone! I hope all are getting excited about Christmas. I always hate the preliminaries, but love it when Santa is near-ready to launch.:) I even tuned in some Christmas music:D.

Larry: that's some fine looking lamps. I almost chose woodwork instead of trains. I have always loved working with wood.

Chris: I know you're miserable now, but hope you can come out of it for Christmas Eve/Day.

Philip: How about Bowser, Bruno, Butch.

Philip: I have been waiting on my GeoPhysicis-is-is-ist, err RockGeek, Son-In-Law to send me these photos. Last April, he regressed to his younger days and went out and bought this lean machine.

2007 Big Bear Sled chopper. 100ci S&S motor with 98 HP at the rear wheel and 110ft.lbs of torque. It has a 46 degree rake on the front end, making the overall length of the bike just over 9.5 feet. The rear wheel is a 300mm series tire (~12 inches wide). It has a 6-speed tranny.
